What are people saying about Auckland

Hanoldze, our tour guide, is awesome!
Hanoldze was our tour guide and he is just great at what he does. Everything went smoothly from pick up to drop off. Instructions were clear, so there is no confusion. The Hobbiton trip was so much fun and enjoyable. The glow worm cave was a very cool attraction too, unique as I’ve never had that experience in any of the cave tours I had ever done. The restaurant, The Thirsty Wetta, was a very good choice. Every one in our group enjoyed our meals.
Well planned trip! Thank you.

An afternoon of fun and nature
Staff was awesome, a lot of great information from Mairie, gave me great context on my second day in Auckland. Also it may be tour dependent, but we stopped at a place near the start of the tour where we could buy a grab and go lunch (with our own money)- I had just ate because I didn’t think we’d be eating, but just an FYI if you’re planning on going. Highly recommend the tour!

Wow what a great day
We went with cheeky kiwi tours who proved to be excellent. We were on a short time frame but able to do this while our cruise ship was in port. Driver picked us up on time and dropped us off close to port at. 6.45pm plenty of time to make our boarding time. The whole bus ride in was entertaining as the driver pointed out lots of different places. At Hobbiton you are transported by the big green bus to the actual movie set. The set is in the middle of a working farm and we saw lots of lambs and sheep. The tour is a walking tour around all the houses. They have built a whole house do you can really explore and experience how it feels from the inside. We ended the tour at the inn where we had a cider. Would recommend this for all ages it was great fun even if you have never seen any of the movies. We had a little rain but umbrellas were provided.

Wonderful and breathtaking
Our guide Jaime, was superb! He had to change course a few times. The first was when the road closed, due to an accident and we couldn’t go through to get to Cathedral Cove. So, he drove us to this little marina area and we are lunch a bit early. The second was when we arrived and just for myself he noticed I was having a few physical challenges with Cathedral Cove. It was quite a hike, and involved quite a few stairs. So, if you have difficulty with stairs, I suggest you skip this activity, or find one that will ferry you after you have walked down. Jaime was flexible with time so that when I finally arrived I got to enjoy some time at the cove. He was also a wealth of information about the area as well as livestock, farming, and even the reindeer that reside in the mountains.
The second portion of our tour was to the hot water beach. Jaime again was very flexible with timing ensuring everyone got to have a fabulous time!

A wonderful way to see...
A wonderful way to see the sights of Auckland. Patience and care given to my not very able bodied sister. Great knowledge of Auckland and its history. A most enjoyable experience. Couldn't be more satisfied and will encourage others to see Auckland this way.

Perfect day!
This was an amazing experience all around! Danny was a wonderful guide and shared lots of cool facts and stories throughout the day. Hobbiton is so much fun even if you aren’t a huge LOTR fan! Honestly the best part is the cave and glow worms. So beautiful and unique and really highlights the wonder of nature. The pacing of the day was perfect! While we were gone for 11.5 hours there were nice breaks and treats in between. Danny did a great job taking care of us all! You do not want to miss this one!!

Great tour experience
Pick up was great. Driver was right on time. Hanoz was knowledgeable about the area and the sites we visited on our tour. He kept the group engaged and his banter was friendly. The glow worm caves were spectacular. At Te Puia, we learned a lot about the Maōri culture. This activity seemed a bit fast-paced...wish we had more time to enjoy the area, learn their customs, and experience the hot springs.

The best way to see “the real” Auckland!
Wow…just wow. I took the tour this morning, and it exceeded all my expectations of any previous tour I have done. Jono, our guide, has an incredible local knowledge and was telling us interesting facts for the whole journey. I found his ability to speak some Māori and explain the traditional links with all the places we visited particularly insightful.
This tour takes you out of the CBD and into the suburbs; something you don’t get with the hop-on-hop-off buses. This really was the best way to get a sense of the “real Auckland”. We drove out to the harbour, Northshore, Mount Eden, and then along the coastline to beautiful little beaches at Mission Bay and St. Helier’s, (as well as lots of other places)
Designated stops have been put on for photo opportunities and time to soak up the scenery.
It was a lovely small group of 6 travellers, which made the van nice and spacious.
I honestly cannot recommend this tour more highly, I feel this should be a must on your Auckland itinerary. I spent the whole tour dreaming of what lovely little suburb I’d like move to 😂.

Rotorua is a must see while visitiing New Zealand
We loved Rotorua! We had two tour guides on our trip - Pete and Maryanne. Both were Māori. The stories they told us were amazing. It made the experience so personal. The landscape was spectacular. We loved seeing the mud pools and geysers. We even had a chance to see kiwis - they are sooo cute. We highly recommend this tour.

Great day tour of Auckland
Danny drove around Auckland bay, stopping along the way for over views of the city, a visit to the glass arboretum, a walk around the War museum, a moderately easy short walk up Mt Eden crater, a lovely wine tasting at Soljan’s vineyard and lunch at River Head restaurant. All and more, as described in his Viator description. Wonderful day!

Fantastic
Excellent tour for first-time travellers - sights, history. Jason was a good storyteller, knowledgeable, proud of his city, and possessed a good sense of humour that made the tour fun! He even gave tips on how to self-explore the city. I highly recommend the tour and Jason!

Beautiful day full of interesting activities.
This was a great all day tour. It was my first day in Auckland and morning was a great introduction into my surroundings. A stop for a famous Auckland pie for lunch (not included) and we went for a guided hike through an easy trail through the jungle. Finished off at the beautiful Piha Beach and a tea and cookies picnic. It was a day to remember.
