The experience was a 10/10 ! The speed boat there, the natural pool, & the island was amazing ! If you have back problems I do t recommend the speed boat & the food on the island was like 6/10 it goes fast !!! The rum&coke had me and my friends twisted, don’t let them put the Dominican head scarf on your head if you don’t wanna pay $5, I do wish we spent another hour on the island but travel time is so long i understand the bus is about a hour and the speed boat was about 45 minutes the party boat was cute but we could’ve went without it.
Great family-friendly excursion! The Danny Boy team was professional, friendly, and answered any questions we had. We weren’t staying at a resort, but the agency still took great care of us, making sure we knew exactly where to meet, and our tour guide found us easily. We even got massages on the island, which was a nice touch! The food was just okay, but overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend them.
The Island itself was amazingly beautiful, but the trip to get there and from was draining. It took about 3 total hrs going and 3 total coming back with the transfers, but overall the Island and party boat taken back was awesome!

Good morning!
Thank you for your review and for sharing your experience!
We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beauty of Saona Island and had a great time on the party catamaran on the way back.
We understand that the travel time can feel long. Since Saona Island is far away. the excursion includes transportation from Punta Cana to the departure point, which is necessary to reach this incredible destination.
We truly appreciate your feedback and are happy that, despite the transfers, you had an enjoyable experience. We hope to welcome you again on another adventure in Punta Cana!
Thank you!
Friendly. Decent amount of buffet variety. More modernized for resort goers. Still good. Piña colada in a pineapple 10$
Speed boat ride was my favorite but if you like luxury not the best for u. Crew always helpful with pictures and questions and entertaining. GENEROUS with their alcohol. Real review for once.
They pick you up from your hotel and then pick up other participants from other resorts. You stop at a souvenir shop for 10 minutes. They take you to a place where the ships are. Locals try to sell you cigars/phone cases. You take a speed boat to the island. The speed boat made my stomach turn. We stopped at a sand bar for 35 minutes. You are given Coca Cola and rum. Then it’s off to the island. The island was beautiful. You spend about two hours there. There are locals there trying to sell jewelry and $100 massages. They are very persistent but if you give them a firm ‘no’ they tend to leave you alone. The food is buffet style and it’s about 6/10. The bathroom is ok. Requires a bucket to flush. Then you’re shuffled on a catamaran boat. Takes about 30 minutes to get back to where you started. You’re taken back to the bus. It’s an all day thing. The driver picked us up at 7am from the hotel and we didn’t return back until 6pm. It’s worth the money.
I had Jensi as my driver - he was extremely unprofessional and rude. He ruined the entire experience for me. Make sure you pick a different driver !!! Or request someone else if you receive him.
I was car sick and he was purposely slamming on the brakes , then proceeded to laugh about it with his coworker. Multiple times. 0/10 . Wasted money.

Good afternoon! I’m apologize for driver behavior. He has been adminished already.
We will continue working to improve every day! Sorry for the inconvenience.
The bus ride is long it took over two hours to get to our destination. The people are great but there is so much going on. Hundreds of people getting off buses and hundreds of people getting food and be chartered from one boat to another boat. It’s A LOT. No mamjuana just rum and coke. I wished I couldve Just rebooked the catamaran tour i did the last time. We were drunk and enjoyed ourself. With this I just wanted to get home.

Saona island is the most famous excursion in DR, obviously there will be a lot of people in catamaran, getting food etc.
On the list doesn’t say mamajuana is included.
Even though the excursion had to be rescheduled to Saturday because of Good Friday , this experience was flawless despite that everybody from Friday most likely rescheduled to Saturday. 10/10 excursion
absolutely amazing! Loved this so much , specially good if you are a people person. Locals on the island are pretty aggressive trying to get you to purchase you have to assertive in telling them no if you do not wish to purchase , they will negotiate in price
Well organised trip with stunning views around the island. Great atmosphere and a must-see part of the Dominican Republic. Highly recommended!
