I communicated weeks in advance about our arrival, meeting location and photo shoot plans in Venice. Given that we were there for a short period I wanted to be clear. The day before the shoot the photographer asked me for the appointment time and meeting arrangements. This seemed odd--but I providedtthe information. He later told me that he had something else scheduled at that time. He then retracted and agreed to meet. He arrived late by 30 minutes and was apologetic. He arrived with no flash to take evening pictures. When I asked "why", he said he liked working with natural light. I told him that there was no natural light. The pictures all came out very dark, underexposed, grainy and overshadowed. Most of the beauty in Venice is not seen on our faces are not even detectable in 90% of the pictures. He said he would work to find a solution and its been a week with no communication at all. Filipo, when people travel 7,000 miles to a destination they are hoping to have pleasant experiences. It didn't appear that you made our photo session a priority at all. When problems arise it is important to deal with them appropriately and as an adult. The pictures were very disappointing; however, honestly speaking it was the way you dealt with it that was most upsetting. We have asked for a full refund and are posting here to let you and others know that your level of skill maybe high (potentially) but your organization, ability to prepare for your appointments and self-accountability is in need of evaluation. We deserved better.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, and I would like to clarify a few important details regarding the session.
First of all, before the booking I had clearly informed you that at 5:00 PM Venice would be very dark at this time of the year, and that the available natural light would be extremely limited. For this reason, I proposed an alternative location where the remaining daylight would have allowed a much better result. Unfortunately, you were unable to move from the station due to your luggage, which significantly reduced the photographic possibilities.
Despite the lack of light and the very restricted area available, I still tried my best to deliver a photo session that worked under those circumstances.
Regarding the flash: in my style I normally work with natural light because it provides a more cinematic and authentic look. However, with the full awareness of the lighting limitations, I still did everything possible to adapt to the environment we had.
You also mentioned delays in communication. I apologise for the longer waiting time — I was actively re-editing your photos to improve them beyond the initial delivery while balancing other commitments. My intention was to provide a solution, not to ignore your messages.
It is also important to mention that you received all your photos, including some additional ones, and I still proceeded with a full refund, even though the service had been completed. My goal was to ensure you would not feel dissatisfied in any way.
I truly care about the experience of every client who travels from far away to enjoy Venice, and I am sorry that the unavoidable conditions and limited location options affected your perception of the session.
I appreciate your feedback, and I will use it to continue improving my communication and organisation.
