- Our tour operates on all weather conditions. It is possible to find clear sky even in seemingly challenging weather conditions and we often see the Northern Light on nights when the weather forecast is worst.

- There are no refunds or free trip if we don’t see the Northern Lights

- This is a real chase that can include many hours of driving. The return time to Tromsø is between midnight and 04:00
- It is recommended to dress warm
- You may be tired the next morning
- We make toilet stops if possible, but sometimes we have to use nature
- This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants. In the rare event that a trip needs to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided. In such cases, we will also offer to reschedule your trip to an alternative trip.

It was amazing!! They will check the skies and go where they need to to catch the lights! We ended up in Finland!! We got fed and watered as we sat chatting around a fire. Tessa and Brian were really knowledgeable and made the whole experience incredible, can’t praise this trip enough

This was an amazing Northern Lights chase tour! Nick was our guide. He is knowledgeable and was determined to find clear skies. We stopped at few different spots and it all paid off. Nick and the driver (sorry I forgot his name) were a team. They were friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience comfortable and fun. Highly recommend! 🌌✨

Our minibus was comfortable and wasn't overcrowded. Our guide was very knowledgable about the night sky and the northern lights. We shared an amazing display by Mother Nature and the lights danced for hours above our heads. We made 3 different stops, had a lovely and warm bonfire and our meal, drinks and dessert was tasty.

The best tour that one can take while in Tromso with very passionate and knowledgeable guides Tessa and Michiel. The hot black currant drink with cookies, pulled pork dinner by the campfire and with auroras dancing in the Arctic sky - it was simply magical. You can just enjoy the sights since the team takes photos and mails them to you the same night. Be prepared for the cold with extra layers.

We had a beautiful night last night. 12 of us including the crew left in a gorgeous mercedes minibus hunting the auroras at 7 pm. We drove along beautifully fjords for lovely pictures and then stopped at another roadside beach where we camped. A small campfire, hot juice, cookies and then a warm dinner while we waited and saw the auroras dancing overhead... Nothing I say or share can express how majestic it was - and a could almost say it was Shiv's tandav but in a beautiful happy mood. We finally left from there around 12 and reached back to the hotel by 2. Special thanks to the crew Michiel, Mark, Irene and our driver Ivan for the perfect evening!

Wow, what a phenomenal experience from beginning to end! Renaud and Pawel were a fantastic team. Reindeer sightings, an awesome road trip playlist, great fireside dinner, a shooting star, and the most majestic aurora show. We are pairs of sisters who lost our sweet mother/grandmother just two weeks ago and seeing the heavens come alive was just magical. Thank you for a night that will go down in the books to remember forever!

Definitely recommend this experience and if you have Owen as your tour guide and/or Jesus as your tour guide, it’s definitely worth the money. Honestly this was an amazing experience. Our tour guide Owen and driver Jesus were amazing. We didn’t have high hopes because the day was very cloudy and we couldn’t even see the sun but Owen stayed very optimistic and took us all the way to Finland to ensure we had the best opportunity to see them. The bus was very clean and nice. Owen was very knowledgeable about the lights and Norwegian culture and told us so much about them. He also took amazing pictures of us.
I was traveling with my grandma which made me nervous that a tour like this may be too much for her but Owen was very accommodating, allowing her to sit on a box of fire wood and offering to walk her back and forth from the bus whenever she got too cold and doing anything possible to ensure she was comfortable.
It was freezing cold but the fire helped a lot. I didn’t realize we’d be staying so late and got back at 4:15 so just keep in mind it may go until then to ensure lights are seen but it was so worth it. It was beautiful and Owen predicted it perfectly while also managing our expectations. Jesus drove amazingly and got us through an intense blizzard on the way back. They were a great duo. My one complaint (and this was not Owen’s fault) is that my boot was wet when I received so definitely bring the best clothing possible in case what they give you does not work the way you want. Also wear a lot of layers because you will be outside for a while.

I booked this tour for the last day of my vacation to Tromsø. I booked this tour just in case my sister and I didn’t see the Aurora on our other excursions. Well I’m so glad I did! By the day of the tour I was feeling pessimistic about actually seeing the lights. Not only did we see the lights but she put on an amazing show! Thank you Bailey for your expertise in findings not one but two amazing spots for us to see the Aurora Borealis. Thank you Ivan for your safe driving in less than ideal conditions. If you’re looking to see the Northern Lights while visiting Tromso this is the tour to take!

No lights, sadly, but Karolina and our driver (Ivan?) did everything they could to help us find them, and Karolina was full of interesting stories as we sat around the fire hoping. The jumpsuits provided were the best I found in Tromso--so warm and so clean(!!)--and we got to try to Turmat, Norwegian freeze-dried expedition food, which was surprisingly delicious. It was a pleasant first search for the lights, though I will say that the price was nearly $100 more pp than Northern Norway Travel's minibus tour, which was lacking only the stories and the nice suit (there was a suit, but it had holes...). If you're on a budget, you can probably find another small-ish tour with good reviews, too.