I was initially scared for this excursion due to the good number of negative reviews but i must say don’t listen to them and try for yourself becuase this was the best excursion me and my partner did in punta cana. We had so much fun and the staff was super friendly. The boat ride to the island was so much fun!! the vibes were perfect lots of dancing and singing and drinking. Me and my partner(lesbians) also felt very safe and welcomed by all the staff, so i would say this excursion is very LGBTQ friendly!! I would recommend this excursion to anyone visiting the DR. The only downsides were we both felt there wasn’t enough time on the actual saona island( about 2hrs on the island). We spend more time on the boats than on the island which was a bummer because that’s what the excursion was all about. Another downside was that yes there were unlimited “drinks” but the only option was rum and coke( which we were tired of by the 5th drink). There is a water jug tho to people to drink water which was nice. Also for any ladies traveling please be aware of the male vendors and people trying to sell stuff on the island. We felt very harassed by many of them constantly asking for our numbers and cat calling us ( which is not the fault of the excursion company). Ladies be safe and visual at all times. Overall amazing excursion we had so much fun and would definitely do it again.
Terrible organisation of transfer to and from the hotel to the boat, it took over 3 hours each way, for a 1hr 20min trip.
This Saona Island tour was a huge disappointment. A lot of wasted time standing around, cramped bus ride.A staff member spilled rum all over my clothes without apology, they ran out of food leaving several guests with nothing to eat, and the boat ride back actually ran out of gas, stranding us at sea for nearly an hour. They refused a refund.
I was really looking forward to my excursion , but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite frustrating and disappointing.
Right from the beginning, the representatives in charge of the trip were disorganized and unprofessional. During the journey, instead of engaging with the group or giving useful information about the itinerary, they spent most of their time talking loudly among themselves. They were joking and making sexual comments while laughing, and having personal conversations — completely ignoring the passengers around them. It was hard to hear anything else.
Nice weather and the beach was good. Employees and people were very helpful. I recommend the tour for a relaxing day.
To start the ride to the marina was long being we had many people to pick up from other hotels, there was a 15 min stop to use the restroom with which was overcrowded, when we got to the marina where the catamaran was located there was so many people overcrowded again, easy to get lost the catamaran was to small with to many people, but the music and entertainment was ok, the drinks were just rum and coke no other options the cruise was good but I feel it was unnecessary to make another 15min stop at the blue hole they called it , it took up time we could have gotten on the island , then when we got near the island we then had to transfer to a smaller boat to take us to the island, we then had to wait for others to arrive in order to line up to eat lunch, food was good enough for me but drinks were limited again to rum and water other drinks you had to purchase, by this time we were limited to like 2 hours to enjoy the island and the beach which it went by so fast, in the end we were rushed onto speed boats to get back to the marina then when we arrived we couldn’t find our tour operator because of overcrowding and confusion on where to meet up maybe in the future they should hold sign's stating the company name or logo to identify themselves due to so many people taking tours in that area.
I’m glad that everything looked how it looked in the pictures. I didn’t eat before though so I felt sick for half of the ride but not because the boat was bumpy, which I was surprised about. There was dancing and entertainment on the boat and I got to buy a hat which was fun. We stopped at the blue lagoon to swim and that was nice. When we got to the island there was alottt of people though and the food area was covered with bees. There was also no communication about what was what we had to ask and there was a language barrier obviously. We got two hours on the beach including the time it took us to eat. I got a sunburn and I put on a lot of sunscreen but ig it was just really hot. Overall pretty cool experience but it took wayyy longer than I expected. A hour plus for the bus ride there, boat ride, and speedboat back but it was cheap and I got to see a lot so I’m not too mad at it.
Well the start was okay. We got picked up with no problems. Once we arrived the problems started. On our bus , we held 14 people unbeknownst to us several more buses of people would also be on this same boat. We were squished at this point. They tried to distract us with music and dancing. But in reality there was no room at all. We stop for thirty min to swim in one area. By the time we got everyone back on the boat we had to rush to Saona Island. We arrive at saona island food was set up the guide announced we had to be back on boat at 3:25. By this time it’s 1:40, we only have barely two hours to eat, swim, look around etc. Fyi there are at least a hundred people on our boat so the time frame to eat would take most of our time. Then he introduces people who could give us massages. Now I’m confused how would we do all this in such a small amount of time. It was very disorganized and disappointing I plan to speak to Viator. At 3:30, we have to line up to get back on the boat . It was chaotic. My family and I had to get on a speedboat to go back. Ok that’s fine. During this time, the workers on the boat are listening to music and pouring alcohol in peoples mouths. The last person was directly behind my daughter; the guy (workers) was leaning on my daughter to pour the drink in the girls mouth. She asked him to “excuse himself “ he begans repeating, “ are you loco? What’s wrong you want some tequila? “ He’s now yelling in her face. We asked him to back up. I just asked my daughter to not respond because he was probably drunk. At this time I’m bothered, hot and annoyed. I just want to get back to my hotel. Upset this happened because I enjoy every excursion I’ve ever booked. So good luck . Let me not forget to mention we had no seats on the island and it was full of seaweed. I could’ve stayed at my resort.
