After disembarking proceed to walk to the parking lot where the red golf carts are located, there we have a van with our logo on them and then one of our drivers will take you to our office. Our office is located one block from the port exit on the left side of the Mayan temple.

Bikes were fun, Costa Maya was a bit sketchy. We rode from the shop to the “boardwalk” where we were offered numerous massages and “free” places to sit on the beach. The beach smelled horrible - maybe due to storms or maybe due to the seaweed? We don’t feel comfortable stopping, even at the beach that was included with our bike rental. After riding down the boardwalk, my teen boys and I decided we felt more comfortable returning to the ship so we rode back to Toucans and they drove as back.
All in all the service at Toucans was great, Costa Maya just wasn’t a port we would get off at again.

Getting to the bikes was fairly simple. We had a little bit of a problem finding the correct people, but when we did, they were very helpful and everything went smoothly.

The meeting place instructions were not correct and we had trouble finding the pick up location. The e-bikes were fine and a great way to cruise down the boardwalk. Once we dropped off the bikes, we were told they were unable to drop us back off to the meeting location and we had to walk back instead. The walk back to the ships is very long, so adding the additional walk from the rental location was a bummer.

Toucan tours was super responsive prior to the booking. Directions for locating them off the ship was perfect. They were timely. Provided a nice AC van to get to their shop. It is within easy walking distance of the ship. The bikes were good. Easy to get to the beach which is the main destination. Water was included at both ends of the trip. Highly recommend this shop!

To get to the location you must exit the port area and past the taxis. Probably a 15-20min walk. Water provided before and after arrival

We walked feom the cruise terminal using our maps app. It was about a 10 minute walk to Toucan Tours. We arrived and they had our reservation and was ready for us. About 10 minutes into our ride on the electric bikes, mine stopped. My husband called the number given us and the options were all in Spanish. We flagged down a local who came over and called Toucan tours for us. He explained to them where we were and gave him a little something for his much needed help. Once Toucan was notified, they were there within 10 minutes with a replacement bike. We were on our way for the rest of the day for a beautiful day at the boardwalk.

We were slightly apprehensive about renting the bikes because we drive on the left in the UK. But there was no need to worry. Cycling along the sea front was fantastic. We stopped at 3 or 4 places along the way to admire the view, have a drink and eat lunch. The rental itself went really well. The staff were really helpful and we would definitely use them again

So much fun! Ebikes are the perfect way to get around Costa Maya. The rental staff were friendly and helpful. We got a map and, unexpectedly, they referred us to a beachfront restaurant where we were given complimentary beach access with chairs and umbrella. We had chips with delicious guacamole for lunch (not included) and my wife got an hour long massage for only 25USD. The bikes were fun and fast and we felt safe.

Ship could not dock due to rough seas. Sent multiple messages with no reply (very poor communication). No refunds given. Not recommended for people on Cruise ships unless you want your $ at risk.

We rented e-bikes to ride to Mahaluha Beach. It was an enjoyable ride and we had chairs available for us at one of the beach bars included.

This was a wonderful experience for our group of ten cruise ship travelers. The bikes at Toucan Tours were in perfect condition and we had no trouble with them at all. The owner was super kind and treated us great. We biked down the beach to Mahahual and continued on for three miles. It was a beautiful ride except for some trash along the beaches. We couldn't believe we could keep the bikes for up to seven hours for such a low price!

Riding bicycles in this port city is safe and easy. The Malecon is delightful. We spent about 90 minutes riding around and talking to some of the locals. The restaurants and bars looked like great places to hang out, but we were still full from breakfast and it was too early to drink! All in all, a great way to spend a few hours to see the city and enjoy the friendly, small town atmosphere and at a great price compared to the cruise ship excursions.

This was a fun way to see Costa Maya. The rental place was easy to find and they had our bikes ready and waiting for us. As others commented, the potholes make navigating a little difficult but once we got the hang of avoiding them, all was good. We enjoyed being able to venture out on our own without a guide. We took advice from a prior review and continued down the dirt road after the boardwalk ends. This was the highlight of the day as there were beautiful views and we were able to ride the bikes without crowds. In all, this was a really fun day for our family!

The e-bikes were perfect for our needs and easy to handle. Directions from staff were excellent and appreciate the heads up about the rough conditions of the road. The road had rough spots and speed bumps but overall, the rental of the bikes was well worth it. We enjoyed our time in Costa Maya and loved being able to explore as we pleased. The partnership with one of the bars/cafes on the beach was great as it allowed us a good rest stop to grab some food, park our bikes, sit and enjoy the beach for a bit and get a nice massage. Would definitely do this again in the future.

Having been to Costa Maya before, I was determined to find something to do outside the port. I also wanted to support locals. We decided to rent e-bikes from Toucan Tours. It turned out to be a great day! Their office is a quick walk from the port exit. They greeted us quickly and got us on our bikes. We had never ridden e-bikes before so they gave us a little demo and let us practice. Then, they gave us each a bottle of water and a map. We were off on our adventure. We followed their directions and quickly found the Malecon. We rode through that and kept going even after the pavement ended. That was the best part! The road follows the coastline and has a jungle feel. We rode for a while before turning around. Back in town, we stopped for one-hour his/her massages on the beach ($25-30 each). Then, we rode back to Toucan Tours to turn in our bikes. There are lots of potholes and rough roads, but bikes are a perfect way to get around the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and were so happy we opted to rent bikes from Toucan Tours. If back in Costa Maya again, we would do this same thing again. Highly recommend!

I tried a few bikes out and they were very obliging to get me the one the worked the best for me. It is not their responsibility to pave the roads, so it is ours to ride safely and avoid as many pot holes as possible. We did not have any issues, but they gave us a number to call if anything came up and they would come meet us to help.
The e-bikes were very fun and great personal transport. It was still very hot outside so the waters they gave us came in handy, and the bikes were pretty fast so we could feel a nice breeze. We rode down the beach strip to the particular spot included in our bike rental, laid in some loungers with our bikes parked, enjoyed rum punch and mango daiquiri rimmed with tajín. I got in the water for a little while and then went through the vendors to haggle prices for our souvenirs! All in all it was a very nice day. Watch out for pedestrianss, pot holes, and speed bumps!

The directions to find the company were very poor. We ended up walking way past the building. We were naturlalooking for a Viator sign. It's not, it's a Toucan Tours building. We ahd a great time on the bikes. For 4 members it was their first time on an e-bike, and they lived it. We were directed to a beach area that they are associated with, so we had free use of the beach area and restrooms. We parked our bikes and enjoyed a cool beer. Unfortunately we couldn't figure out how to start one of the bikes. A rep from the company had to ride out to help us. It happened to be a hidden button on the handlebars. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time.

Bikes were older. Mine had no front brake and marginal rear. Staff was nice. Quick pickup and return. Fun area along the boardwalk.

This was our first time and it was great!
We rode to the boardwalk and stopped and had lunch and drinks, we wished ee had our swimsuits as as the boardwalk is right on a great stretch of water.
Just had a hard time finding y'all.
