Art History and historical tour of Florence

Stefano was our guide and he provided a great tour of the city. When confronted with one of the best art museums in the world and 80 possible rooms to visit, that could take weeks to complete, Stefano focused attention on the most significant artists and what makes the paintings and sculptures so great. It was the history of Florence art and architecture in a four hour cliff notes.

Great way to see the area

We were pleasantly surprised with the daytrip and so glad we took the day to do it. Julia was our guide and Claudio was our driver. Both were excellent. Claudio did a great job of getting us to all our stops safely. Julia was outstanding, she was incredibly well organized and has a head full of info on the history of the stops. She provided the group with plenty of easy to understand instructions throughout the day. Note - she used WhatsApp to send out info on all the stops, map links of the meeting spots, etc. So it's helpful to have data and Whatsapp installed. The stops were great and the time spent at each one was just perfect. The stop for lunch at the winery was fantastic - enthusiastic staff at the winery provided info and history on the vineyard and wines, and the meal itself was delicious. A nice bonus was tasting some of their olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Julia arranged a train ride from the bus stop into the main area of Pisa and I highly recommend doing this. Otherwise you'll spend 15ish minutes each way walking to and from the bus. Plus the train ride was fun - not a train in the typical sense but a tractor pulling open-air carts on wheels. Worth the 7 euro roundtrip. One thing to note - the bus leaves from an area outside the main Florence tourist spot. We had to take a 20 minute tram ride to and from the bus terminal, but its a very easy and cheap (2 euro each way) ride. We stayed near the train station and the tram literally stopped 4 minutes from our place. The coach bus is new, clean and comfortable. But note, the one we had did NOT have a toilet on it, so you need to be strategic with your stops and planning bathroom breaks (but thats everywhere in Italy!) Overall I highly recommend this trip to see some of the area's hidden gems. San Gimignano was beautiful, Sienna is gorgeous and Pisa is just a must see! And the ride through the Tuscan country-side is great as well.

Excellente!

Excellent excursion. The guides were fantastic (Gabriel, Elena, and Chris) - they take safety seriously and made sure that everyone was comfortable using the Vespas before starting the trip. The route was very scenic and our guide, Gabriel, was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we travelled through. The food was great.

Amazing guides and the driver - wine perfect and the views just amazing. Worth every euro! First winery has absolutely delicious balsamic and wine collections - we bought not only the wine but also the onion flavour balsamic which was incredible and I never tasted anything better!

This was a rich tour experience with Ismail -so knowledgeable and informative about the Accademia Museum and the history of Florence. This is a great tour, but I definitely suggest doing the Uffizi part as well! Giada was an amazing guide - she was knowledgeable about the histories, subject matter, and perspectives of the pieces. It really made it enjoyable to hear how and why these artworks came to be. Would love to tour the first floor of the Uffizi with her!

Absolutely lovely day...

Absolutely lovely day across the Tuscany region with Constantino and Teresa. We learned the history, had time to explore the towns a bit on our own, and enjoyed a lovely wine tasting. It would be nice to have more time in the towns but it’s really not possible with the schedule so I am not at all upset. This is a lovely way to visit if you choose not to rent a car.
