This was an amazing tour. They made us feel so welcome. The entire tour was extremely well-organized, and there was no confusion. The meal was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The employees were extremely knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions we had. Dogs were so cute. We even got the chance to see the northern lights. They even organized s'mores by the fire for us. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

It was so incredible visit a husky camp and petting several friendly dog. We are so lucky because we can see beautiful northern Lights. Really beautiful experience cooking and eating marshmallow in front of the fire and hearing about northern Lights by our guide.

The Alaskan Huskies are not the more familiar Siberian species but are friendly and eager to share their space with you. We met/petted over a dozen of them including some young pups. The Aurora was spectacular from the huskies’ kennel area so no need to drive an hour or two in search of the northern lights.

This was our favorite activity on our Tromso trip. It exceeded expectations. I would recommend it to everyone. Not only did we get all of the experience as described when we purchased the ticket, the staff at the husky camp were professional and friendly, answered many questions we had about the dogs, and the food served was delicious.

Had a lovely evening, the guides were very informative about the Huskys and the Northen lights. We were lucky enough to see them just for a few minutes. But overall a very enjoyable evening!

This tour is just a tour to visit the dog kennels. Northern lights isn't really part of it. The dogs are nice but by night time they are tired so most are in their kennel. Only around 10 or so dogs were out with around 40 people. Visit the puppies but it's very brief. The best bit was the meal. Afterwards a strange talk is given about the northern lights whilst toasting marshmallows or rolling down a hill as was said? This tour was the most underwhelming tour I had in Tromso. If you want to see the dogs, book a husky sled tour instead.

We took the bus to a group of houses where we changed into one of their snowsuits. They didn’t smell good. I had done a tour of the Northern Lights before so I expected this would be a chase of the lights maybe accompanied by one or two dogs. It says “husky visit”, right? No, you are taken to a dog compound and it’s not until you get around the dogs and they start pooping and peeing all over their houses that you realize you need to be careful where you step….. we ended up staying there for what felt like an hour and then they took us to the puppies and then took us to eat soup which was actually really good along with chocolate cake and then we went out by the fire, which was lovely to have marshmallows over a fire, and in their defense, there were no northern lights because it was bad weather that night. But one thing I’ve learned chasing the northern lights is that if you’re only going to go to one fixed location your probability of seeing the northern lights is very low because if you look at the northern lights app, it will tell you where they’re expected to be and statistically the odds of them always being at this one place is very little to none so this really shouldn’t be anything about Northern lights. The title should be “dog compound visit with soup and fire” that’s really what it’s about. It’s not about the northern lights at all really in my opinion. Nice experience but description doesn’t adequately describe the real experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that parts of the experience did not meet your expectations.
We would like to clarify that this tour is not described as a Northern Lights chase, nor does it state that dogs would join guests on the bus. The description clearly explains that the experience takes place at our dog yard, home to around 200 working huskies, and is designed to be different from standard aurora chase tours.
As this is a working dog yard, dogs naturally relieve themselves around their kennels. The area is cleaned multiple times per day, and guests are not walking in dirty or unsafe conditions.
We are sorry you did not get to see the Northern Lights that evening. Sightings depend entirely on weather and solar activity and can never be guaranteed, although our location away from city lights does give good chances when conditions allow.
We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear you enjoyed the food and time by the fire.

Great staff at Husky location. Really friendly and knowledgeable about the dogs and the Nordic life. Food was excellent. Travel to and from the location was comfortable and on time. Great value trip

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. We saw the Northern Lights immediately, which was an absolute bonus. Then they took us in to pet ALL the dogs. The handlers are all so knowledgeable and taught you all about them. Next we had a lovely dinner (vegetarian option was so good). Finally we went out by a campfire to admire the lights and the guides gave a talk about them as well. Obviously, the northern lights aren’t a guarantee, but this would have been worth it without them.

Absolute must do. We were lucky to see the Northern Lights! Getting to play with the dogs under the Lights was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.
Kate_S, Dec 2025
Kids had great time visiting the huskies. Also did marshmallows around campfire and sledding down a hill, which was a highlight. Went for a walk through trees, idyllic. daughter loved the puppies. Didn’t see northern lights but it was a snowy, cloudy night. Equipment was great (snowsuits and boots provided) and well organised.

A really magical evening, spent a lot of time meeting the husky’s, admiring the views (and incredible northern lights!) great views and then finishing off with marshmallow toasting
Sharon_H, Nov 2025
We had the most amazing experience. We were really lucky as the sky was clear so we could see the Northern Lights in all their glory. We also very much enjoyed cuddly the huskys. The camp fire was wonderful. All in all a great trip enjoyed by all.

Such a fun time! Our guide was really informative and went out of her way to make sure everyone had a lovely time. The dogs are obviously very loved and well cared for. We had plenty of time to cuddle with both the adults and puppies, were given plenty of food and had an unreal view of the northern lights! Perfect for animal lovers!

