My friend and I really enjoyed our wine tasting experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the wines we tasted were delicious!
This was so much fun and very informative! It was just us and another couple since the weather was bad, but it was perfect and intimate. We got to try some awesome wines, learn some Greek history and a sweet surprise of creating our own blend to bring back home. 10/10 recommend!
Anastasia was an amazing host! We learned so much from her extensive knowledge on wine and its history. I would recommend this to anyone who is a beginner with wines and who wants to immerse themselves into the Greek culture while visiting Athens.
We had the best time. Learned a lot about Greek wines and some wonderful history. Even added to our wine tasting knowledge and truly our “wine guide” was wonderful and humorous. Highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing experience. We had 3 whites and 2 reds, where each wine was carefully chosen to help us understand the intricacies of wine tasting. We were also given a very interesting historical lesson of how wine became what it is today, and how it has impacted greek culture.
Overall I would highly recommend this to both new and experienced wine drinkers.
We loved learning and tasting the wines of Greece. This may have been the most in depth wine tasting experience we have had.
We learned so much about Greek wine. We look forward to seeking out Greek wine here in Minnesota. Anastasia was very knowledgeable and a wonderful and effective ambassador of Greek wine. The cheese pairings were a revelation and added a lot to the tasting experience.
Our group had a great time at this event. We were looking for something to do after sunset where we could relax for a busy day walking around Athens.
Our instructor was fabulous and she walked us through all the wines and interesting history information on their origin.
This was an excellent wine tasting hosted by Theo. The information provided around the history of Greek wines and winemaking regions made it more than just your typical wine tasting. The delicious wines and cheese were an added bonus. All in all an excellent introduction to Greek wines and and well worth doing.
This was a great tasting and a wonderful exposure to the breadth and depth of Greek wines. It would’ve been nice to leave with some information as there was a lot shared and no possible way to retain all of that after 90 minutes. Even the link to a one page summary that people could download if they choose, would have been welcome way to retain some of Anastasia’s knowledge after the experience. She was an informed and enthusiastic guide on our brief introduction to the world of Greek wine.
We really enjoyed the best wine tasting in Athens. Yianni was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He went above and beyond, teaching us more than we ever knew about wine. It is obvious that Yianni really enjoys teaching about wine.
Greate experience tasting Greek wines! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience so much fun! Definitely recommend!
Great experience and option. It was easy and fun especially for those of us who are not knowledgeable about wines.
Great way to spend some time in Athens. Was interesting to learn how to taste wine properly and our host Yiannis was great. Really enjoyed chatting with him.
This wine tasting was very useful in learning about Greek wine, having no prior knowledge. The quaint wine tasting room gave us a chance to connect with other travelers. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and included a lot of history. The wine and cheese pairings were enjoyable and we learned a lot about how to properly taste the wines. All knowledge that we took with us and applied the rest of our trip. Overall the wine tasting was around 2 hours. If you’re in Athens and don’t have any knowledge of Greek wines I’d highly recommend this experience to get you up to speed quickly so you can drink what locals do at restaurants!
Anastasia was great , very knowledgable about the wines and the cheese pairings. The session was fun and interactive while still a lot good content. Tried 3 white and 2 reds, group size and room layout was also great, no bad seats in the house
I have been to wine tastings all around the world and Artemis was by far the best to teach you about wines and the regions! She was amazing!
Very informative and fun experience! Anastasia was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Sampled lots of wine and good pairings.
It was really wonderful. The guide was completely knowledgeable in Greek wines and did a fabulous tasting explaining the origins behind each wine. We thoroughly enjoyed this!
One of our favorite experiences in Athens! Amazing Greek wines, a fun and relaxing atmosphere, and hosts who made the tasting both informative and entertaining. We left knowing exactly how to order great Greek wine for the rest of our trip 🍷🇬🇷 Highly recommend!
Overall, this was fine. The guide was friendly, and I appreciated the diversity of wines we tasted (I hadn't had a Retsina before, so that was cool). Preferences are always personal, but I didn't love any of the wines. There were a number that seemed out of balance or too young to me (very high acid + high, harsh tannin + high alcohol); others were unexpectedly bitter -- I grabbed a random 20€ bottle of Xinomavro from a bottle shop yesterday, and it was much more complex and interesting than anything in this tasting. A fair amount of the production information was very simplified, and a few minor things were also incorrect (won't be an issue for most people, but I've had some formal wine education, and so it surprised me a bit).
Again, it was fine overall, and a nice way to spend 1.5 hours on a rainy day. It wasn't the best tasting I've done, but it wasn't the worst either (though the price was a bit steep for the quality).
Response from Host, Apr 2026
HI Andrew, thank you for taking the time to post a review ,we are happy you have enjoyed the Retisna which is the best Retsina of the Market, and we are sorry you didn't enjoy the rest of our wines to the fullest .All our wines are carefully selected to give the proper example from the Greek territory and they are all very well balanced and enjoyable as you can probably see from all our reviews!! Agiorgitiko it does have high tannin character which one educated in Wine should have expected it..! The Xinomavro of Foundis that you have tried its one of the most characteristic Xinomavro of the country!
Hope to visit us again so you try some different wines which will be more near to your taste!
Regards
Theo
Absolutely brilliant! Easy to find via google maps. Anastasia was great. It was just myself and husband and having done quite a few wine tastings I think this was the best yet. Good mix of history and Greek mythology thrown in and advice for wine. The five wines were different and very well paired with the cheeses. Can’t rate highlight enough! Thank you
Wine tasting was awesome. Very educational and the instructor was so polite and pleasant. You learn about wine potency, tannins, and the vineyards.
Very fun and interesting wine tasting. Professionally done with a visual on-screen presentation to show us the regions from which the grape varieties were sourced. Lots of interesting stories and myths shared along the way. The wine and cheese parings were delicious and well-matched. We brought our children along and the staff was extremely accommodating providing things to entertain them as well so we could enjoy our tasting with minimal disruptions. Highly recommend!
This wine tasting was so fun! Our wine expert, Anastasia, was incredible! She was so friendly and knowledgeable! She taught us so many interesting facts about wine tasting and how wine is made in Greece. Definitely recommend this tasting while visiting Athens !
This was a great unique and intimate experience! We loved getting to learn and try the various wines of Greece! And the cheese pairings were perfect! And the price was worth it!
It was a great experience to learn about greek vines.
The host was slow, calm, very knowledgeable and friendly.
Be prepared you are going to taste 5 wines. Just a heads up if you feel thats less.
Lovely and informative wine tasting! We learned so much about the Greek heritage grapes. It was a nice mixture of learning and tasting
Excellent event with knowledgeable wine expert. We loved the wine and cheese pairings and learning about Greek wines.
We had a great tasting experience lead by Evelyna! She did a wonderful job of explaining each wine and cheese pairing while also explaining the history of each!
