This was a fantastic tour. Our guide (Carol) was outstanding, so knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Don't hesitate to book this tour. The cenote is breathtaking, truly stunning. The water is crystal clear and you get to swim in the lagoon. Our guide brought a local pineapple to eat in the lagoon and we had tequila shots, it was really good fun. The Mayan Ruins were so interesting too. This was a real highlight of the many excursions we had booked during our cruise, it will not disappoint! Thank you so much Chac Ek (especially Carol) for the fab day with with you, we felt very looked after. Easily a 10 out of 10.

Juan and Miguel were both wonderful. Juan was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the ruins and history of the area. We had a private tour for 4. They got us there ahead of the crowds! The Boat ride and Lagoon was a marvelous way to wrap up the day. Highly recommend!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful day visiting the Chacchoben Ruins and Bacalar Lagoon, and we cannot recommend this excursion highly enough!
From the very beginning, this company was amazing with communication. A few days before our excursion, they contacted us through WhatsApp with very detailed instructions on exactly where and how to meet them. The port is very busy, so this was incredibly helpful. They even sent maps and photos so there was no confusion whatsoever. We felt completely safe and taken care of from the moment we arrived.
This was not a cruise-line excursion—we booked through a third party—but we had absolutely no concerns about making it back to our cruise on time. We returned with plenty of time to spare.
The excursion itself was fantastic. It was a very small group, which made the entire day feel relaxed and personal. We never felt rushed. We had plenty of time to explore the incredible Chacchoben ruins and, even more importantly, enough time to truly enjoy Bacalar Lagoon. The lagoon was simply stunning!
Francisco was an excellent guide. He shared so much fascinating information about the history of the area, the ruins, and the places we were visiting. He was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and made sure we understood and appreciated what we were seeing. Our driver, Manuel, was also excellent and made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the entire day.
If you're visiting this area and want to experience some of the very best it has to offer, I highly recommend this excursion. The communication, organization, small-group experience, history, beautiful scenery, and relaxed pace made it a truly memorable day.
PS: Lunch and snacks were all very yummy!

What a wonderful excursion! Our tour guide, Leo, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and shared the history and interesting facts about our different stops. The Bacalar Lake was the highlight of our entire trip. The water was so blue and perfect for swimming. I highly recommend this excursion. Also, a big thank you to our driver Erick, who stopped to get us a fresh pineapple to eat on the boat ride, and who drove us everywhere. Thank you for everything.

We had the most amazing experience. Do not pass this tour up. The staff and the experience we received surpassed all my expectations. The ruins were lovely and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We received so much information on the travel there and at the ruins. we were taken all around in a very comfortable van with snacks and drinks provided throughout the entire tour. After the tour of the ruins, we headed to a delicious taco lunch. Everything was fresh and authentic not just a tourist hotspot. After lunch, we headed to the lagoon. You will be taken out for a tour of the lagoon and swimming in a pontoon boat. I do not have the words to explain the lagoon. It was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend making sure to go there. It was the highlight of our entire trip. I need to add a special shout out to our tour guide Carol. She made our tour exquisite. The entire staff was absolutely wonderful, but Carol made our experience. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about this company and our experience for the day. Thank you Carol!

We loved this excursion! It was a nice mix to experience the ruins in Costa Maya and also get some time swimming/lounging the Lake Bacalar. We had a group of 5 and because we were doing both locations (most everyone else with this tour company seemed to be doing just one or the other) we got our own private van and tour guides. We had time for a nice local tacos meal near the lake after we got off the water. We did have to rush through both spots a bit so we could make back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. So my advice would be to get to the tour company as fast as you can so you can beat the rush at the ruins and have enough time to enjoy both spots and the mealtime. We’d definitely recommend the combo tour if your time at port is enough. For reference our ship was gangway down at 12:30pm and gangway back up at 6:30pm. The tour company was excellent and seemed to have a lot of different tours going that day, they seemed like one of the larger/largest companies not affiliated with the cruise line. Very organized and professional operation. The driver and guide was very aware of the time and was careful to make sure we made it back with a nice cushion on return.

