The Green Tour in Cappadocia was one of those experiences where I expected to see some beautiful places and learn a little history… …and then a cave got me. 😂 Not because I was afraid of it. Actually, the cave ended up being my favorite part. There was something about walking through those underground passages and noticing the uneven flooring that stopped me in my tracks. Those weren’t simply imperfections in the stone. They were the result of people who had walked there before me. People had traveled those same paths so many times that their footsteps had literally changed the ground beneath them. And suddenly I wasn’t just looking at history. I was walking in it. There was something incredibly humbling about realizing that my feet were touching the same earth that countless people had walked across hundreds, even thousands, of years ago. It made me think about how we all leave something behind simply by walking our path. Sometimes we don’t realize we’re making an impression. We just keep moving. One step. Then another. And eventually, someone else comes along and walks the path we helped create. Yep. The cave got me. 😂❤️ And that’s one of the things I’m learning to love about traveling—not just seeing beautiful places, but allowing them to make me think about something bigger than the place itself.
