What are people saying about Japan

This was a great class.
This was great. We mainly focused on noodle and dough making which is what I wanted. Not much was spent on broth, so don’t think this is a broth making class. I learned quite a few good techniques for making ramen noodles that I am excited to try at home.

Loved it! Best experience we had in Japan.
Family of four with two teenagers and we all loved it. We were the only ones attending our session which I thought made it exceptional value for money. We got to learn the Ninja meditation and other important facts about Ninja and Samurai and their history and how to move quietly like a Ninja avoiding sharp objects on the floor. We were then allowed to use the real Ninja weapons and practise throwing various throwing stars and blow darts. We then moved on to Samurai Katana sword training and learned several cutting techniques. Our trainer was a delightful lady who was very clear and helpful in her instruction and answered our questions. She also took photos and videos for us. Oh, and we got to dress head to toe in black like Ninjas for the whole session. Hands down the best experience we did whilst in Japan and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to all ages. Simply not to be missed.

Exceptional experience
This was such a Zen experience, it’s been the highlight of our trip so far! My daughter has attended several tea ceremonies and she said this one is the best she’s had because of both the beautiful scenery/garden and the educational and serene ceremony presentation. I also loved the Q and A at the end. Exceptional experience!

Great Experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our sushi making experience which included the history and practical preparation. It was easy to find and full instructions were provided.
The instructors were knowledgeable and engaging. We had the opportunity to meet and speak with other participants and travellers which was fantastic.
Highly recommended.

We had a great experience...
We had a great experience at the tea ceremony. I don’t remember our leader’s full name, but he told us we could call him “You,” and he made the experience feel welcoming, informative, and fun. He had a great sense of humor, which helped everyone feel comfortable, and he also took photos of everyone, which was such a thoughtful touch. He guided us through the ceremony in a way that helped us appreciate the tradition, meaning, and care behind each step. It was a peaceful and memorable part of our time in Japan, and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to experience it.

Beautiful tradition....
Beautiful tradition. Having tea with our tea master was one of our Kyoto highlights. Getting dressed in the kimono is a wonderfully orchestrated process. You pick the color of your kimono and then your lovely team take it from there. Within minutes you are looking stunning in hour kimono. It’s a feeling you should really experience. Lots of photo opportunities. Tea service is rich in tradition. Highly recommend.

Nice experience
You get to make as many pieces as you can in the time slotted and the teacher spoke good English and was very helpful throughout. Note it costs extra to fire and ship… If you are in Tokyo for a while, go at the beginning of your trip so you have enough time to go back and finish your pieces.

Delicious and Fun!
Fabulous! The class was fun for our whole family (parents with teenage/preteen boys). The instructor, Sakura, was so lively and energetic. The staff was helpful and friendly. The cooking was a blast and the ramen was delicious!!! They are also extremely accommodating for dietary restrictions. Would highly recommend for all ages!

Tour of the back street bars and restaurants in Tokyo.
Hana was an excellent guide. She took us to restaurants/bars in the back streets of Tokyo that we would never have discovered on our own. She introduced us to foods and drinks that we may not tried on our own. Being on this tour felt more like going out with a friend than a guide.
We were late in getting to the meeting point because of traffic delays but Hana was kind enough to wait as well as give the both of us a full evenings tour.

I had such a great...
I had such a great experience with this cooking class in Tokyo. The instructors were incredibly informative and explained everything in a way that felt approachable and easy to follow, even for someone who doesn’t regularly cook Japanese food. What I appreciated most was how accessible the recipes were — nothing felt intimidating or overly complicated, and each step was clearly explained. I left the class feeling genuinely confident and excited to try making Japanese dishes again once I got home. It was both educational and empowering, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a hands-on, thoughtful introduction to Japanese cooking.

A Delicious and Educational Morning!
Walking through Tsukiji Market with Miho was such a wonderful experience.
She shared so much information about the market, the different vendors, and what foods are worth trying — it really brought the whole place to life.
Hiroko was our amazing instructor for the sushi-making class. She was patient, encouraging, and gave us great tips on preparing miso soup and seasoning the rice properly. I especially loved learning how to make the Japanese egg omelette, but the highlight was definitely mastering a sushi roll!
I highly recommend this experience — it’s a fantastic way to learn from locals and get hands-on with authentic Japanese cooking.

Super fun experience...
Super fun experience making sushi... with not only step by step directions on how to make nigiri and hand rolls, but also some interesting history and trivia too. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours and pretty satisfying to eat the sushi you made! Would highly recommend the experience.