Absolutely amazing. Such a fun time with the huskies and watching the northern lights at the same time. Transportation easy and good. 10/10 recommend

A fabulous activity for dog-lovers. Plenty of time to explore the dog yard at your leisure, with 100+ dogs to meet and fuss. The dogs appear to be relaxed and genuinely enjoy the experience too, with each having the option for quiet time in their kennel, or play with visitors on the yard. Northern lights were the icing on the cake, if you're lucky enough to have clear skies and solar activity whilst there, then this is a brilliant dark location to see them, without venturing too far from Tromsø. Food and drink was also delicious, topped off by campfire and marshmallows.
Also... a huge thank you to Tom (one of the staff there) for helping my now fiancée capture images of the moment he got down on one knee, amongst the huskies and under the Northern Lights!!!
sophie_r, Feb 2025
I went mostly for my kids who really love dogs as we couldn't do the dog sleighing. They had a great time! The dogs are super sociable. The dinner (cod fish stew) was really nice and we even saw a mild aurora (the weather wasn't on our side). The kids had a great time slidding down the snowy slopes with mattress sledges!
Maureen_M, Feb 2025
The husky dogs are gorgeous. I cuddled lots of them! The location is about 30 mins from the centre and it is possible to stay overnight there. It's also a good location to see Northern Lights. It was too cloudy on this night but I didn't mind as I'd seen them the night before. We watched a 10 min film about dog sledding and then we got to meet the dogs. The veggie meal option was couscous and I had hot chocolate to drink. Overall, a very nice experience.
Paul_P, Feb 2025
If you are an avid dog lover, this is an experience you must have. The aurora borealis was an additional bonus. This is an activity that should not be missed.
Christopher_D, Jan 2025
Excellent organization, activity matches description, competent/engaged staff, cute dogs, good food, Aurora sighting.
Muireann_L, Jan 2025
We loved our time on this trip, as we were so lucky to see the northern lights within 15 minutes of arriving!! They turned off the yard lights so we could see them clearer, it was great. All the people we met working there was lovely, the lady showing us around was so nice and knowledgeable.
The dogs was amazing, we got to spend loads of time with them, give them loads of rubs, they looks really well cared for and healthy.
The food we were given was delicious, and it was so cosy enjoying it inside after being outside for ages with the dogs.
There was a chance to slide down some snow and have some smores too which was fun and unexpected.
If you love dogs and just want to spend them with them, it is a great tour to do that. It is a very relaxed tour, do things as your own pace, no rushing. The bus pick up and drop off was so easy too.
Andrea_A, Jan 2025
It was informative and fun It was freezing so we were given warm clothing
Plenty of time with the puppies and older dogs
Food and hosts were just gorgeous
Corey_B, Jan 2025
My wife pet 100 dogs, we saw the Northern Lights, and the food was good, we couldn’t have asked for much more. If you or your spouse loves dogs, this is a must.
Adele_S, Dec 2024
Absolutely wonderful experience for any dog lover! So many dogs, it's almost impossible to visit them all! All of the staff were clearly devoted to these animals and provided great information about them. When we found out they allow people to spend the night there, we were SO bummed we didn't realize that was an option when we booked! Could not recommend more highly!
Pauline_T, Dec 2024
Nice to see the many dogs and be able to touch them. Dogs were a bit tired from all day running. Maybe the evening visits are too much for them. We had a very nice and good dinner. Friendly people who explained about the dogs and told ancient stories about the northern light. We were surprised with marvellous northern light, a present you cannot plan beforehand. After dinner we had fun sledding down hill. Worth while to visit this place!
Alexis_N, Dec 2024
We played with all the dogs and got to hear awesome stories and facts about them. The food and drinks were so good after, the facilities were amazing! We didn’t get to see the northern lights because it was cloudy but overall, a great experience!
marie_p, Dec 2024
First of all... check pick up point... Viator has it wrong....it is NOT Sjøgata 7, 9259 Tromsø, Norway this is at the back of the hotel and we nearly missed our pick up...not good Viator...change it....no stars .....it is outside the front main entrance of the Radisson Blue hotel!!!
The trip itself was 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
Had lots of time to meet the dogs and puppies.....had lovely food....and learnt about sledding

Great experience visiting the huskies close to Tromso. The staff was great and explained us a lot of things about the dogs. There are uniforms provided which I recommend you wear since it might be muddy.
We also had the chance to pet the dogs which were really calm and loved to be petted!
Moreover we had the chance to see the northern lights since there is no light pollution , while the stuff came and called us while we were changing to their provided uniforms in order to have a chance and see them. They also made the experience much better since they closed any lights to help us better see the lights!
Debra_D, Nov 2024
Great experience for animal lovers! There were so many Huskies to pet and cuddle throughout the camp. The puppies were especially cute and very active, so much fun. The included dinner was delicious and had a great atmosphere inside. No northern lights the night we went, but the campfire was still a nice set up. It is very dark in some areas and walkways were very snow covered, but they do offer boots and snowsuits if needed which we did end up using.
Mel_C, Nov 2024
The whole experience was amazing, but be aware that the meeting point is at the Radisson, not where the map takes you!
The dogs were so well behaved and loved seeing us even though it was raining!
The food and drink was tasty and was just what we all needed.
We learnt a lot about the dogs and the northern lights and the guides were really helpful and informative.
