Abu Simbel Tour
We were a group of 8 on a Viking RiverCruise. The excursion to Abu Simbel did not have enough plane seats available for all of us so we booked the day through Viator. We were connected with Omar, our tour guide from Black Dragon Tours. He did a fabulous job. Excellent historical knowledge and a joy to travel with. We had a private 8 person tour in a comfortable van that drove us 3 hrs to the temples. Yes a plane ride is much quicker but would have had to sit in the airport waiting for 2 hrs to leave so we arrived at the site at least 45 min before them. It was quite interesting driving thru the Sahara dessert and learned quite a bit about it. We arrived safely about 10:00 AM and had the entire place to ourselves!! Not a single person in the temples with us. As we were finishing up the groups from out boat that flew were just arriving. The point is we saved $400 per person on the same excursion, had the best experience at the temples and arrived back only 30 min after everyone else. This is a great alternative. Request Omar he’s wonderful!!

A day trip to Abu Simbel and Aswan from Luxor
It was a truly amazing day. The trip was long but very well worth it. The lunch box was very nice. The driver, AMR, was truly a professional and guide, Nana, was a very lovely companion. Adding a visit to the Temple of Philae in Aswan was a wonderful idea. Thank you very much for a safe and excellent trip.

Thrilled!
The Full Day Tour to the East and West Banks of Luxor was one of the most memorable experiences of the entire Egypt trip. The day was long and quite intense, but absolutely worth it if you want to see Luxor’s most important attractions in a short time.
The guide was knowledgeable and explained the history of Egypt in an engaging way, not just with dry facts. The visits to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Karnak Temple were the highlights. It is hard to understand how impressive these places are until you see them in real life. Karnak was especially breathtaking with its enormous columns and incredible details.

Everything Luxor In One Day
I will share information with you that I not already listed under the tour information.
- Expect a FULL day. We were picked up at 4AM and dropped off at 6PM.
- The hot air balloon ride is highly dependent on near perfect conditions. Be mentally prepared if it doesn't work out.
- A photo and video service during the balloon will be offered for an additional 25€ (the quality of pictures taken were great)
- After the hot air balloon ride, we're surprised to continue with a private tour (with the famous Dr. Mo)
- At the valley of the kings, although the ticket allows 3 tombs we only had time to see 2.
- For Dr. Mo to tell us the story of King Tut, it was an additional $30USD/person. I didn't feel it was worth it. You can read the information off the informational board.
- The place you will be brought for lunch is a tourist trap, about $20USD per person.
- The tour brought us to hands on experiences- Alabaster Store, Perfume, and Papyrus. It was very cool, but every place we went I felt obligated to buy something, hopefully you can have better will power than me! Don't be afraid to negotiate!!!
It was be better to split all the things we saw between 2-3 days. But if you only have one day like us, this is a great tour!

Exceptional Guide Who Made Luxor Come Alive
One of the best tour guides I have ever encountered in my travels. Ayman was extremely friendly, professional, and deeply knowledgeable not only about the monuments and temples we visited in Luxor, but about history in general as well. You could truly feel his passion and experience throughout the entire tour.
What stood out even more was his honesty and genuine care for us as visitors. He warned us about common tourist scams, gave useful local advice, and made sure we felt comfortable and safe during the whole experience. Thanks to him, Luxor felt much more authentic and enjoyable rather than just another tourist destination.
He transformed the experience from simply “seeing monuments” into actually understanding the civilization, culture, and stories behind them. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Luxor who wants a memorable and trustworthy guide.

Magical Sunrise Balloon Ride in Luxor
We had a wonderful hot air balloon experience in Luxor. It was truly special for us, especially because the flights had been cancelled for the last 5 days. So when it finally took off, there was so much excitement and happiness all around.
Our guide, Yisri, was very organised, full of energy, and made everything smooth from start to finish. He kept everyone informed and made sure we were comfortable throughout.
Our pilot, Baqir, was very experienced. The take-off and landing were both very smooth, which made us feel safe and relaxed during the whole ride. The ground team also did a great job, carefully guiding the balloon and making sure we landed in a safe place.
Overall, it was a beautiful and memorable experience. Watching the sunrise over Luxor from the sky is something we will never forget.

Nelly the best tour guide. Excellent tour
What a great tour, it was worth seeing. Valley of the Kings is an experience you will never forget, and the Temples is like a movie set you just can believe your eyes.
We had an amazing tour guide Nelly and she was very insightful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, we learnt so much about the sights and learn to read hieroglyphics and write of ages using this method. Great 2 half days. Thank you

Great memories
Easy communication, on time pick up with comfortable car. Driver was drove safely. Our guide Dr Michael was very nice and knowledgeable. He kindly treated us to local breakfast on the way to Denderah. Michael took his time explaining the important parts of the temples and we also had plenty of time to explore alone. We never felt rushed and return around 5pm. Thank you Muchael, the driver and Emo tours.

Recommended half day trip
Great half day excursion. With the newer road only takes about 4 hours. Hassan was a good guide. All three places were very worthwhile with well preserved and colourful carvings, especially at the artisans village where they were so complete and quite unique.

Amazing
We had an amazing full-day private tour with Hosney as our guide. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. He contacted us in advance via WhatsApp, explained all the details, confirmed the pickup time and location, and everything went exactly as promised.
The tour itself was fantastic. Hosney has very good English and an incredible depth of knowledge. He explained not only what we were seeing, but also how the temples were built, how they were meant to function and why specific scenes are depicted in certain places. He even brought visual materials and pictures to help us better understand things we would never notice or understand on our own.
What I really appreciated is that he actively engaged us during the tour, asked questions, and required our full attention, which made the experience much more interesting and immersive. It truly felt like a personalized experience — he clearly said that this was “our day” and that we could adjust anything we wanted along the way.
Water was provided as described in the tour, and although lunch was not included, he took us to a great place with delicious local Egyptian food. We were very satisfied.
Overall, this was one of the best tour experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommended if you want a deep, well-structured, and truly private tour with a professional guide.

Amazing trip - Worth it.
Great trip! Read all the bad reviews before and was really worried but it turned out perfect. The Hot Air Baloon Ride was amazing and we felt very safe.
After that we had Dr. Mo as our guide and he explained everything perfectly and not too long. We we‘re really flexible and it was a beautiful half day tour.
Thank you so much. Definitely recommend.

Temples and tombs with Ahmed Omar
Ahmed Omar was a great guide for this full day tour of the temples and tombs. The private tour is recommended, as it allows for a more intimate learning experience. He always checked to see if I had any more questions. A very thoughtful guide. A nice lunch to finish the day.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
As Egypt’s one-time ancient capital of Thebes, Luxor boasts numerous antiquities. But it’s also within easy reach of many other historical highlights, so it’s a dream destination for day-trippers. Topping the agenda are Luxor day trips that showcase West and East Bank must-sees such as the Valley of Kings’ tombs with an Egyptologist guide—some include extras such as lunch and hot-air balloon flights. Other Luxor day trips venture further afield to the Dendera and Abydos temples, explore Aswan or UNESCO-listed Abu Simbel, or even go snorkeling in Hurghada on the Red Sea.
