What are people saying about Dominican Republic

I felt the description...
I felt the description was broad so let me break it down:
1. Horse back riding - about 10-15 minutes we opted out and they were okay with it
3. Church - you have to cover up, (they provided coverings) women can’t wear revealing clothes and you have to pay $1 to get in otherwise it was beautiful
2. Farmers market - least favorite spot, smelled horrible, raw meat just out everywhere definitely got a taste of the culture there and we stopped at a gift shop
4. Lunch - the food was AMAZING, everyone loved the Dominican food and the fresh avocado
5. Dominican house/cocoa - the house and the cocoa process was very interesting and entertaining. I did buy stuff then found the same stuff cheaper at the gift shop so that was confusing. Also need bug spray for this part.
6. Cigars - that was fast and fun, they took videos of us rolling which was a fun experience to have
7. Macao beach - AMAZING so beautiful I wanted to stay forever, no seaweed, clear waters, only issue was the vendors they are asking OUTRAGEOUS prices, like $300 for a couple bracelets. Don’t let them get you.
Overall I felt it was a great cultural experience, it was a long day and we were so tired after but we saw so much. Not sure how to upload photos

Book it!
The waterfalls were gorgeous and so much fun!! There was a bit of a hike but we had older women and young kids who all made it easily. Definitely worth it! Tammy was our guide for the day and she was friendly, the car was sooo nice and she had lots of info to share with us on the way there and back.

Amazing 3 in 1 tour was Awesome!
Our 12-hour tour turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! I was a little nervous at first because it was such a long day, but having Carlos as our guide and Jimmy as our driver made the entire experience absolutely amazing.
We explored so much in one day — from going up into the mountains and getting breathtaking photos, to taking a boat ride through incredible caves, enjoying a delicious traditional lunch that was included, and visiting a beautiful waterfall. Seeing so much of the country along the way made the experience even more special.
Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. They picked us up and dropped us off right on time, and we got some of the best pictures and videos of our trip. Carlos kept everyone entertained all day with his humor and energy, and he was unbelievably knowledgeable — they called him “Google” because he seemed to know everything!
This tour was 100% worth it, and we would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting.

Highly recommend!!!
Beautiful half day tour into the Highly Exclusive & Affluent Gated Community of Casa de Campo frequented by many celebrities. Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and courteous showing us around. We saw beautiful views of the River, walked around all the exclusive shops and even rode a donkey! The amphitheater was amazing (felt like we were in Rome or Greece!) and the church was also very pretty. Great photo ops around every corner! Really beautiful and something different to do aside from beach & action parks.

The real culture
We came to the Dominican and stayed at a resort but wanted to book an excursion to see the real culture of the country. Osvaldo our guide was extremely knowledgeable and our driver Fansisco. It was a 1/2 day and there was no rush. Osvaldo really wanted to show you all things. From the market- horseback riding in the country, original cigar factory and also made one ourselves and the famous church in the big city. We also visited a home where the lady let us tour her house and all the gardens she has to make organic things not to mention he fed us an authentic DR lunch that was amazing . This was an excellent experience. Just what we wanted to see. Osvaldo would also make sure to take pictures of you at each location and didn’t try to sell you photos but by doing it with your phone which we appreciated. We tipped him well because it was worth it !!

Malcolm was great.
We are a group of 9. 4 adults and 5 kids. We have a great time. The tours wasn’t too short or too long. Malcolm was so friendly and accommodating. He also was on time and communicated with us prior to the tour. I would highly recommend Malcolm as a guide.

Long day out but honestly worth it
Booked the small group trip but we were upgraded to private tour which was fantastic as we had our own driver and tour guide so we were able to make excellent use of time and got chance to do all the attractions. Lunch was included, again this was great. Thanks so much for a fantastic historical day out

Top notch family friendly
What a beautiful experience! Not only is it a beautiful wonder of the world, but the tour guides are amazing. There was no garbage the whole way, fresh cold, bottled water and very attentive to our guides with lots of wonderful information. Food on the tour was beyond amazing and our driver was wonderful. Remember to bring cash for tips! Also, if you want to rent shoes, they only take cash for water shoe rental which was very affordable

The guides and crew were...
The guides and crew were friendly and accommodating. The trip to Saona Island was one of the highlights of our trip to the DR. There seemed to be less tourists on our Catamaran compared to others that we saw, which I consider a plus. I’d recommend tour to others.

100% Worth It!
If you are looking for way to see what the DR is like beyond the resort, BOOK THIS! It’s a very eclectic and interesting excursion that allows you to see how an average citizen of the country lives. My wife and I wanted to book something like this and it totally met our expectations, it will keep you busy and having fun the whole time. Also I must mention that our guide, Wester Martinez, was fantastic!

The BEST snorkeling experience in Sousa Bay
Every minute of this experience was absolutely wonderful!! We did snorkeling and Alex, Franklin and Poncho did everything they could to be sure we were having a positive experience we were picked up at the port and driven to a site that gave us positive snorkeling outcomes They offered 2 separate locations that gave us the opportunity to view lots of variety/colors of numerous fish they were very attentive to making sure we were safe every minute That was their primary concern so we could relax and totally enjoy all there was to see so many varieties of fish PLUS Alex took numerous underwater shots of us that will bring back so many memories of our underwater experience and all the varieties of fish we got close to!! You will be so glad to book an unforgettable excursion, one you will never forget!!

Its a great way to spend...
Its a great way to spend a little time being amused by small monkeys crawling all over you while you feed them! The tour company (Runners) was communicative and well organized. They picked up on time, had good drivers, entertaining guides, and provided a good experience at Monkeyland (which they own). They appear to treat the monkeys well, care about their health and well being (they will not let you in if you appear sick, etc.), and are protective of them. There is a little bit of a sales pitch during/after a demonstration of coffee and cocoa farming/processing, but even that was informative and entertaining (and my girlfriend bought several of the items). Overall, a great way to spend a day!