We did the combo tour with Carol and Hassan and it was the best experience we’ve had on an excursion, we were a family of 6 and we had our own bus and was so personable, carol knows all the amazing facts and stories of both places and Hassan was able to drive us and keep us safe the whole trip and also managing time. We definitely recommend their company and won’t stop talking about it for years to come!

We had a private experience for our 14 family members (ages ranging from 2-82) and we all had an amazing experience! Carol was an excellent tour guide who customized our day to accommodate toddler tantrums, limited mobility, the summer heat, etc. We saw spider monkeys at the Mayan ruins, had delicious unlimited snacks/fresh fruit/drinks and lunch, thoroughly enjoyed jumping repeatedly into the Cenote, and the water at Bacalar Lagoon was spectacular! Everyone enjoyed the crystal clear water and had the best day in Costa Maya! Highly recommend this!!!

This company has everything really planned and they execute well on timing and on providing a fabulous experience. They took us to all the places they promised, and it was amazing! Great day! First going to the ruins, then boating into the 7 color Lagoon and spending time swimming. They provide lots of snacks, fresh fruit, beer and Tequilla. You finish off with an authentic lunch was really good. Our guide was so much fun and made our group of 6 excursion great. We were only our group of 6 so no big group to deal with. Meeting point was easy to find. Wouid highly recommend this tour. Request Ralphael.

We were excited to do this excursion, however, choppy seas and strong winds prevented our ship from docking in Costa Maya. I let Chac Ek (operator) know and within the hour they worked with Viator to get our booking fully refunded. Was grateful to get such great service and an easy resolution.
Hopefully we’ll be back sometime soon to do this tour!

Leo and staff at Chac Ek were phenomenal. This activity has been on of the best adventures we’ve taken as a family. It was a perfect balance of gorgeous historical lagoon time, a locally made lunch, followed by an outstanding visit at the Mayan ruins. Absolutely fantastic tour guide.

This was the best excursion we did on our trip. We had a group of 13 people ranging from 6 to 74 years old and everyone enjoyed it. The company was great with communication through What's App, responding quickly to all my questions. Finding our tour guide outside the port was easy and everything was a smooth process. The first thing our guide did was confirm the time we had to be back to our ship and went over the entire schedule for the day to make sure we were comfortable with the timeline and they had us back in more than enough time to wander shops in the port before we had to be back on the ship. Juan Corona was an awesome guide and Miguel was our driver. Juan Corona was so informative about the ruins and they got us there before the buses full of people arrived so we basically had the place to ourselves. We stopped at a local restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious (included in the tour price). We stopped and got fresh pineapple and mango that Juan gave us as a snack at the lagoon. The lagoon was everyone's favorite part. It was beautiful and so refreshing just relaxing in the water. Highly recommend this tour!

Outstanding experience. Clear communication from the very beginning regarding where to find the guide after leaving the cruise ship including text and video instructions. Juan was a fantastic guide. Professional, funny, sincere, always ready to help with pictures and providing interesting information regarding what we were seeing every step of the way. I cannot give a higher recommendation! Visiting the ruins was a wonderful experience and we saw several monkeys that stopped by for some close up pictures. The lagoon was gorgeous and the experience was enhanced with fresh pineapple and mangos served to us by Juan while enjoying the water. Lunch was delicious and provided plenty of tasty food. Drinks and snacks were appreciated as well1 Amazing tour!!!

This was a fantastic excursion experience, which included a nice range of activities. My husband and I really enjoyed our tour of the historic Mayan ruins, and our tour guide Juan did a fantastic job explaining the history behind it. Lunch was delicious; we had a decent variety of authentic dishes to choose from. Bacalar was also great, the water was beautiful and we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy ourselves. The entire excursion was very well organized and our time was managed well. We highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Costa Maya.

