Fantastic day trip from start to finish. Appeals to everyone, I’m a wine enthusiast, so I was in my element. Scenery was beautiful, lunch was exceptional, wine tasting was intimate and delightful. Would love to do this again in the late summer / early autumn when the bars are open in the vineyards.

My family and I had a truly memorable experience on this tour. We saw amazing views of the Austrian countryside, walked through actual working vineyards, ate some great local cuisine, and tasted some delicious local wine during a tasting hosted by the owner himself sitting in his beautiful courtyard. What made the day truly special though was our guide (James). He took the time to talk to all four of us, shared tons of facts about the region and the wine (as well as his own personal stories), and provide top-notch translation at the winery. He made sure that we were enjoying ourselves and made us feel like we were talking to an old friend. The only caution is that the five+ mile hike contains some steep uphill and downhill sections, so be prepared for that. We would highly recommend this tour!
Had an amazing time at this tour. James the guide was awesome, and the woods and the vineyards were amazing even though I got a sunburn (so dont forget your sunscreen!). The second part - the wine tasting - was also great and I'm not even a wine person! This tour, the views, and the whole experience will stay in my memory for a long time (I think its gonna be my new 'happy place'), and I definitely recommend it! Thank you James and everyone who's been in our group!
James was incredible! He met us at the train station, and we rode a train 30 minutes to this adorable little town outside Vienna. He was knowledgeable and really made us feel comfortable during the trip. We went in the winter so we didn't do the hike and instead he planned a second wine tasting for us! Which I rather prefer anyway! I would definitely recommend booking this tour. Totally worth it to see the country outside of the main city.

Thanks so much for this, Rebecca. It was my pleasure to share these landscapes and wines with you! Hope you enjoy the Trockenbeerenauslese!
James was a great guide on our hiking wine journey. We saw some beautiful landscapes and learned so much about Austrian wines. The highlight was our tasting at a private home!
This vineyard walk and tasting mix did fill an exceptional day of our trip in Wien. James professionally and mindfully selected a balanced choice of track and wine spots. Not spending much effort in hiking, but exercise enough and gradually build up our appetite in wine tasting. Weather was nice, warm with plenty of sunshine and breeze, buried in scenic view that could usually be seen far away from highway when passing by. Alongside James as a companion to chat like years old friend and we are regularly inquired about our feeling whether the pace would be comfortable. During the course of hiking, he explained clearly about the places and vineyards we are visiting. That's relaxing, and we are much benefit from his caring throughout the day. About wine tasting, I would say all those would be top notch of Austria. James was a great help, professionally guided us to taste those wines from different angles. Though not anyway good to score technically, for sure we are wine enthusiast and can tell they suit to our taste, that, would be quite difficult to locate in average bar/restaurants elsewhere. The complexity - from aroma to palate and finally after taste, represent heartfelt make of grape planting as well as wine arts in Wien. The vineyard owners were nice and friendly, brought us through their journey of how those good wines were produced - a priceless lesson. Thanks for James to put together all these, wholeheartedly appreciate. Everyone joining the group should feel like within a circle of friends, rather than a programmed tour with standard itinerary or speech. James is quite insistent in smaller group, I fully support this idea as this allows him to put more focus and care on individual's needs. Look forward to go along with James again. ~~Ben & Stella

Ben & Stella - thank you so much for this lovely review! It is more than kind and I really appreciate your sentiments and the time it took you to post this. You're absolutely right that keeping the groups small massively improves the overall quality of the experience for everyone involved. I must also comment on your super perceptive palette, Ben! You assisted me to isolate one or two of those flavours coming through in the wines we sampled and I enjoyed comparing our thoughts :-) You were a lovely couple to host, and I really hope to meet you again, either back here in Vienna or perhaps one day in Hong Kong! All the best - James
