- Hot Water Beach access is tide-dependent and may not always be possible for safety reasons.
- Tracks may be unsafe during or after heavy rain; alternative arrangements will be made if required.
- Bring swimwear and a towel if you wish to swim. Closed-in, sturdy footwear is mandatory.
- Children aged 7 and under must use a child safety seat. You may bring your own or hire one for NZ$20 with 24 hours’ notice.
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.

Truly a magical experience! Our guides Jayme and Calvin were wonderful. It was so helpful to learn about the area from Māori people with such deep roots, so much love, and so much knowledge of the critical history of this place! Also, Jayme has jokes for days and I love that. The hikes were beautiful, the scenery unbelievable, the hot water beach was killer, and cathedral cove is stunning and so fun to body surf for a little while. Cannot recommend this tour more, it was such a great way to spend a day.

Absolutely beautiful, be sure to bring good shoes for hiking a little. You may want to bring water shoes for the hot water beach.
A change of clothes and a microfiber towel. All in all great experience, and scenery

This was a tour as beautiful as can be.A lovely road through hillside and the ocean. The river Firth of Thames was amazing. The cove is aptly named. The tour guide was specially co-oprative and cordial. She allowed us to enjoy the walk to the ocean as well as the water taxi ride for those that wanted it. She updated us on the history and geography of NZ. She did a great job.

An amazing day trip with a nice and short hike to the Cathedral Cove (there seems to be an alternative way to go as well by paying $40 and taking a water taxi, but I definitely recommend the hike to take in Coromandel). The beach itself is beautiful with plenty of space and avenues to take pictures and take a dip.
The hot water beach on the other hand is okayish. Not bad but nothing super spectacular itself. However the trip is worth just the first half. Also our guide, Ari was absolutely amazing with tidbits of trivia and making the journey quite fun.

Excellent trip with Cheeky Kiwi travel & Dave as our guide - about 11 of us on a long 12 hour tour.
Dave certainly made the trip special by making the most of time and having us experience additional scenic spots not on the itinerary (including take away lunch at a near by beach).
The hot water beach is a hit or miss in terms of finding a good spot with water that’s more than luke warm. We ended up spending more time in the actual water.
The hike to the cove was moderately intense (there’s a boat ride available for NZ$40 pp per way), especially if you’re not in shape. The cove and beach were well worth it.
Overall, memorable trip, highly recommend.

Bring a towel and sunscreen. Wear runners. There a 160 ish stairs at the end and some of them have no hand rails. You can take a water taxi back to a different beach for $40 each adult

A day of great experiences . I loved cathedral cove. I wasn’t so bothered about hot water beach. Too busy and limited area to find any hot water that someone else not already taken. More a gimmick to me. Great extra unscheduled stops.
4star not 5 only because I’ve not had a guide effectively ask for tips before and he was happy to set off driving whilst I was still standing not yet in my seat buckled up. He was impatient and I was not delaying the day at all. Spoilt it for me.

What an absolutely fantastic experience. From the pick up at my hotel, the journey and the really personable and knowledgable guide the day was just brilliant.
We went to Cathedral Cove first and we were lucky to have lovely weather. The walk to the cove is lovely but uphill on the way back and the beach is stunning. It was just the right amount of time and the guide was back at the top at our arranged time.
We then stopped for lunch in a little town and there were plenty of choices of venues, I chose the beach cafe and was rewarded with the most amazing fresh lunch.
Then we went to the hot water beach which was brilliant fun, I even went for a swim in the sea.
I can't recommend this day out enough, it is a long drive but the rewards for the journey outweigh the time in the lovely air conditioned bus.
As a solo traveller I met other solo travellers and I think this is a great way to see places and meet others.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this

This really was a lovely day, travelling with a mixed group of people from several counties. Jeoff was our driver/ guide and he quickly helped us to interact and make friends with our fellow Cheeky Kiwi travellers and this set the mood for the day. The star of this trip is Cathedral Cove, where you get about 3 hours or so to explore. On the way down to the Cove, there is an optional path to a lookout. If you have the time and inclination, give that a look first before going down to the Cove. You'll be rewarded with a great view from a secluded spot that shouldn't have as many people. Then you can backtrack and head down to the Cove and the beach.
Great job by our guides Simon and Liam who expertly handled all the logistics, which were challenged by a rainy day, but otherwise we got to see the Cove and had a nice lunch afterward (it's quite a hike with steps and hills) before heading back.

We had an amazing day with our nice guide Ark. We couldn’t do the Hot Beach because of the tides but we made up for it with an incredible trip in this beautiful peninsula. Cathedral Cove is very beautiful and it’s really worth it to do the hike to get there .
We had a nice lunch in Hahei , we then saw Cooks beach and the lookout, we then climbed a volcano for a nice view and went to another nice beach to swim. It was a very very full and beautiful day!

I quite enjoyed this tour because you get to spend a good amount of time in each destination and it allows you enough time to hike and swim at the cathedral cove. Also, our tour guide Ari made several stops so we could stretch our legs and get some snack and walk around for a bit. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something that isn’t too strenuous.

This was an amazing tour of the beaches. Simon worked hard to make sure the experience was a good one for us. Shovels at hot beach, the hike down to Cathedral Cove and special spots for photos, snacks and lunch (not included) made it a great time for participants to mingle together.
Although swimming is an option, I wasn't interested in swimming but there was plenty to do and see anyway. Would highly recommend.

Great trip and a very nice and kind tourist guide. The only thing I would like for the tour to change is the scheduled time for coffee and lunch. Coffee is scheduled for 40 minutes, and lunch for an hour, so the hike to the cathedral cove feels rushed, especially for slow walkers. Some people couldn't make it all the way to the cove because they had to go back to be on time for the departure, and if you want to get in the water, you only have a few minutes, depending on your hiking ability. I know the tour advises on the hiking, but I think it could work better if coffee and lunch time were shorter than scheduled.
