What are people saying about Barcelona

Outstanding Experience!
This was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona! Hugo and Lorenzo were absolutely wonderful and made the entire experience so memorable. The class was small, only eight people total, which we loved. It was us and three other couples from Norway, London, and Germany, so it felt intimate and personal rather than like a typical large tour. The entire experience was incredibly well done. It was structured and organized, but at the same time felt very natural, relaxed, and organic. We started with a visit to the market, which was such a great experience on its own. Hugo and Lorenzo were engaging and educational throughout, and we learned so much without it ever feeling like a formal lesson. The cooking portion was just as wonderful. The kitchen was clean, cozy, and welcoming, and everyone was able to participate. We made our own sangria, which was amazing, and the paella we made was by far the best paella we had during our entire trip to Barcelona! What really made the experience stand out was the atmosphere. It felt less like a tourist activity and more like spending an afternoon cooking, eating, drinking, and getting to know new people. Everything flowed so naturally, and Hugo and Lorenzo were fantastic hosts. We absolutely loved it and would recommend this experience without hesitation. If you’re visiting Barcelona and want something that’s fun, authentic, educational, and personal, this is a must-do!

Amazing Cooking Class
The hosts were incredibly nice and welcoming. My daughter and I had so much fun learning how to make the different dishes. Chef Alfonso has all of the recipes dialed in. They were easily some of our favorite dishes we had in Barcelona! The view from their apartment is also spectacular. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

From market to table: the highlight of our Barcelona trip
If you’re considering a paella cooking class in Barcelona, book this one—you won’t regret it. We were fortunate to have Chef Mateo, and since it was just the two of us for the Saturday 11:00 a.m. class, the experience felt like a private cooking lesson. He struck the perfect balance between teaching, storytelling, and making the class fun. The market tour was one of the highlights. At every stop, Chef Mateo explained the ingredients, why they were selected, and their importance in authentic paella. If it’s your first visit to the market, be prepared—it can be a bit overwhelming, so having an expert guide you through it makes all the difference. Back at the cooking school, the kitchen was spotless, cool, and beautifully modern. Throughout the class, Chef Mateo shared the history of paella, demonstrated traditional techniques, explained the purpose of the utensils, and answered every question with patience and enthusiasm. This was so much more than a cooking class—it was a cultural experience. We left with a delicious meal, the confidence to recreate it at home, and a much deeper appreciation for Spanish cuisine. One of the best experiences of our time in Barcelona. Highly recommended!

Amazing Cocktail Making Experience
For some context, we flew in from the United States on a red eye, so we were running on no sleep. This experience was amazing. There were 3 parties in the group, 9 of us total, and the group got along great. We were able to bounce jokes off each other easily, and the group definitely help make the experience a fun one. We had Darragh as our instructor. He was funny, witty, very informative too. We made four cocktails; some had some variations depending on preferences. They were a Cosmopolitan, Margarita, Basil Smash and Espresso Martini. Darragh walked us thru the background of each cocktail and why we shake, mix, or smash the ingredients. In addition, they gave us a fairly large spread of tapas to share. It was plenty of food for us. He kept us engaged throughout the class which was very appreciated from the lack of sleep. If you want to meet some new people and have a fun experience, I highly recommend this class.
