Wonderful tour of Honey Island Swamp - Gators Galore!
This tour is very well run and organized. The guides were all great. We had driver Justina on the bus to and from the swamp. She provided a lot of history and information and was also warm and funny. Our boat guide was Captain Dave. Like Justina, he was from the area, so we got a lot of local lore and history from him. He was funny and engaging and told great stories. I was expecting the swamp to be buggy. Not at all. We didn't need mosquito spray. The water on the Pearl River is pretty fast moving and it slower moving at Honey Island, but still no bugs. What you will see are tons of animals! We saw egrets and other birds, snakes, turtles, etc. You will definitely see alligators of all sizes and cute wild raccoons because they know that the guides have food. They lure them with a high-quality zoo grade pellet made mostly of fish (that's what I was told). It guarantees the animals will put on a show for you. All around wonderful tour!

Amazing cemetery and history tour of New Orleans cemeteries
Amazing tour guide David and Captain Carl took us on an amazing and spooky tour of the dead in Nee Orleans. We learned about the history of VooDoo and Santeria religions. We saw the amazing Odd Fellows Rest and Charity Hospital Cemeteries and history that spanned the origins of New Orleans up to Hurricane Katrina. Amazing tour. Highly recommend.

Great Swamp Tour, plenty Alligators
We had a Great time with Captain Daren, very informative about the land & wildlife, the boat ride was smooth and we saw many gators, turtles and even a bald eagle in the nest. There was white egrets and great blue heron birds. Marsh & various species of trees. In general we had a wonderful time, the boat is covered so you are protected from any rain or sun exposure. Pick a morning time for a bit cooler experience, South LA is beautiful and the swamp tour gives you a glimpse into a Cajun’s fisherman’s environment and you’ll see some alligators on the tour.

This was an awesome...
This was an awesome experience with a brilliant local guide who lived and breathed this place. The boat was fun and we were quite fortunate with the wildlife. We saw a ridiculous number of alligators of all sizes, as well as a bald eagle, barn own, snake! TWO TIPS! Remember to bring cash for tipping your guide at least (we gave 20-40 USD) and ideally the two drivers (if you want to be a nice, even just a couple of dollars each). You may get a little splashed and windswept so don't wear your finest whites or cap. There's a small shop but it is worth bringing a water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen. Be mindful there are some less orthodox ways of connecting with the animals here. It's standard practice for the guides to offer marshmallows to the gators. Which is an odd and amusing sight in and of itself, but as animal advocates who prefer the 'look but don't touch' approach we had to accept this as part of the relationship people have with the wildlife here, even though it did make us uncomfortable (we declined to touch a baby gator)
