Great day

Carol was a pleasure to show us the sights! Very informative and attentive. Full of knowledge about the area. Being in a small group was great..as some groups were massive and no personal touch! Great vehicle to travel as well as snacks water beer and tequila if you wanted-a couple of surprise drops on way back to pineapple village-tried the local fruit (all included) and a chilli farm for chilli sauce.. great day-well worth the money

Fantastic Bacalar Day Trip

Our excursion to Bacalar was the highlight of our stop in Costa Maya. Despite our ship, Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas, being delayed by over an hour, the tour company handled everything perfectly. Their communication via WhatsApp was excellent, which really lowered our stress levels while waiting to dock. Once we got off, they met us at the designated location with a clear sign and walked us directly to our transport. We were a small, comfortable group of eight people from our ship. The Journey & Staff: Our driver, Moses, and our guide, Francesco, were both fantastic and fully bilingual. The AC van was a welcome relief from the heat for the 1 hour and 10-minute drive. On the way, Francesco even stopped at a street vendor to pick up fresh local pineapple and mango for us to enjoy later—a really thoughtful touch! The Experience: • The Lagoon: We boarded a pontoon boat and saw two stunning cenotes. We spent about an hour swimming in the crystal-clear fresh water of the lagoon. It was incredibly refreshing! • Amenities: There was a clean changing area and bathrooms available before we got on the boat. While on the water, the crew provided the fresh fruit, and there were plenty of complimentary drinks and beer available. • Lunch: We placed our orders during the drive so the food was ready when we arrived at the restaurant. I had the beef tacos and horchata, which were delicious. If you are a seafood lover, there were plentiful fish options on the menu as well. • Atmosphere: The restaurant had great service, was very clean, and even featured live music, which made for a great ending to the day. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to escape the crowded port area and see the "Lagoon of Seven Colors." Just a heads up—it is a bit of a drive, but Moses and Francesco made it easy and enjoyable!

Interesting tour & pleasant crew!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Frina with Toucan Tours. We even had a major hiccup and my family was delayed for the meeting place/time. They were so pleasant and helped us catch up with our group’s bus. Our tour guide was interesting and passionate about the information. We enjoyed the AC bus ride through the Mexican landscape, learning about the Mayan history and exploring the ruins. This tour added an interesting aspect to our fun in the sun vacation. This was our first time using Viator and we will use them again.

Perfect day- just not long enough

Really great experience. Easy fun day- wish we could have stayed longer. Easy transportation from cruise port, met at taxi drop off by hotel staff where they paid for the taxi and took us to our beachside chairs where we immediately ordered food and drinks and started relaxing. Food was amazing and drinks were too. I was with my 2 daughters ages 12 and 15- service was top notch and the massages were fantastic

A Cooking Class to Remember

What a wonderful cooking class! The setting was steps away from the beach. The food we prepared was delicious and plentiful. The chefs and owner were very friendly and shared their passion for the local cuisine. The company, the food and drinks options made this an experience I would repeat again. It is a short cab ride from the pier for $5.00/ person/ one way to the downtown area where the restaurant is located.

Need more clear directions.

Our experience was wonderful and easy, the only complaint is clearer communication on where to meet and who to ask for, we took Tucan Tours and were still taken to the incorrect location. I speak Spanish so we could resolve it but there needs to be very clear steps on how to get to the corrct location. otherwise it was perfect!

This was a great way to explore with a local company. Our tour guide, Siomara, was knowledgeable and friendly. She knew about history and nature and shared many interesting facts. On the way back we stopped at a roadside pineapple stand where we enjoyed fresh pineapple. I opted to purchase homemade upside down pineapple cake and fresh salsa. They also dropped us off a Mahahual at our request so we didn’t have to take a taxi back there from the port. Overall, a great day with a wonderful local business! Highly recommend.

Worth the drive

The meeting place was quite a distance from the port. The van had ac and took an hour to get to the lagoons. The lagoons were amazingly beautiful! The water was shallow and the temperature was nice. There weren’t really any fish, so no snorkeling. We had a short drive to get tacos, they were okay.

The ruins were great and the lagoon experience was beautiful. Our guide and driver Lorenzo was very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely experience and well worth the money!

Our time with this experience was great! The best was snorkeling with a sea turtle just inches from my face! The sea was very rough, though, and the tour guide should not have trusted us when we said we were good swimmers. Some of the swimmers had to get back in the boat, and others asked for their flotation device. Still, it was well worth it! The hosts were very friendly and very prompt with helping. The drinks and food were wonderful! The Beach lounge chairs were very nice. We could have done without the folks trying to sell their wears, however. We were interrupted at least three or four times per hour. The massage was good, though I’m not sure of their training or experience. Still it was a lovely massage next to the sea and under the open air. The locals give massages for $20 an hour. Based on the cost of the massage, meals for under 20 bucks each, and such, the price may have been a bit steep. However, the ease of not having to find those things on our own, and the friendliness of the hosts made it well worth it! The driver seemed to know where to drop us off, but he was not right. We had to ask and then walk a couple blocks to find the restaurant. We had the misconception that we should look for a resort, and it’s not. It’s basically a very small restaurant, maybe six tables, and the seating about 30 chase lounges toward the water. Some of the lounges were under a tarp, which made nice shade. Again, a wonderful day spent with wonderful hosts.

A very good tour!

There is a lot of walking! We did over 10,000 steps by 3:00 pm….. off the ship, off the pier… out of the port and finally to where we met up with our tour guide and driver. It was definitely worth it….. Ishmael was a wonderful guide and taught us much. The ruins are amazing to see. The pineapple was very sweet and tasty. The ride to the ruins was about 45 minutes but it allowed Ishmael to teach us. I recommend this tour.

Ruins and Lagoon

Everything was great. Be aware that finding them was tricky. Inside the port is a maze of stores that you have to weave thru to find an exit. Then outside, you pass thru security and pass by taxis. Keep going until to arrive at a tower. After that, the hosts were wonderful, friendly, knowledgable, and thoughtful. You will see a few ruins and Mayan culture. We then chose to do lunch before the lagoon. Lunch was good. Then off to a pontoon boat to discover 2 beautiful spots in the lagoon to swim. Our host, Carol was always asking if we need anything, from drinks to treats. Our boat driver cut up a pineapple and 2 mangos to serve us in the water. We had stopped along the way to pick those up. Rafael was our driver and kept us safe. I would recommend this tour thru this company.
