The tour wasn’t just walking around Lucca, being shown sites. It was being explained, by a true expert from Lucca, the history, the way the town has evolved, the people, the food - we learnt so much more than just seeing sites. Would highly recommend.

We're sorry you missed the tour, but we assume you were in the wrong place. In fact, the tour took place normally, with several participants, starting from the Tourist Information Office in Piazzale Verdi, as indicated in the tour description. If you didn't participate to the tour, you can always ask for a refund. We hope we'll have the opportunity to explore the city together in the future.

The historic center of Lucca is very welcoming and walkable. If you want to see the famous city wall surrounding the old city center, rent a bike for 5 euros and spend an hour riding all the way around the level and beautiful walkway. The walking tour guide I had was very informative and pleasant, so it helped me appreciate Lucca better than if I just walked around on my own.

We had a great time on our walking tour of Lucca. I would suggest that they advise that the meeting place is at the Information centre and not just the address that is the entire area.

Discover unknown streets and buildings with all kinds of history. Our tour Gide was not very good, didn’t pay attention if the group was together and normally a Gide is in front of a half circle so everyone can understand what she/ he tells. Her behaviour was very unprofessional

It was a nice afternoon but the guide would start talking when she reached the next place even though the whole group had not arrived. Also with a large group they should have a microphone as I felt we missed out on about half her commentary

This was the perfect tour on arrival in Lucca for the first time. Vittoria was passionate about educating the group about the history and the many things that make Lucca so special today. Our path through town was perfect to see all the important areas and was helpful afterwards to navigate the town alone.

On the scheduled day we had difficulty finding the meeting point. We clicked on the link in the listing but later figured out that link was actually for the ending point. There wasn’t a clickable link for the meeting point; you just had to read and then type into Google Maps. (Didn’t help it was pouring down rain so we were trying to find shelter too.). We communicated via Viator and finally found the meeting point. The tour guide then told us another tour guide didn’t show up so we should come back in 3 days. We agreed and asked her to send an updated confirmation. We never received an updated confirmation but it wasn’t a problem when we returned 3 days later. I can’t remember our guide’s name but he wasn’t very engaging. It felt like we walked around more than hearing historical or interesting information. (This could be because we had just come off a fabulous Florence walking tour, also booked through Viator, with a great guide!).

Avoid booking this tour. The tour operator was unresponsive when we tried to contact. There were too many people on the tour and the guide was impossible to hear. Spend more for a better tour with less people.

Our tour guide was good. However, the tour company overbooked the tour. We had at least 40 people with us and there were no headsets or radios supplied so we could hear the tour guide. The city was nice but this was not the way to see it.

The store was one of the best tours that we have ever been on! Gabrielle was extremely educated and knowledgeable about Luca and blew our minds with the information that he provided. We were even late to join the tour and he was so kind to answer his phone during the tour and let us know where he was going to be so that way we could catch up. Truly the highlight of our Lucca experience

An excellent and well presented introduction to the fascinating history of Lucca, and a great way to find your bearings in the city. Only criticism is the pin location given for the start is slightly inaccurate causing us stress at the start trying to find the tour on time, having stood for 10 minutes in the wrong place. It would be helpful to describe the start as being directly in front of the Tourist Information Office.
