Yes, guided food and drink classes in Athens are worth it if you're interested in learning new cooking skills. These experiences often start with a walk through a local market, followed by hands-on cooking of traditional dishes under the direction of a chef, and conclude with enjoying the meal you've prepared alongside local wine.

Per one customer who booked the  Athens: Classic Cooking Class with Market Visit and Wine, "We spent four hours learning, laughing, cooking, (dancing!), and eating along with a group of 12 fellow participants. Tharnassus taught us traditional cooking techniques and told stories of the role of different types of foods in Greek traditions and life. We toured the local market to pick up ingredients, then cooked and ate family style. So much fun and delicious!"

Opt for a cooking class if you’re hoping for something hands-on, or a guided tasting if you’re more interested in a deep dive into a specific ingredient, like olive oil or honey. Confirm whether the class can accommodate your dietary restrictions and preferences, and note that many require advance notice for substitutions.
