We booked a private surf lesson for myself, our 2 sons and our 8 and 10 year old grand son and daughter. Z our instructor was patient, positive and had us riding the waves just like the locals (well, sort of) within our first 30 minutes. There's a photographer there who took a ton of great photos which we happily purchased. Highly recommend if you want to have an epic time on your vacation

WOW!! This was one of our kids favorite activities on our cruise! I truly believe the quality of your surf experience has a lot to do with your instructor and if you are lucky enough to get Jess and/or Sharky as your instructor you have hit the jackpot! IMO if you don't have fun, it is all on you, not them! They were both patient individuals that were excellent at explaining the ins and outs of surfing. We booked this activity for our two kids and their SO who are all 21-22 yo and they can't stop talking about surfing and wanting to try it again! Each couple was booked with one instructor, but they decided they wanted to do it together, so they had two instructors for the four of them. They enjoyed doing it this way because they received feedback from two people instead of one. They were all able to get up on their boards which was cool! The beach is not crowded like a lot of beaches where surf lessons are offered, so no worries about "stealing" somebody's wave or being taken out by another surfer. The waves weren't crazy big so it was prefect for beginners. We took an Uber there from the cruise port and ordered an Uber when they were done with no problems. They provided shoes, rash guard, and the board. Communication prior to the lessons was excellent. The kids 100% recommend Jess and Sharky at Rivers to the Sea for surf lessons!! A special thank you to Jess and Sharky for helping our kids and their SO make awesome memories learning to surf in Maui!!

Koa, Brady and Andre were awesome at helping our family learn how to surf . They were punctual, and sent me good instructions and maps on how to get there. We were the first group out on the water and got lots of practice time. My son liked it so much that he signed up for a second time the following day. Highly recommend this company.

What a fun way to spend Christmas Day! Patrick was a great instructor — all the people in our party were up and surfing in no time and had a blast. The organizers were very communicative, and gave clear instructions on where to meet. We had a great time! Mahalo!

Family of 5 beginners worked with Steven, Devin and Tyler. Very knowledgeable and wonderful teachers! They were so patient and kind. Put us on some great waves and everyone in our group had the opportunity to get up and surf! I would highly recommend these guys.

This was my first time surfing and to my surprise I caught several waves! Javier was great at teaching and breaking down how to do every step to make sure I succeeded. Even when I wiped out he was still very encouraging. If it’s your first time or not, I definitely recommend.

This was a great experience for my son. He is 17 and this was his first attempt at surfing. His instructor Justice was great with him. Gave him very good instruction and got him up and riding the board quickly! Justice was very professional, friendly and a wonderful instructor. We will definitely come back and would recommend this surfing lesson to everyone.

It was amazing! It was an unforgettable private lesson with my family and there was 5 of us total. Andy and John are an amazing team and taught us the basics on how to surf, we all managed to stay on the board by the end of it! I would recommend to everyone who wants to have a good time with their friends and family while learning how to surf! John also took incredible pictures!
