Had a really good time at Moneyland. The place was clean, well organized, and had a lot of fun activities for both kids and adults. The rides were enjoyable, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the day. It didn’t feel overcrowded, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a great spot to relax and have fun—I’d definitely go back.

Perfect for families - the animals are well-cared for. The caretakers know them by name and are protective of them. The monkeys are comfortable with people and love to just hang out on shoulders, feet and heads:) We enjoyed sampling local coffee and cocoa - Frandy, our tourguide, was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this excursion!!

Itinerary

Your experience begins with early-morning pickup from your Bavaro or Punta Cana hotel, then a scenic drive inland with your local guide. The first stop is a traditional Dominican plantation, where you’ll meet local farmers and learn how organic methods are used to grow cinnamon, cacao, coffee, and vanilla. Sample fresh coffee or hot chocolate, and browse a small selection of products available to purchase directly from the source.

Continue deeper into the countryside as you travel up a mountain road into the jungle. Arrive at Monkeyland, a five-acre (2-hectare) natural habitat dedicated to the care of squirrel monkeys. Walk through the sanctuary with your guide, observe the monkeys up close, and enjoy the opportunity to watch and feed them in their environment.

Before heading back, visit the botanical garden to see native trees, plants, and flowers. Then, relax on the return drive to your hotel, with transportation taken care of from start to finish.

Ruddy and Daniel were amazing tour guide! We experienced the cultural, monkeys (45 mins), then we learned about coffee and chocolate. 2 adults and 1 child (10). She loved the monkeys! You got to feed them often, they climb all over you. The sites are beautiful! The history and understanding how chocolate and coffee are made was interesting! Even my daughter liked the chocolate presentation. Our pick up and drop off was on time and with ease! We highly recommend this tour!

10/10 Experience

David_R, Apr 2026
One of the best excursions I got to experience and DR. Our tour guide Sesacional was great and so was our driver Dominguez. Tour guide taught as things about the country and did it with a sense of humor also. Also they had free waters or soda for us if we got thirsty during the ride as well. Once you get to Monkeyland the people there are very nice and funny there too as well. I already miss the monkeys, they were so cute. It was a chill excursion which is why it was my favorite. They did have bookings to make it more thrilling as well as they have ziplining in the same area and the buggys as well.

Super cute monkeys

Monkeyland

Kelly_k, Apr 2026
This excursion was an absolute 10/10! Our bus driver, Wilbur, was an incredible guide who shared fascinating insights into Dominican culture and daily life throughout the journey. He ensured that we had ample opportunities to observe the local flora and fauna, including the vibrant fruits and vegetables that grew abundantly in the region. We also had the privilege of witnessing the wildlife roaming freely, and the respect they displayed towards each other was truly heartwarming. The monkeys, in particular, were incredibly gentle and kind, and the guides made sure that everyone had many chances to feed them, which was a truly amazing experience. The presentation about coffee and cocoa was particularly captivating. It was informative and not at all pushy, which made it a pleasant experience. I had a terrible sunburn and ended up buying a small container of coconut oil, which proved to be an excellent remedy for my skin. We want to express our deepest gratitude to Wilbur and all the staff at Monkeyland and Runners Adventures. We leave with unforgettable memories that will stay with us forever.

Family loved it

Fantastic experience, monkeys have a great big space and are super friendly. Not rushed, even the ice creams were reasonably priced. Air conditioned bus. Highlight of our trip.

Hot, bumpy ride

Gary_H, Apr 2026
Overall it was a decent experience, the shuttle was 15mins late at pickup, the drive was bumpy almost to the point of hurting my back while going over even the slightest speedbumps, going through town and sight seeing was nice, but the 40min drive around town picking everyone up was a bit much. Once we got there, had to sit through a presentation with sales pitches, but did end up buying some stuff even though, I swore I wouldn't buy anything. When we finally got to the monkeys, they were adorable but you hold out these dishes and the guide puts 1 or 2 sunflower seeds in your bowl, they jump on you for few seconds and then onto the next...they do this for a few rounds so overall you get about an actual minute of monkeys crawling on ya and then your off to buy your picture packages, there goes another $40 or so The trip back was informational, hot and very bumpy..but it was a good experience, was it worth the money? I dont think its a good value, but was an experience

