Our friendly tour driver guide Hanoz was terrific, providing interesting commentaries on Hobbiton and Auckland as well as New Zealand history and culture, while driving professionally and safely, for a comfortable mini-bus ride from downtown Auckland to Hobbiton and back. The drive from Auckland to Hobbiton takes over two hours and Hanoz's personable style and humour seemed to make the time go by fast. Good job Hanoz! Being a fan of The Lord Of The Rings movies, I was looking forward to visiting the set and the set tour did not disappoint! Molly, our enthusiastic and knowledgeable Hobbiton guide was fantastic, providing the background and inside information of how many of the memorable scenes of the three movies were created at the actual set locations. We had ample time to take pictures and videos as we were guided through the sprawling set. This was a super fun experience and I highly recommend it, especially if you're a fan of the movies, or aspire to be one.

Jerome was a great tour guide and, because it was just me, he tailored the tour to what I wanted to see, and we just went with the vibe. The weather was also great so that worked in our favor. I really appreciated this tour company because even though it was just me, they went ahead and ran the tour vs. a bunch of other companies would’ve asked me to switch or cancel. Highly recommend!

Excellent experience! Highly recommended. It was very informative. We were able to see numerous dolphins, orcas (very rare as per the guides) , penguins and lots of birds. Make sure you dress warm as it does get chilly in the boat. The tour was well organized. The team members are all marine scientists and are able to give us good information and answer all questions.
