The guides were easy to find and gave us a thorough history of the area. The lunch was excellent and so were the drinks. The lagoon however was not the beautiful blue as pictured. Kayaking against the currents was a workout.

We did a lot of waiting, and a lot of driving, and only had ten minutes to go out on the kayak. The drive time was not worth it. Only part of the kayak tour was guided and she had to go take care of other clients because they had too many clients booked. We waited for more time than we actually had time with a guide at any part of the time we spent there.

Magali- Maggie, our guide and Abell, our driver were both excellent! Abell was great as a pot hole avoider, and offered water and made sure van was comfortable temperature for all. Maggie was a gracious host telling us about local flora and fauna . She helped everyone - all 6 of us with kayaks and we kayaked across the lagoon - she even jumped out of her kayak to get me some of the clay/ mud at the bottom of the lagoon that is used for cosmetic- beauty treatments. After a delicious taco lunch we headed back. A very beautiful day in a very scenic location . Highly recommend this group vs the Royal Carribean cruise tours of massive people.

I recommended this trip to several friends that we were cruising with, but this was not the same experience as it was 2 years ago. The location changed from a serene, manicured property to little more than an open, unkempt lot. The pictures on Viator reflect the previous location and should be removed. Our driver and guide did their jobs well, and the kayaking was fun. Lunch and drinks were as promised. But our time was not relaxing and felt rushed. Several of the lounge chairs were broken and we were left feeling disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this trip until they are able to return to the original site.

Beautiful lagoon, friendly and helpful guide, solid lunch of tacos and drinks. Drive is an hour plus both ways only downside. Communication with guides in advance was very helpful and clear. Vehicle for travel was nice.

We took this same excursion in April with friends, and it was fantastic. So we wanted to go back with our family. But the location this time was different, and not the one shown in the photos. And not nearly as nice. Amaury was our guide and he was excellent. As was Alan the last time we went. The food was also excellent both times. But the change in location was frustrating and we didn’t feel like we got what we thought we paid for.

Great day and beautiful water. Tour operators had to move the location due to flooding at original location. They offered us 3 choices.
Upgrade at no extra fee to a pontoon boat ride to see different parts of the lagoon and 2 swim stops. It also included lunch and drinks like the original. This is what we choose. Our tour guide and driver were both great. The boat ride was fun. Water was crystal clear and beautiful. We had fun swimming and enjoying some beverages. Then back to the launch area for a taco lunch and mixed adult beverages before heading back to port.

Fabulous Day, checking out Ruins and then snorkeling the 7 colors lagoon. Unfortunately the 7 colors were of brown instead of blue as we hit a nice rain storm and no sun. We still canoed the Lagoon and had fun. Alan, Eric & Pedro were our team of driver and Tour guides. They were great.

The trip was very nice. The resort we went to was better than I have expected. The lagoon at the time we visited was not 7 colors, the guide explained that was because of the recent rain. That is understandable. Overall the trip was very enjoyable.

The kids loved it. I love it. Miguel and Lorenzo were great guides/driver. So glad that we went private and not with the cruise excursions.
The only downfall was that it was raining the whole time, so the lagoon just looked bleh. Great news was that they provided umbrellas.
Despite the rain the kids still enjoy the free drinks and their tik toks.

Alan is super nice, and people super attentive at the lagoon. The color of the lagoon was not as the pictures, the trip to get to the lagoon was approximately 50 min. We were back to the pier at least 1 h before our boarding time.
If you get early is pretty relaxing later a lot of people arrive.

The lagoon was amazing. Fresh water which was so refreshing and beautiful. The tacos and salsa/chips were fine for lunch. The bar options were limited but something for everyone (beer, water, rum, horchata, etc). The only down side was some challenges getting checked in as they first stated they didn't have transportation for us and suggested we go with another group to the ruins which we did not want to do. They finally worked it out and found a small van we could fit in with two other groups. The ride was about an hour long one way and was extremely bumpy. Not the most pleasant journey but the water/resort was worth the trip.

Beautiful scenery and water was amazing. Yacks were a lot of work so prepare the little ones. Great for pre teens and teens. Ran out of complimentary drinks and long travel from the cruise port. Would highly recommend overall though

Alan was an excellent tour guide! He gave us fascinating information about the local economy, geography, and history. Abner was a great driver and we appreciated him getting us back safely. We were the only family at the resort for most of our time there- it was secluded and peaceful! We didn’t fight crowds or vendors, and we were able to really relax. We enjoyed the kayak experience- great workout and a chance to explore the lagoon more closely! The lunch was AMAZING with pork or chicken tacos that were obviously homemade. Also came with 4 delicious sauce options, pico de gallo, and tortilla chips. Try the habanero with the pineapple sauce- YUM! I especially loved the green tomatillo sauce. We also really loved the special drinks Alan made with local tequila, pineapple juice, grenadine, and a liqueur. We had access to beer, other mixed drinks, water, and sodas as well. The kids loved the virgin Pina Coladas! I recommend bringing water shoes and a change of clothes, but we didn’t really end up needing the towels we brought. The only suggestion I have for Native Choice is to provide a cooler of bottled waters for the van trip out to the resort. Overall, great price for a wonderful day!

The water was beautiful and the resort we went to was nice. The tacos were very yummy and the staff was nice! I do wish they guided us on the kayaks instead of just exploring freely. I would have liked for them to lead us and maybe tell us about the lagoon. The ride was definitely rough as well but all in all it was good.

This was a great day off our cruise! Allen was our guide and he was awesome! He was kind and informative. The kayaking is moderate, but not for people who do not know how to do it. It takes about 30-45 min for the tour. Allen had to go back out and pull/drag a couple people all the way back in as they couldn't paddle. (He's amazing, and smiled the whole way!). Don't panic though, I think that's rare, as we paddled next to an 8 year old in his own kayak, for the tour and he did great! The area is secluded, beautiful and the drinks were real! Thanks Allen, Fernando (he also pulled back a couple people who didn't know how to paddle) and our sweet bartenders for a fun day!❤️. You all are the best!

The hardest part was getting out of the port and finding the pickup. But once there, it was easy check in and the ride was in a comfortable van with A/C and a very kind driver. We arrived at a very beautiful, quaint private resort (first group to arrive which I rec) so we could choose our beach chairs and went on the kayaks. We had a nice time - returned to a wonderful taco meal all you can eat and drink. Alan was a WONDERFUL host and my family rated this our top excursion on our cruise.

Well out of Belize City (a bit over 1 hour) and down a long unpaved road off the main road is a BEAUTIFUL little resort which provides good food, free drinks (think Pina Coladas) good swimming (Bring water shoes if you have them as the big rocks in the water are slippery at times), and a very nice 40 minute or so Kayak tour (Good exercise). The water is wonderful and NOT salty.

Snorkeling was great, saw lots of fish! not enough time on the beach. The crew was very attentive and I enjoyed watching the line dancers

Too long to get there, very bumpy road, limited seating under shade, minimal lunch. Poor instructions on meeting point and name of vender.

We understand your concerns regarding the journey duration and road conditions. The closest access to Bacalar from Costa Maya Port does take approximately an hour due to its location. We strive to provide a comfortable experience despite any challenges posed by the road conditions.
Regarding meeting instructions, we do provide additional detailed instructions, a Google Maps link, a map, and photos of the meeting point alongside the information already in the tour description. We regret if this information wasn't clear or sufficient for you, and we will ensure to review and improve upon it.
Your feedback on seating under shade and the lunch provided is noted, and we will take steps to enhance these aspects of the tour.
