The tour guide might have some knowledge of Egyptology. However, after the tour all I can remember for this trip is the unwanted and nonstop forced sale of cartouche from her and the “surprise” visit to the papyrus and alabaster shops, which were not even included in the original itinerary. Also, I was wondering what actually happened to the LUNCH money for the 2 of us. The package we purchased was only for car + guide, but close to lunch time, she told us we are going to a restaurant and the meal would cost 700 LE for each person. How did she know what kind of food we were going to order and it would cost 700 LE for each??? I asked her if we could change to another restaurant, and she said no because it was “recommended” by her company (another forced sale?). She then said she can talk to the restaurant and ask them to reduce to 600 LE for each person. In the end, the food we got was beef tajine which only had TWO cubes of unchewable meat. The total cost of the beef tajine not even including drinks cost us 1,200 LE. From the beginning to the end we never got the menu from the restaurant and didn’t know how much the tajine really cost. We were asked to hand the money to her and then she supposedly handed it over to the restaurant. Well, well, well… We all know what’s going on. Be aware of what tour company you choose from.

A huge thank you to our driver Ali who was absolutely incredible!
Very accommodating, super nice and always smiling, he accompanied us with great kindness throughout the entire day. Even though we didn’t book a guide, he still shared interesting information about Luxor and the sites we were going to visit by ourselves. He didn’t have to do that, but he did it with pleasure, which made our experience even more enriching.
He was always perfectly on time to pick us up at every stop, and he made sure we could enjoy our day to the fullest, without any stress.
Out of our whole trip, this was our favorite excursion — and that was largely thanks to him.
We will keep an amazing memory of this day. Thank you again!

Tour guide picks you up from the airport and takes you to each location so it’s super convenient. You get to experience so much of Luxor in a day which was pretty amazing. It’s also very informative and you get some alone time to walk around and take more pictures. At the end, we went to a local restaurant and the food was pretty good and they were very attentive. It was also very hot when I went so I would recommend having plenty of water with you, some snacks, and cash to tip the tour guide and driver at the end of your tour.

Thanks to our guide we had a great expedience. He was thoughtful and kind through the whole tour of Luxor. As he majored egyptology in Cairo, we learned so many things about the temples of Egypt. We were so sorry about not giving enough tips to him cause we didn't have enough cash then.

Ange our guide was an absolute star. We had members of our group that weren't fluent in English so she gave us time in between her explanations for us to translate in another language. The van was clean and comfy. Would highly recommend for anyone that visits Luxor

Shereen the Egytology expert & the Bandarawi the driver had picked us up Steingenberger Hotel…
She took us for a guided tour through the Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings (tombs got no tour guide policy), Hatshepsut Temple, Alabaster Workshop, Local Cuisine Restaurant, Papyrus Making Shop..
Her knowledge of history, minute details to architectural details, local customs, how to present the correct tickets, safety reminders, etc are exceptional and much appreciated..
The car driver was polite and road safe…

Traveling with a guide made a difference. Ahmed was our guide and he was very knowledgable and friendly. He was young and hip which added an interesting level of cultural understanding to the visit. He was also very passionate about the history and that was contagious. He made everything really smooth, short waits and very honest in what he chose for us to visit and focus on. It was a relaxed experience. We had a good car with A/C to take us around.

This was just a private van that took us around to the sites. None of the tickets to the sites were included. From the tour description this is not clear. The guide did not some Explanations, but I have much better tour guides.

We had a brilliant day with this tour at the Valley of the Kings. Hameess spoke great English and gave us a great experience. We did it at our own pace and there was no rush. She explained everything and even paid for us to use the toilet as we didn't have small change in the Egyptian pound. Definitely recommend.

Perfect tour. You can see all the Luxor top attractions in a single day. That being said, the tour actually lasts 6 hours (I asked to skip the shops). But it's enough. I highly recommend both Emo Tours, which is a very professional company with great support, and the guide Mustafa Awad: He is a talented and uplifting person with impressive knowledge.

Our guide Nourhan was just amazing, we didn't have time to get some breakfast and she took us to a really nice, good, local place with traditional food, it was really good! She explained everything to us, the whole history and how and why things happened, she is really knowledgeable, left no questions unanswered... The driver, Abd El Rabo, was also really nice and friendly, they really made our day... Btw, having lunch next to the Nile river was just from another world...

Moustafa was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge about ancient Egyptian culture and ruins. He was very personable, fun, and an amazing photographer for all the photos we wanted ☺️. We loved our day in the East and West Banks of Luxor. Sam gave us great explanations of everything we were visiting, answered our many questions, and was extremely kind. The selection of temples and tombs to visit was perfect. We came away with a better understanding of ancient Egyptian history and culture. The driver was also very nice and the car was very comfortable.

I booked a solo trip to Luxor and as a single female traveler, I was worried about booking a private tour but risked it instead of sitting in a packed coach with strangers. It was completely worth it and I felt safe the whole time!
My guide Ahmed Omar was extremely informative and helpful, answering all my questions and making sure I was always hydrated. He not only explained the history well, he also spoke to me about the local cultures of today and how they differ from ancient times. Whenever he didn’t know an answer (only once) he made sure to look it up instead of faking an answer which I greatly appreciated.
He also helped me book additional trip add-ons without any pressure to do so.
Suggestion to other travelers: go to the atm before you start your trip and bring extra cash so you can buy the additional tomb tickets and shop as needed because lost shops didn’t take cards.
When I return, I would definitely book again and request the same guide and driver.
