Itinerary
Your experience begins with early-morning pickup from your Bavaro or Punta Cana hotel, then a scenic drive inland with your local guide. The first stop is a traditional Dominican plantation, where you’ll meet local farmers and learn how organic methods are used to grow cinnamon, cacao, coffee, and vanilla. Sample fresh coffee or hot chocolate, and browse a small selection of products available to purchase directly from the source.
Continue deeper into the countryside as you travel up a mountain road into the jungle. Arrive at Monkeyland, a five-acre (2-hectare) natural habitat dedicated to the care of squirrel monkeys. Walk through the sanctuary with your guide, observe the monkeys up close, and enjoy the opportunity to watch and feed them in their environment.
Before heading back, visit the botanical garden to see native trees, plants, and flowers. Then, relax on the return drive to your hotel, with transportation taken care of from start to finish.

Ruddy and Daniel were amazing tour guide! We experienced the cultural, monkeys (45 mins), then we learned about coffee and chocolate. 2 adults and 1 child (10). She loved the monkeys! You got to feed them often, they climb all over you. The sites are beautiful! The history and understanding how chocolate and coffee are made was interesting! Even my daughter liked the chocolate presentation. Our pick up and drop off was on time and with ease! We highly recommend this tour!

Do it! Absolutely incredible adventure This excursion is worth every penny. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable of the monkeys. It’s so hard to leave
The whole experience was great for our family. Juan Cruz and Eddie were excellent guides! Definitely purchased a lot at the plantation and everyone loved the monkeys. Great way to get off resort and into the mountains!
Jose Carrasco was a really good driver and a really good singer, Angel the tour guide was the best as for the monkeys they were really cute and nice to see they were taken care of, good cultural experience also
The gentlemen Angel, tayo, and Christoper were very accomadating and made the whole experience great, got so many pics up close with the monkeys and vids. Wpuld deffo recomend this trop
This excursion was excellent on many levels. The main attraction of course was the Monkey interaction, it was awesome to have so many squirrel monkeys on and around us, they were gentle and adorable with a number of them carrying babies on their backs. So fun and we got some great pictures. Then the coffee and chocolate demonstration, although quite a hike to get there, was interesting and informative, and included tastings of both those items as well as the famous Mama Juana. The bus ride was the third important part of the excursion, where we could see the countryside and small towns of real Dominican life away from the big resorts. Our guide Baldy told us a lot about the island and the way of life. Our driver Isaac made us feel safe navigating the narrow streets and, shall we say, crazy traffic! All in all, a highlight of our trip to the Dominican Republic. Highly recommend.
Experience with the monkeys were great, we spent around 40 minutes with the monkies. which were good. Then you go with your tour guide and they talk about coco beans and coffee and get to sample them, which took around 60 minutes. Guide Eddie was lovely and also the driver Erickson
Only draw back was the time getting there which took over 2 hours going to different hotels and other travellers waiting for them to arrive to be collected but returning home took less than an hour.
Cost for 2 adults and 1 child which cost £188.00 was it worth it I would say no but a good experience but we’re only there less than 3 hours.
Wilbert was a hilarious bus driver and wonderful. The monkeys were fun and lovely to feed. We also learned the process of making chocolate and coffee and got to see coco fruits on trees.
Wilmer did a fantastic job. He was the best tour guide. He was funny and very informative. The monkeys are a highlight for our trip here in Punta Cana
It began to rain during the Monkeyland portion, thundering and lightning. However, as your website states there will be no cancellations for weather, we soldiered on, purchased ponchos and completed the first part of the event in pouring rain. After getting on the bus we were told that the remainder of the excursion was cancelled and we would not be receiving a partial refund. We were also told that 5 people on the bus had to sign a paper regarding the remainder being cancelled.
If, contrary to what is stated on your website, you make a decision to cancel the excursion (or a portion of it), I understand. However, to do so without offering a partial refund is unacceptable.