Juan was our tour guide. He did an amazing job educating us about Chaccoben and the Mayan culture. We were spoiled with food and drink and we're able to have lunch on the beautiful lagoon. Juan did a great job making sure all our questions were answered and that we stayed on schedule. We arrived back to the port on time. Highly recommend. Only thing I would say is if you tend to get car sick maybe take some medicine beforehand as the drive is about an hour each way.

It was very rushed, but you had to drive for over an hour to get where we were going. The sites were breathtaking. The lunch was amazing. Our guide Leo was perfect. If I could give him 10 stars I would. He was very knowledgeable, very kind, very friendly and welcoming. He was great with our baby and our son too, which can be very quiet. He did a great job explaining things about Mexico and the Mayan culture and even other cultures. Thanks Leo and our driver for a great experience! Simply wish we had more time!

Everything was great. Be aware that finding them was tricky. Inside the port is a maze of stores that you have to weave thru to find an exit. Then outside, you pass thru security and pass by taxis. Keep going until to arrive at a tower. After that, the hosts were wonderful, friendly, knowledgable, and thoughtful. You will see a few ruins and Mayan culture. We then chose to do lunch before the lagoon. Lunch was good. Then off to a pontoon boat to discover 2 beautiful spots in the lagoon to swim. Our host, Carol was always asking if we need anything, from drinks to treats. Our boat driver cut up a pineapple and 2 mangos to serve us in the water. We had stopped along the way to pick those up. Rafael was our driver and kept us safe. I would recommend this tour thru this company.

We had such a great day! Unfortunately our cruise ship was late getting into port, so the first part of our excursion was cancelled. We did go to Seven Colors lagoon ands it was fantastic. Our guide was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the area and forthcoming with the information. Another guest specifically took this excursion because Seven Colors has a spot when the oldest living organism in the world is still thriving. Stromatolites. Wonderful excursion!

Our combo tour to Chacchoben and Bacalar Lagoon was absolutely outstanding, and our guide, Juan Corona, made it unforgettable.
At Chacchoben, Juan brought the archaeological site to life. His knowledge of Mayan history and culture was impressive, and he explained everything in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. We didn’t just walk through ruins, we understood what we were seeing and why it mattered.
After exploring the ruins, we headed to the breathtaking Bacalar Lagoon. Juan shared the fascinating history of the lagoon and its significance to the region, which made the experience even more meaningful. As if the views weren’t enough, he thoughtfully prepared fresh fruit for us to enjoy by the water. Such a refreshing and personal touch!
He was also a fantastic driver, navigating the roads safely and making us feel completely at ease throughout the entire trip.
If you’re visiting Costa Maya and considering this combo tour, don’t hesitate. And if you’re lucky enough to have Juan Corona as your guide, you’re in for an exceptional experience.

Top notch experience with professional and experienced guides. The Mayan historical sites are fascinating to see and the knowledgeable guide was very enthusiastic about explaining everything about them.
The Bacalar lagoon was magnificent in its clarity and color and is a natural wonder to behold.

I participated in the combo tour and it was excellent value for money with Carol our versed tour guide explaining the history of the Chacchoben Mayan ruins and then a wonderful experience on the Bacalar lagoon. Everything was well timed and time flew fast without feeling rushed nor bored. A delicious lunch is included at a local restaurant and we were even served exotic fruits as our group waded in the beautiful blue shades of the Bacalar lagoon. I strongly recommend this combo tour to cover two of the main regional sites.

What an amazing experience and day all around! Starting the day at Chacchoben did not disappoint — my husband and I were super excited to see the ruins, as we are history / architecture nerds and WOW it was AMAZING! Our tour guide Leo was super knowledgeable about the history, the culture, and provided lots of extra knowledge about the local plant and animal life which was wonderful! We got there right in time to stay ahead of the large crowds. Following the ruins, we got to eat at a local restaurant with authentic cuisine (included in the price) and it was a VERY cool atmosphere and the food was SO GOOD! Baccalar lagoon was absolutely breathtaking and the water was so clean and clear. Unbelievable experience from start to finish. Shoutout to Leo who did a phenomenal job, answered all of our questions, and made the experience that much better!
