What are people saying about Athens

This wine tasting was...
This wine tasting was very useful in learning about Greek wine, having no prior knowledge. The quaint wine tasting room gave us a chance to connect with other travelers. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and included a lot of history. The wine and cheese pairings were enjoyable and we learned a lot about how to properly taste the wines. All knowledge that we took with us and applied the rest of our trip. Overall the wine tasting was around 2 hours. If you’re in Athens and don’t have any knowledge of Greek wines I’d highly recommend this experience to get you up to speed quickly so you can drink what locals do at restaurants!

Great activity with teens
Yummy food - 5pm was a good time as was not too hot and the locations weren't too busy as the Greeks eat later! Our group was small - only 8 in total which was lovely and Lots of yummy food to try at different locations - we were very full! thanks to Dimitrius for a lovely time.

Amazing history but not a repeat experience
It was a great experience, but will say it felt a bit quick and not as amazing compared to other experiences we had in vacation. For the tour/site itself it was perfect! Just lower ranked on all sites we visited so may not be a “must see” for everyone.
It was a long drive but they kept everyone engaged on the way up giving historical stories and let everyone sleep on the way back. Our guide was great and super excited to tell us the history. She walked us through the site itself and gave history which helped a lot since there weren’t many plaques to read so we would’ve been on our own for learning the relevance of items. The museum/food store/book store is extremely busy and we went in early June which is technically off season (aka our guide got scolded a few times for not moving quick enough in the museum). It’s really hot at the site area and a lot of climbing so be prepared! The lunch was really good and quick but unorganized. The drinks are super overpriced (4 euro for a soda) so don’t order those there but the food itself is delicacies from the area (boar, rooster or a vegetarian option) and tasted good for being tour food!

Well-organized day trip...
Well-organized day trip to Delphi. Micheal G. was a knowledgeable and charismatic guide and I appreciated that he had academic training in archaeology and Greek art. He wove myth and modernity together in a fun and engaging narrative through humor, culture, and personal anecdote. (Best wishes with your ongoing PhD!) Our driver, Apostolos, got us safely to and from our destination. Overall a good value for the price of the excursion, although I would have preferred more time in the museum and site instead of a stop in Arachova.

Our Athens Walking Wine...
Our Athens Walking Wine and Food Tour was one of the highlights of our visit. As a private tour for just Robbie and Drew, it felt incredibly personal and relaxed. The tour was exceptionally well planned, combining fascinating local history with outstanding food and wine experiences. We visited several upmarket venues, enjoyed a generous variety of delicious food, and never felt rushed. Constantina was a warm, knowledgeable, and engaging host who brought the stories of Athens to life and tailored the experience beautifully. We left with a deeper appreciation of the city, its culture, and its cuisine. Highly recommended!

Alex was a fantastic...
Alex was a fantastic guide! Wi-Fi for the bus was down, and he offered to set up a hot-spot so I could keep in touch with my travel partner who was not on the trip.
Two hours was enough for me to comfortably see the ruins, but only just - I didn't go into the museum at all. If you want to make sure you see both, you'll have to move quickly or skip something (the stadium is a long climb beyond everything else, so could be a good option there).

I learned so much about...
I learned so much about wine and how it’s made. The set was phenomenal for my scientists heart using beakers and flasks to mix your blend of wine. The whole experience was a 10/10 the only thing is I wish I would have been able to order a couple bottles of the wine to give as gifts to friends/family.

Delphi Secrets
You receive a brief overview of Arhens as you leave the city. You will have a short stop going up to Delphi. Once at Delphi there is a climb to where the Oracle met. You did not have to climb up to the stadium that was optional. The tour fascinating. The museum had an extraordinary bull in silver and a beautiful charioteer statute. Lunch was a feast with several courses. The ride back had a brief stop to take pictures of the nearby town and a very short stop for a rest break before you head back to the traffic of Athens. It was an enjoyable excursion, but bring your water if it is hot.

This private tour was...
This private tour was amazing. Our driver Anestis was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure we saw all the main sites of Athens. It was great having a driver for quick pick ups and drop offs. The local family owed Greek Tavern was the perfect place for lunch- away the touristy areas! We only had a day in Athens and it was a great tour to do. Highly recommend

The sommelier was...
The sommelier was excellent, he provided background on the wines, the grapes and the regions. We tasted 6 wines and were also served cheese and sesame seeded breadsticks. The tasting pours were ample and represented a good variety of flavors. Overall it provided a great intro into the wide variety of winemaking across Greece.

The Best of Athens done right
Alex our driver and guide was fantastic, super helpful and very attentive. He met us at the cruise port right on time, answered all questions, even the silly ones and was so eager to share his knowledge of Athens, the sights and history. We saw so many sights, beat the bulk of the lines at the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum and then had a lovely and super tasty lunch at a little coastal restaurant near Poseidon's Temple. If you want to make the most of a day in Athens, this tour will make that happen.

Incredible experience - excellent guide and driver
The pick up was a bit confusing with many buses, we had to go around to check our name on each. It would be better if a Viator representative meets us at the pick up spot to make it easier. The experience of Meteora itself was amazing - both the guide and driver were excellent! The dinner on the way back was very rushed, though.