David was absolutely amazing. He knew everything about the lights and where to go and made sure to keep us safe and as warm as possible. Highly recommend this tour, we saw the lights so much thanks so him. He also took amazing photos. A once in a life time experience.
Unfortunately I was very sick so stayed on the bus when we stopped for dinner and the fire for most of the time but otherwise it was an amazing experience.

We did the minibus tour with Felix and it was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Felix really helped me with my camera and what settings to put it on to get the best results. We stopped in a little open cabin with a campfire and the lights gave us an amazing show! Thank you so much, it was an unforgettable experience!

It was a magical experience that I will never forget. The staff was so helpful, and they drove all the way to Finland just so we could see the lights, as it was cloudy in Norway. They were so helpful. I would recommend it to anyone.

We didn't see the lights due to cloudy rainy weather, and while I know the guides cannot control the conditions, I do wish they had cancelled our chase like other companies did that night. We were out for 6 hours and for the majority of that time we were settled in one place around a small camp fire staring at the clouds. There was a distinct lack of chase or urgency to move and find a better spot or even just admit defeat and ask us if we wanted to end early. The guide seemed very unsure of himself and where to go, it was his first season of chasing in Norway and his inexperience was apparent. It felt like he was just waiting out the clock to give us the minimum of 6 hours promised, and he seemed very unconcerned with the pursuit of the lights. This was a very expensive tour and for that money there were no stools, we were sitting on the ground on reindeer pelts, and when wearing the winter suits this was very uncomfortable. Most of us ended up lying down on our backs or stomachs cos sitting up was impossible. The food for the price was not good, dehydrated army food packs were served and did not taste great, honestly I would have preferred a good sandwich over that pack, which was again difficult to eat given how we were seated. I will say the warm blackcurrent juice was the only good thing about the tour. I contacted the company before the tour and expressed my concerns given the cloud cover and was assured their guides were knowledgeable and would do everything they could to chase good spots and this just was not my experience. I would have been less frustrated if we were on the move trying for 4 hours then settled down for 1 hour to eat and rest but it was the opposite and that was a shame. Would not recommend, and would rather advise people to book with Wandering Owl who gave us a wonderful experience.

What a great adventure. We did 2 different northern lights tours and this company provided a far superior service. The entire experience from the pick up through the drop off was very well organized and the guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. To top it all off mother nature came through on her end as well and provided us with a great sky of lights several times throughout the evening. Thanks Andrea for such a great experience!

This adventure was absolutely worth every cent! We were lucky to have incredible weather, which allowed us to enjoy the lights dancing for several hours. Jonas, Felipe, and Pablo were outstanding hosts, bringing such positive energy that everyone felt comfortable. Jonas and Felipe were especially helpful with their photography tips, enabling us to capture amazing shots like pros, while also taking photos of us and sharing them afterward. Plus, the minibus was comfortable and spacious, making the journey even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this adventure!

We started this trip with moderate expectations given that we were travelling in September at the very beginning of Northern Lights season, and we could not have been happier with the experience! Not only did we end up getting to see the lights, but we had a great time along the way!
Our lead guide Jonas, his assistant Felix, and our driver Doll all had infectious enthusiasm, and it became quickly evident how knowledgeable Jonas was as he explained his decision-making in real time as he was selecting our route to try to seek out the best conditions possible for a chance at seeing the lights. We started out in Tromso under significant cloud cover, and we ultimately ended up in a clear spot where we could see stars, and about 10-20 minutes later, the lights appeared! I had forgotten to pack my portable phone charger (which could have been a huge disappointment if I hadn't been able to take pictures) and Felix saved the day by letting me borrow his, and while Felix and Jonas were working hard to make sure everyone got some good pictures with the lights in the background, Doll was out holding up a reindeer pelt to block the light from the campfire to help them (it was great teamwork the whole way!) While they take pictures for you on their cameras, they also showed those of us with newer iPhones how to adjust settings to capture the lights, and the iPhone pictures turned out amazing too!
The minibus was very comfortable, (be prepared for 2-4 hours on the bus to navigate away from light pollution, cloud cover etc...) the thermal suits came in quite handy, (even when its not that cold out, prolonged exposure at night can still get chilly without the suit) and the chili dinner (suitable for vegan, vegetarian etc...) was great, and I also thought the small size of this group was ideal to make for a fun time meeting new people while at the same time ensuring that everyone can get any individualized attention they may need along the way.
I can't say enough nice things about Jonas, Felix and Doll. They gave it their all to make sure that we had the best chance possible of seeing the lights, they were very helpful and accommodating for my companion with some limited mobility, and we ended up getting an incredible view of the Northern Lights!! Hats off to our amazing guides, and we would highly recommend this experience!!
