If you like swimming, caves and history this is for you! It was a one of a kind experience!
It involves two locations. It can take some time getting to each spot. The roads are bad so the driver cannot go fast. It is definitely worth the wait!!
The first is to a shallow cenote that is half covered. Here you spend some time getting used to the slippery rocks (I suggest water shoes) and enjoying the beauty around you.
The second spot is the fully covered and you swim through it. We brought headlamps (not required but you see much more). Your guide will be carrying a flashlight and make sure everyone is safe and sees what is being talked about.
Our guide, Alberto was kind, informative and cared for our safety. He taught us so much history about the Maya culture and why the cenotes are so important to them.
The tour was well organized and lifejackets are required (they are supplied).
Thank you for a wonderful memory!

The trip felt very rushed and unorganized. We only had one guide bringing us through the cave cenote, and there were people being nearly left behind in the dark because he was going too fast and not waiting for everyone to be caught up. There were two guests that were not good swimmers, and had life vests that did not fit them right at all ( no one made sure everyone had the correct size and weight limit for their vest), they nearly drowned in the back while the guide was way ahead. There was no one there to help them as they were literally shouting “help me!” and struggling to keep their heads above the water. They were truly panicking and nearly pulling other guest under trying to save themselves. Luckily they were helped by other guests and brought back to the starting point, but the guide was no help at all and never went back to check on/apologize to the two men that almost drowned.

Hi Jane, thank you for your comment, we are as well disturbed that the tour guide didn't took any safety measures for the whole group. Do you remember your tour guide name, that way we will know whom we have to work with and give more training so this won't happened again. Thank you again for your words, and believe us when we tell you that we will work on your experience to make it better for others customers. Cheers
