Authentic Traditional Tuscan Style meal shown skillfully how to prepare then we ate!

Antonietta and husband shared their kitchen and home for us to learn traditional pasta making, ragu sauce preparation and luscious tomatoe crostini. We all sat down to enjoy what we had prepared and other local sourced produce ricotta, honey, green tomato jam, meats, red and white wine all organic. Was wonderful conversation and love of beautiful food enjoyed by us 2 New Zealanders and 5 Australians in our class. Victoria was a excellent translator and very much added to experience. It was a great way to see the beautiful area and learn the history of Lucca. Our guide was great! The e-bikes made the hills a piece of cake. The vineyard was a lovely, small family operation that has been operating for generations. A very nice lunch was included. I was sure to bring some wine home to enjoy for later.

This was such an unexpected joy. Guilia was our teacher and is culinary trained and we learned a lot and had so much fun. And hey at the end we got to taste the world’s best gelato! It’s so good they have two shops in Lucca and one in DUBAI! Highly recommend the class. Ya’ can’t drink wine all day 😂

From start to finish the day is a magical adventure, whether strolling along the cliff side streets, boating along the coastline, swimming in the Mediterranean, savoring black and white pasta and calamari with a glass of wine, taking in the astonishing architecture’s, or sharing stories with people, it all is coordinated, maneuvered and made fascinating and so very interesting by the guide - ask any question and the answers were unfolded creating a picture and story as if living in a fairy tale.

We Found Our Lucca Familia!

If you’re looking for an experience with an Italian familia, this is the one!! Monica and Paola were such gracious and loving hosts. They took every measure to make sure our experience was beautiful and filled with knowledge and learning and the sense of familia. We learned to make two kinds of pasta from scratch, we tasted different flours and talked about how ingredients affect the final product. Everything we used was fresh and organic. We enjoyed a delicious bread “chip” as an antipasti, and then delicious bruschetta so flavorful. We sampled a beautiful ricotta with homemade herbed olive oil and herbed salt. We made the pasta and then cooked it. To serve the pasta, it was complemented by two very different but equally delicious sauces and a delightful red wine. We had an option of two desserts to choose from and enjoyed each very much, along with a delightful dessert wine. Monica takes great pride in being able to really effectively teach the students proper technique and innate cooking lore that will help them reproduce the dishes learned in Lucca when they return home. She inspired both of us to consider more cooking with fresh and organic ingredients. This experience was definitely a highlight of our adventure and we would highly recommend and repeat when we are in Lucca again.

Great day out in the...

Great day out in the countryside, the bikes made it easy and very enjoyable. We went there and back on the bikes after spending a few hours in Pisa and having a lovely lunch away from the crowds in the centre. 100% would do it again it was fun and lovely to cycle so far through varying scenery. We’re in our mid 50s and don’t cycle at all except on holidays sometimes.

Wonderful hosts!

Wonderful father/daughter instructor team led our family through making homemade rage, pasta, and tiramisu. The food was fantastic and they were lovely hosts. The only thing I would say to be aware of is that this is in commercial kitchen setting- not in a home or patio. Other cooking classes we have taken are in more of a residential or patio setting but this is very commercial- not a typical dining situation.

Excellent experience highly recommended

This was an excellent tour and our guide Victtroia was very knowledgeable and pointed out so many interesting things. The tour was at the right pace and mainly in flat ground the only hill was to walk to the top of the walls. I would highly recommend this tour you get a sense of what’s to see so you can go and explore in more detail if you wish. Highly recommended