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Visitor, We sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations during your experience. We regret the delays at pickup and the discomfort you experienced during transportation, as well as the extended time spent on pickups. We also understand how the presentation and overall flow of the tour may have felt more commercial than expected. Regarding the monkey interaction, we’re sorry to hear it felt too brief and did not provide the level of engagement you were hoping for. Your feedback about the photo packages and overall value is truly appreciated, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve. That said, we’re glad to know you still found parts of the experience enjoyable. Please know that your comments have been shared with our team as we continuously work to enhance the quality of our tours. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Great experience

Diamond_H, Apr 2026
The experience was fun. Pick up was on time and tour guide was very friendly and helpful. It’s about a hour or so drive there but on the way you tour the community and get cool information about the people and the towns. You get there and they give a presentation on how they make coco and mamajuana and let you taste it. Afterwards they take you to where the monkeys are and that was the best part. That lasted about 30-45 mins. Some people did get peed on tho. The instructors took pics of us and let us take pics and videos. They didn’t rush us or anything. Didn’t pressure us to buy from gift shop like most excursions do. Then took us back to resort. Overall took about 6.5 hours. It was super fun to experience and learn new things about the people and country.

Great company

Lisa_G, Apr 2026
Amazing guides, both on the way to and from, and at the park. Time with the monkeys though is very short.

Too may groups together and long waits for each activity

ilenia_p, Apr 2026
The monkey encounter itself was fun, but it only lasted about 45 minutes. The monkeys would only approach you if you were holding the food provided by the staff. Before the monkey experience, we were seated for a presentation where a tour guide explained how cocoa beans and coffee beans are turned into powder. I didn’t enjoy this part because there was very little demonstration—aside from about 20 seconds of grinding beans. I’ve been on hands-on tours before where you actually make chocolate from cocoa seeds, so this felt underwhelming. It also seemed more like a sales pitch for their products, which were later sold at overpriced prices. What I appreciated the least about this tour was the amount of waiting. When we arrived, our group of about 30 people had to wait 30–45 minutes for other groups to arrive. After the bean presentation, we waited another half hour while people shopped. Then we moved to the monkey area, where we had to sit again while more than 100 people gathered to hear instructions. Even once inside the monkey area, there was more waiting—each family had to take turns receiving food, feeding the monkeys, and taking pictures. The entire process felt slow and disorganized. I wouldn’t repeat this tour. It seems they combine too many groups at once to reduce the number of presentations, but it ends up feeling chaotic and poorly managed.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Visitor, We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve. We understand your concerns regarding the duration of the monkey interaction and the waiting times throughout the tour. Our goal is to provide a safe and organized experience for all our guests, which sometimes requires coordinating multiple groups and following specific schedules. However, we recognize how this may affect the overall flow of the experience. Regarding the cocoa and coffee presentation, we value your comments and will work on making this part more interactive and engaging. We will also review our logistics to help reduce waiting times and improve the overall organization of the tour. Thank you again for your visit and your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.

The monkeys were a blast. Get ready to have them crawl and climb all over you. Touring the site with our guide Sammy was so interesting and beautiful. Taste testing the coffee, chocolate and other items was quite fun

Punta Cana Monkey Tour - Worth It!

Sophia_K, Mar 2026
The monkey experience was amazing! My kids really enjoyed it. The ride there & back was longer than I expected 45-60 mins one way. Plan to be away from the resort for 1/2 the day. The coffee/coco tour was ok, toward the end it sounded like a sales pitch to buy. Our driver & guide were great!

Trip highlight

Beatrice_B, Mar 2026
Amazing experience feeding the monkeys. Everyone is well informed and extremely organized. Shootout to our driver Brian and tour guide Emilio for all thr language translations. Transportation is long as multiple hotel pickups and dropoffs. Also, we were quoted $50 for the digital photo package or $10 for each print out.

Chaos

Frank_L, Mar 2026
Very unorganized and chaotic, a total mess. Very little direction from the staff unless you want to buy the products they’re selling. Save your money on this one.