Not recommend especially the transportation to islands (catamaran)
Too many people staying on the boat, at least half of theme should be less to enjoy the trip.
No open bar, ladies going with cups, cheep rum and Coca Cola. On the island there is prepared food but don’t expect anything special and better be the first in row.
If you have possibilities to pay more for private tour I will recommend that option.
Tons of fun. Good music, drinks, and vibes. The crew keep the crowd engaged and we got some awesome pictures out of it (just know the pics are a separate charge).
Mostly great experience. Great place. Wonderful travel. The photographs might be overpriced. Be careful there! Some rare unfriendly staff with attitude.
This was the best experience! I was solo. Made friends. Driver Enrique was the best. 10/10 I’d do it again!
If you cannot speak Spanish, this is not the excursion for you. 98% of the tour was spoken in Spanish. We informed them at the beginning, but it appears we didn't matter because we were the only ones that didn't understand.
The boat experience was terrible. The instructor was very rude and unprofessional. The instructor only spoke Spanish the entire time and my friends and I asked him to translate in English about instructions about the excursion.
It seemed to me that the time we spent on the bus was ridiculously long.
Then we find another group of who were going to go with us on the boat more than 70 people a lot of crowd. Horrible
It wasn't Open bar two shots of run and Coca-Cola there was no variety of drinks.
To be honest is actively not worth the price especially in the Dominican Republic.
I did the boat activity in in St Thomas and Puerto Rico and was better
Absolute blast! The captain Danny and his staff made this trip what it was. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure you were safe and having fun. Our glasses were always full and the music was always playing. We stopped at a beautiful swimming spot first and then went and had lunch on the island after. Overall we had a wonderful time.
Not happy with the communication of Viator. My reservation said we would be picked up at 8am at the front lobby. The time was changed to 730 without us knowing. They said the called us and no one answered. I dont have access to a phone on vacation.
Its on airplane mode to avoid accessive roaming charges. Not sure why the would call when all other communication was email. So at 8am we are all waiting at front lobby. Waiting waiting waiting. No driver. Finally with help from the resort they got intouch with soneone that then told me the pickup was changed and the driver left and pick up was outside tge security gate not front lobby. They were mow sending a van back and for us to go out front. There were 12 of us and the van only had seats for 10 so mow we are crammed in and sitting on laps for over an hour. Not comfortable at all. When we finally got to the boats the people were very organized, directing people to either a catamaran or speed boat. We have the catamaran first. It was overcrowded with too many people but they had some very fun entertainment. We stopped for a lovely swim on the way then off to the island. Now the island again is beautiful but way way way too many boats taking people there so again over crowded with too many people to enjoy the beauty. The lunch offered was wonderful. Lots of options. The tour said drinks included. Tge only options were water or warm pop and run (which they ran out of), no beer which we were told the would have. After an hour in the island they then crowd u into speedboat to come home. If u didn't have a bad back before u got in u will have one now. They hit every wave at full speed and jar back and knees. It's terrible. On a good note our tour guide DannyBoy was wonderful. He spoke both Spanish and English clearly which was great. I tick this tour 5 years ago and it was amazing fun and relaxing. Not now. I recommended we take this tour to 11 friends now they are questioning my credibility. Not impressed
Be prepared for a long day with even longer boat rides. Once you can get pass that the island was an experience and the natural pool was fun.
going to the island was good in the speedboat but the catamaran was very small the 2 net was very small no one in the staff talked english like it was supposed to and the food on the island was ok !
It really takes 9 hours, so prepare accordingly. Is useful to have water with you as the transfer could take a while depending how far your resort is from the catamaran. All in all fun and worths the day
