Stunning caves and shoreline

If there is one experience you shouldn’t miss in Lagos, it’s the boat ride to these caves. Stunning is the only word for it. The majestic shoreline of cliffs and caves you can experience, is like nothing else we have seen. There are a string of caves where the boat operators will take you into. If you are lucky (like we were), you will be able to see a lot of dolphins while going to these caves.

Great Tour!

We had a great experience on this tour! The meeting point was easy to find and everything was well organized from the start. The boat took us to all of the different caves and stops along the coast, including the beautiful Benagil Cave. At the end, they even gave everyone the opportunity to jump in and swim, which was a fun way to finish the tour. Definitely a great way to see the Algarve coastline and would recommend!

Highlight of our trip to Algarve!

Absolute highlight of our trip to date. Ivan was an amazing skipper, the boat was beautiful. Tour of Ponte de Piedade with amazing cove and bay stops. Excellent for couples and families. We had two kids- ages 5 and 7- and they had a blast. Cannot recommend this enough! It was amazing!

Brilliant experience with kids

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Knowledgeable, interesting, and funny guide and fantastic driver who could expertly give the best views of the caves. We are travelling in the Algarve with kids (3&5) and would have struggled to access some of the more beautiful beaches because of long staircases so this was the perfect way to see the sights. Felt really magical and fun and safe - as well as being brilliant value for money. Highly recommend.

Loved it!

It was excellent - travelled with teenagers and they both loved it very much. Our guide was very experienced, provided all information about the location and the activity, was monitoring the group all the time to make sure no one was left behind and that everyone was enjoying the experience. 10/10 - super recommend!

Excellent trip with Benagil Kayaks

Excellent experience with Benagil Kayaks. David our guide was brilliant and very informative throughout. We were a small group of only 3 kayaks which was brilliant as we moved quickly between caves and beaches not having to wait on multiple other kayaks. Luckily we were there during low tide so were able to enter Pirate's cave and get onto the beach (not possible at high tide). Parking in the area is pretty crazy, we booked the 10am trip and were able to get a space in the large paid carpark nearby. When we returned to the beach at 12pm it was an awful lot busier. Would recommend an early morning trip, especially with children. Highly recommend booking with Benagil Kayaks.

Excellent. Much cheaper booking through Viator than elsewhere. Check in was easy to find and very straightforward. Our guide Katrina was friendly and knowledgeable and the captain was a real character, joking with the customers and other boat operators. He had a real sense of mischief and made the tour more memorable. The coastline and caves are interesting enough but the highlight was the dolphins. There’s apparently about 50-70% chance of seeing them on any given day. They were right in front of, next to and even underneath our boat. Kids loved it as did the adults. There was no hard sell add-ons like you get in some places. We went in height of summer and on the way back you can get chilly with the sea air/breeze. Any other time of year and you’d probably need to take a jumper jacket. Even the guide wore a hoodie on the way back. Would really recommend overall.

Great family experience – highly recommended

My wife and I went on the Benagil Caves Speedboat Tour with our two children (11 and 13) and had a fantastic time. The start is quite full-on, with a large number of people heading out on the various tours. It was very busy and packed, but everything was well organised and ran to schedule, so we can’t really fault them. We had Bruno as our guide, and he was brilliant. He was very funny and kept everyone entertained throughout with plenty of jokes about the rocks, his exes and pretty much everything in between! The coastline is absolutely stunning, and the Benagil caves are genuinely something to see. The speedboat made the whole experience even more enjoyable, and we were surprised by just how much we all enjoyed it. For the price, we thought it was extremely good value for money and would definitely recommend it to families. A great way to see the Algarve coastline and one of the highlights of our holiday.

Fabulous trip to the caves

Lovely crew, nice sized catamaran with lots of seating on two decks. One of the crew gives an amusing commentary about the various caves, hilights and attractions in three languages, Portuguese, English and French, although I understand he speaks Spanish too. There was also an opportunity to swim for those that wanted to. Well worth the small amount of money for 2 1/2 hours on the water.

Exceptional Experience

Our private boat tour was the absolute highlight of our trip! From the moment we were greeting be the staff we knew we were about to have a special night as they were incredibly friendly and accommodating, with special shout out to our boat captain Tomas for going above and beyond to fulfill every single request we had with a smile. He was also very informative and provided a lot of rich history to add to the depth of the stunning views around us. The boat itself was spotless, creating the perfect setting to relax. Being able to play our own music added to the emotional layer of the voyage. As we cruised, time seemed to stand still. The views of along the way (including Praia do Camilo and Ponta da Piedade) were absolutely exceptional, but the stories Tomas shared during each iconic landmark deepened our experience and appreciation. If you are looking for an authentic, intimate, and perfectly curated experience in Lagos, look no further. We are so grateful for the hospitality and the beautiful memories. Highly recommended!

Well done Ricardo!

To find the place: take the walkway to the bottom left of the carpark, you'll see a building on the beach and you'll find the kayaks there. Unfortunately the beach was covered in sargassum but Ricardo took the kayaks to the next door beach. We had to climb through a large hole and down a path...made everything feel like an adventure so great fun and cool as.... Ricardo doesn't speak much English but he tried and he is a brilliant photographer so we now have some fabulous photos and memories. It felt like a small business so only 2 kayaks plus Ricardo but it was way better than being at Benagil beach where it was like a kayak cattle market. (We got an uber there after for €3.50). There were so many kayaks at Benagil beach it made it feel like mayhem. So, to sum up....Ricardo did everything he could to get the kayaks to the other beach, he was very kind and chilled and we loved it! Signed: 2 girls in their 50's loving life!
