Our catamaran cruise with Captain Emily and her fantastic crew, Ryan and Jamie, was the absolute highlight of our Catamaran trip. As generous and attentive hosts, they ensured we had a wonderful experience both on and off the water. Before departure, Captain Emily carefully assessed the weather - taking wind, waves, and currents into account to choose the safest and most rewarding snorkeling spots for our group. The Snorkeling: Bonaire truly is a snorkeling paradise! We explored two incredible sites and encountered sea turtles, tarpon, schools of fish, and dozens of vibrant reef creatures in every color imaginable. The Hospitality: Beyond the stunning marine life, the food and drinks were exceptionally well-prepared and served proportionately. We cannot recommend Epic Tours (Chill & Grill Catamaran Tour) enough. Captain Emily, Ryan, and Jamie made an already amazing destination feel extra special!

Salty Tours Private Charter

After the cruise line canceled our tour, we booked a private tour in Bonaire with Captain Darren of Salty Tours ( boat name) . It was the best tour of the cruise . We went to excellent snorkel sites , road on tubes ( everyone young and older had a blast ) , and seen the coastline with a narrative of different buildings . Plenty of cold beverages for everyone, snorkel gear , and floatation devices. We were a party of 7 and there was plenty of room on the boat. There is a metal canopy for shade but you can sun on other areas of the boat. I would highly recommend Darren for your family adventures. A decision you will not regret!

If you want an authentic, eco-friendly look at Bonaire, this 2-hour tour is a must. Our guide was stellar—attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable with the kayaking pace.Snorkeling under the mangrove canopy was magical. We were surrounded by parrotfish, barracuda, and school after school of slender needlefish. The environment is perfectly tranquil. The area doubles as a sanctuary for wild birds, meaning you will get spectacular views of wild flamingos. Seeing the baby flamingos at the facility learning how to feed before their release was an unforgettable highlight!This is a fantastic option for cruise passengers looking to bypass overpriced ship excursions. Booking via Viator gives you seamless transport options, but renting a local vehicle or golf cart to drive down yourself is just as easy. Just make sure to pack your mosquito defense spray to protect against local dengue risks. Five stars all around!

Must Do!

Wonderful snorkeling excursion, especially for a beginner! They had all the equipment needed, and I even ended up using their fins instead of my own. The captain and guide were both friendly and knowledgeable. They let you exit the boat and you float with the current which makes it easy. The boat is always there in case you want to get out. The snorkeling was amazing, and our guide made it even better by pointing out things we might have missed, including eels, squid, beautiful fish-especially angelfish, colorful corals, and even a Christmas tree worm. We also got to see an area where coral is being grown as part of conservation efforts. They also share professional photos with you at the end! A great way to experience Bonaire’s underwater life!

Must do!

A wacky and fun adventure. Our guide was very capable and confident as we descended into and explored the two different caves. We were picked up from our hotel and dropped off at the end. Our guide was able to safely navigate the caves and even skillfully guided us under water into another room in the wet cave which was an amazing experience. We borrowed snorkels and lights which were all in good working order. Our guide took pictures for us and navigated the tour in two different languages. Our group had only five people and they really took the time to make us feel safe and to guide each step we took and climbed. There were ropes and ladders to assist climbing but you definitely need to be a little fit to be successful and not claustrophobic. It was also extremely hot in the caves as we were made aware before.

Excellent overview of the island

This ended up being a private tour because no one else had booked which was a very nice experience. Our tour guide was an island native and was extremely knowledgeable about the island, wildlife, politics, and history of each site we visited. He was professional and accommodating and gave us some great insight into life on Bonaire. He also gave us recommendations for things to do on the island and places to eat. The van was clean and cool and very comfortable. Our only regret is that we did not do this tour earlier in our trip as we learned about so much! We ended up revisiting the 1000 steps after we stopped there on this tour.

Great experience.

Get off the ship and turn left. You need to walk 30 min until you see the lighthouse. That’s the marina. Sea cow is easy to find. Bathrooms available before you board the boat. Shoes off before boarding. This is a drifting snorkel trip. Super easy for any level. Jump in. Drift a few 100 yards. Boat is there to pick you up. So much to see at the two spots they take you to. Everything you need is supplied. Drinks, Snacks, Etc were perfect. Loved it. Highly recommend and would do it again in a heartbeat. We’ve snorkeled all over the Caribbean. This was unique, but in a good way. Saw so much sea life! Also drifted right over a coral cloning farm. Got to see the scuba team working within it. Great experience.

Amazing excursion with John

I was a solo traveler and the only American but like someone else stated in a prior review John did the tour in both English and Dutch. I always felt comfortable and even sat in the front because I do get motion sickness. I only took one Dramamine. It’s definitely hot so bring water plus they have water and a light lunch and tea and coffee with a snack. I learned a lot about Bonaire today. I am glad I went on this excursion. I would recommend it to a friend.

Lovely Morning on the Water

My husband and I enjoyed the Mangrove tour. Our guide was wonderful and provided detailed information about the different trees and how they are essential to the area. Near the end, we got out and snorkled through the mangroves. It was incredible to see all of the sponges and schools of fish near the roots. As a bonus, you can see the flock of flamingos near the Mangrove Center. If choosing to drive out on your own, the road is unpaved and rough.