Dear Customer,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the weather conditions during your excursion. We understand how frustrating it must have been to have part of your experience interrupted after you had already continued with the activity despite the heavy rain.
Although our excursions generally operate rain or shine, safety is always our highest priority. In cases of severe weather, particularly when there is thunder and lightning, certain activities may need to be suspended or cancelled to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.
We would also like to clarify that a partial refund is being offered for the portion of the excursion that was cancelled due to the weather. To request and process this refund, please contact the representative or the agency through which you made your reservation. They will be able to assist you with the corresponding process.
We sincerely regret any misunderstanding regarding the refund and appreciate your understanding of the safety measures taken under these circumstances.
Monkey land was great. After we got picked up from the resort, Daris gave us a great history lesson on Punta Cana as we were riding to monkey land.
It was so much fun and the monkeys were sooooo cute. I was amazed at how fast they pulled the sunflower seed out the shell and left the shell behind! When they land on you they are so light they only weigh 2 pounds . I will definitely do this again but with the 4 species for the education on them .
This was a great experience. The monkeys were adorable. Our tour guide was funny and entertaining. We were able to see the restaurants and neighborhoods during the ride to Monkeyland. They make sure they explain the rules to you for your protection and the monkeys. Great place and you can tell they love the monkeys.
Sammy and Nelson awesome tour guides! We have an 8yr old and monkey island was the highlight of our trip. So worth it, fun experience
Ruddy and moises the BEST OF THE BEST awesome as always have done this tour plenty of times but RUDDY & MOISES ARE FAR THE BEST !!!
Amazing trip. Such a beautiful location. Well organised and looked after by the guides. The monkeys were absolutely adorable. Would book this again.
The positives - the tour itself was great. The monkeys and the coconut house where you learn about the culture and the coffee was great. Our family really enjoyed it.
The main negative was it took 2 hours from when we got picked up to get to the tour, when in was 45 minutes away. Had to wait to pick up 4 other groups. And then the driver went to a gas station and we waited there for 20-30 min. No gas, no explanation. Just parked and that got a bit frustrating. Maybe there was a valid explanation that wasn’t given. If we were told it would take 2 hours in a bus for a tour that’s about an hour, I’m pretty sure we would’ve passed.
Monkey Land was absolutely amazing! 🐒❤️ Having the adorable squirrel monkeys climb across our heads and arms for fruit was such a fun, unforgettable experience. We also loved learning about the coffee and cacao plantation and seeing how coffee, chocolate, and other products are made. The entire experience was educational, interactive, and filled with so much laughter and joy. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Punta Cana and an experience we will always remember! 🌴☕🍫🐒
Great experience our driver and guide were Antony and Gabriel. Both were very good and Gabriel gave a great talk on the way back to hotel.
The staff at monkey land were great, and the monkeys were soo cute and we got some great photos
What an experience! My daughter loved it! Baldi was our tour guide and he was fantastic! So knowledgeable and his English was impeccable! It rained the day we went but it somehow made it more magical! I was actually quite nervous about the monkeys but they were so gentle and well behaved! The plantation tour and info about coffee and chocolate was fab too! This was the highlight of my 10 year old daughter’s trip!
This was a fun experience! Transportation and everything else was great. The only thing I didnt like was how pushy some of the employees were. My mom was very fearful of the monkeys and they kept pressing her to put one on her etc. Other than that a great experience!
Great experience. Monkeys are adorable. Our guide was very informative, giving us information about the culture of the local people. The cocoa and coffee plantation portion was great. I purchased some of the products. I highly recommend this excursion. Our driver, Nathan Bus 41 was awesome!!
Interacting with the adorable monkeys was so much fun! We also enjoyed learning about cacao and coffee at the plantation area!
I was excited about this experience and then I got nervous once I arrived. But it’s safe to say the tour guides made us comfortable and gave us clear directions. The monkeys are so cute.
Every thing you nees is provided
Transport drivers provided cold water
Animal careers very knowlegable and carinf towards the animals
We had such a great time. Very informative learning about Dominican goods. Of course the monkey part was the best. Had plenty of time with them.
Amazing! Candyman and Eddie made the experience unforgettable! Would definitely come back & book again with the same people. The coffee was good, the monkeys were cute, and the traditional homes were beautiful.
Amazing tour guide, great pick up and drop off, healthy and cute monkeys, and overall seems like a very sustainable tour to do here in Dominican Republic! Highly recommend. Eddy & Corporal, as well as Ruby and Ruben were amazing tour guides.
Very amazing experience, explained everything very well when it came to the monkeys and the culture they made you feel welcome and took there time and didnt make the experience feel rushed
Best experience in DR, so much fun, even though I did get a little peed on by a monkey; the monkeys were so adorable and the cacao and mamajuana was great
I would highly recommend this unique tour! Our family had an amazing time from start to finish. We were picked up punctually in a comfortable, air-conditioned bus by our guide Juan Cruz (the "Dominican Tom Cruise"), who kept us entertained and informed for the entire journey from our hotel.
Once we arrived, the briefing was swift and helpful. The experience with the squirrel monkeys was absolutely unforgettable—they jumped right on our heads and played with us as we walked through the enclosure. You can easily see that the monkeys are incredibly well looked after. We took loads of our own photos on our phones, but the professional photos taken by the guides were very reasonably priced at just $50 for the full digital set or $10 per print (a massive savings compared to the $150 many other excursions charge).
After Monkeyland, we toured a real Dominican home. Eddie gave a fantastic presentation on how local cacao, cinnamon, coffee, and coconut products are produced. We loved the demonstrations, the tastings of organic produce, and the small cup of Mama Juana! There was a completely zero-pressure opportunity to buy some of these local products, which felt like a great way to help contribute to the local community.
The core experience lasted exactly 3 hours, bringing the total trip to just over 4.5 hours with transport. If you want to meet well-cared-for monkeys and learn about Dominican culture, this is a must-do!
