This was such an amazing experience. There were just four of us and I absolutely loved the intimacy and the beauty this tour encapsulated. I’ll start off by talking about our guide. Andrea was nothing short of amazing. First of all he was an expert in Venetian history. He knew the world inside and out. We traveled through the secret alleys and he made all of us feel safe while spewing out so much information. With that knowledge, he was incredibly animated and charismatic. He was funny and made learning fun as if I was a kid again. You can tell that he absolutely LOVES what he does and because you know he has fun you’ll have fun too by osmosis (I had fun regardless but you know what I mean). Another thing I loved was that he gave us ample time to take pictures which give me time to socialize with others on my tour. Half of the fun of going on a tour is the people you meet. The food was great. He made sure we were all happy and satisfied with our meals. I recommend this tour because it is quiet and you’ll learn more that way. I would recommend this trip to anyone!
Also, and this is important for me to add. As of this review there are 7 total reviews (all five stars as it should be). I am that kind of tourist who would like to see at least 100 reviews before committing to it. So I was skeptical at first. But the evening in Venice still intrigued me. So if you feel the same way I did, DON’T! I was told this is a fairly new program and obviously it takes time to build. DO NOT be discouraged. This was my favorite tour in Venice!

Great and fun history lesson… the guide was personable and fun. But for the fact that no mention of ghosts or mystery whatsoever unfortunately.

Our tour guide was very personable and fun.
Great customer service.
However the bad weather necessitated cancelling the tour.

Thanks Linda for the nice review :) The storm finally passed and we were able to complete the tour with the other participants in the group, but it was still very windy. You did well to return to the hotel: the weather was really miserable. I m very happy that our backoffice refund you due the bad weather conditions.

Not what we expected. We literally just walked. Could have done that by ourselves. Venice by night give the impression its after dark. It isn't. We were disappointed.

Dear Lorraine, unfortunately I was suffering from a severe winter flu syndrome and then I had to stay at home for a few days. I called you to let you know about it around 9 in the morning because the night before I didn't know that I would wake up with a fever, otherwise I would have asked to cancel your reservation sooner. I'm very sorry that you weren't able to find another "Evening in Venice", probably it's because at the beginning of December Most of the guides and tour leaders are already on holiday because it is considered, together with January, a low season month :( However, don't worry about the refund: when we are ill we have to present the "Medical certificate" we receive from the Doctor to the Travel agency and then your reservation comes canceled with automatically full refund :)

We booked an English tour. Our guide didn’t speak English. He insulted my husband then cancelled our tour without even asking us. We have NOT received a refund . This was the most horrible experience of our whole trip to Europe

Dear Olena you still demonstrate that you are absolutely not able to understand what happened: you showed up at the place where the tour began in Italian (that's why all members of the group were Italians!!) My colleague tried to show you where your meeting point and our english group was, but you were completely drunk!
No refund!? He canceled your reservation in front your eyes due he told me that your husband Sasha smelles like "pure vodka"
I'm very sorry that you feel now upset just learn how to travel and most important thing how to stay in this world. Good luck.

This tour takes you off the normal trek to parts of Venice most tourists don't usually explore. It was great to get away from the hordes and see different sites. And the tour guide was very knowledgeable - and funny!

Our tour guide made us feel like we were venicians by the end of the evening. Very passionate about describing the history to us. Stopping and giving a great depiction of sight. Many suggestions on where to eat and how to manure around the canal. We would definitely recommend doing this on first day

Booked this tour my first day in Venice. The tour guide was a local, but he mostly talked about himself and his family, instead of the city. He may have also had too many cups of coffee and would ramble and repeat himself. My favorite part was the small group and getting to meet people from different countries.

I'm sorry for having seemed less than accommodating, but after 2 hours of walking tour you can't force all the participants in the group to listen to a history lesson of Venice, they were all very tired, especially the children... Also everyone was agree with me about it: this is not an history tour when we enjoy dinner time and seafood cuisine. Also, as you saw, during the course of the dinner everyone was very happy to meet and become friends with each other :)

On 12 June 2024, Italy was hit by a very strong African heat wave coming from the Mediterranean Sea (in southern Europe this climate comes from the Sahara desert)
The Escort service was not canceled due to "weather conditions" involving the arrival of rain, but it was canceled
1) At first because it was simply too hot: here in Venice 34 degrees plus 80% humidity
2) Second due this reason I wasn't able to guarantee the "quality standards" necessary for maintaining this tour package on this platform and "last but not least" for obvious 3) "safety reasons" as the "first aid" carried out by a "tourist operator" cannot always be safe with "heat stroke" ( that sometime it's really dangerous) and here in Venice the arrival times of the water ambulance from the hospital island would still require us to stop the excursion. Since I preferred have no risk like this, I personally sent the cancellation emails with "cancel+full refund" in the early morning so as to allow all participants to be notified in time and change their plans, perhaps participating in some other activity within air-conditioned environments. In Italy we have a lot of Museums and wonderful restaurants where you can enjoy your time in a safety way.
Given all these things, receiving your complaint where you talk about "rain" really amazes me due the only area where it is now raining here in Italy it's on mountains (Dolomites in the Venice's case) but unfortunately it s really unlikely that this rain will reach the sea from there in the absence of wind, therefore in the absence of a "divine help😂"

Fun tour of hidden Venice. Guide was entertaining and informative. Appreciated all the local history and access to Biennial exhibits. Definitely saw things I normally wouldn’t have.

This was just an okay tour. It certainly wasn’t bad, but it was forgettable. It will not be a highlight of our trip looking back. The tour gave some good local insight nuggets, mostly like “interesting facts” stuff. Nothing that was a big deal. The restaurant stop was just ok…couple little snacks in a small crowded restaurant. Tour felt long, could have been 1-hour shorter for sure.

I repeat: if you want to finish early, dinner time at the end it is just a suggestion not an imposition. At weekend Osteria is “crowed” due it’s one of the best here in Venice, that why they need a reservation, but again I repeat that it was not an imposition just a strongly suggestion. Next time just say “no” or “I have something else to do”.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the tour as expected. Not much historic information given, plus he was very difficult to understand because of the heavy accent. More time spent at the restaurant than on the tour. Basically, you're paying for dinner with a tour commentary.

About your complaints as was told my Job is TOUR LEADER not TOUR GUIDE: I have to introduce Venice TODAY showing you how to navigate around until I accompany you somewhere. (In this case in an OSTERIA not a restaurant😂)
STAY 30mins IN FRONT OF A MONUMENT DURING SUMMER TIME (35*+humidity) SAYING WHO MADE, WHO PAY, WHO IS…etc…I M SORRY BUT THIS IS NOT MY JOB.
About heavy accent you have true, here in Italy we have all Italian accent…(you can’t image how they speak in Rome😂…) by the way next time take a look about difference respect tour guide and tour leader :)

Andrea was very entertaining personable and knowledgeable. Although the resturant we went to was lovely with an amazing owner, we wish we would have had more of Andrea to walk us around and tell us more. We did have an enjoyable time talking and drinking with every new friend we met at dinner... but that part of the tour could have been shortened if there was an option to see and hear more history. Andrea was filled with intereting and unique facts abouy Venice that we wouldnhave never known about if we did not take this tour.

good tour... i was a little surprised as from the description i thought it would be a bit of walking followed but a stop for tasting, then more walking, then more tasting... and on and on... it was actually an hour and forty five minutes of walking followed by a meal.... still a good experience
