Transport, organization, Sami people, cultural talk, reindeer feeding, camp were all excellent and worth the tour. The vegetarian/vegan meal of light vegetable soup not equal to the thick, deer meat, potato, carrot stew. Need a veg stew just minus the meet.a

Tromsø Lapland offers a unique opportunity to learn about the Sami culture from indigenous people. Fascinating insights into their relationship with reindeer and had the best experience on the reindeer sled ride. Everything was well organised and we were given clear instructions ensuring everyone had a great and safe experience.

The tour was very enjoyable, evenly paced and well organized. We drove for an hour outside of Tromso, enjoyed feeding the reindeer, then sledding, followed by a hearty soup and stories from the Sami. It’s truly a wonderful experience and a great way to spend a morning in Tromso. Highly recommend.

The sleigh ride was so much fun and getting to be with the reindeer while feeding them was also a highlight. Learning about the Sami culture was very interesting and it was fun to try the reindeer stew.

We departed Tromso and rode about an hour into the Laplands. The tour included warm drinks, light snacks, reindeer feeding, sled ride, photo opportunities with the reindeer and Sami people, lunch (reindeer stew or a vegan option), bread, cookies, and some great examples of Sami culture. It was a very fun experience that the whole family enjoyed. Learning about the Sami was absolutely fascinating. Highly recommend this tour for children of all ages 1-99!

This tour is amazing. Highly recommend. Unfortunately there wasnt enough snow for the sledding and relieved a partial refund for that bit but the rest was great anyway. The sami talk was also very interesting and the food was good.

Feels like an average experience for tourists. Nothing was really explained in depth and there were a lot of international staff and only one Sami. The experience is basically petting reindeers plus eating stew (the sledding was cancelled on our excursion day). The tour felt a bit over-charged and too much mass tourism for my likes.

Booked this trip as we had an extra day and wasn’t sure what to do with it. It was the trip I was least bothered about, but it was incredible!!! Learning about modern day Sami culture and spending time with the real life reindeer hearders was an experience I’ll never forget. Animals are so well cared for, unlike most animals in tourism nowadays. So glad we booked it. Staff were all really friendly, welcoming and funny too! Trip highlight so far

OK i want to start off by saying the Sami guide presenting was awesome. We had a conversation with him after the conclusion of the event and we really got some great insights into modern Sami culture. To be honest it would have been better if we skipped the stew and the reindeer and just had the morning chatting with him. It would also be cool if he could integrate more of this modern perspective on sami life and culture into his base chat.
The reindeer meeting was badly executed. Very little effort was given to explain about reindeers and their behaviour etc beforehand other than to tell us to watch out for the horns. The staff in the coral could barely speak English and none could answer what should have been a simple question "can reindeer feel it if you touch their horns".
There were several foreigners working there which made me feel as if an opportunity for Samis is taken away.
Unfortunately there was no sledding as the weather was bad early in the morning. The conditions had improved dramatically by the time we got there but no reversal on the decision was made disappointingly, although a partial or full refund was offered so I can't complain too much about that.
The stew didn't taste great, and the tents where we ate it felt very modern sadly.
All in all I feel I missed out on the authentic Sami experience I was looking for. I think next time I will just invite the guy offering the tour for a few beers.

It’s a nice experience to see and feed the reindeers. Some reindeers can be aggressive and bully other reindeers during feeding, so be careful of course. The Sami culture is interesting to learn about. The only thing we didn’t get to do was the sledding because it was too wet for the reindeers to pull us. It has been raining and snowing.

We took part in the Reindeer Sledding and Feeding with Sami Culture trip in Tromsø.
The guide was very friendly and gave us a lot of information already on the bus.
The Sami people prepared the event perfectly. We fed the reindeer and socialized with them.
After a pleasant sleigh ride, we sat down in a heated cabin and watched an explanation of the life and customs of the Sami people.
The locals were very friendly and warmly answered many questions about their culture. They served us excellent deer stew,
pastries, hot tea and chocolate.

Bus ride was comfortable and prompt. Arriving at the camp was a sight in itself, incredible scenery for as far as one can see. Staff were incredibly attentive and kind. Only downside to the reindeer experience was that you were limited to 1 bucket for feeding, which is fair enough however compared to other tours where you can feed them as much as they will willingly eat was a little bit of a drawback and having been told this prior would have allowed me to savour the food I was given to feed the reindeer. Otherwise the reindeer all seemed happy and felt as if they were well treated.
The sledding was a slight let down, due to an overbooking, myself and others were told to come back at a later time to sled, however at the time we were told to come back to sled, the rest of the group was ushered away for lunch and created some division which wasn’t the nicest, opting out of sledding so I could eat with the main group, would suggest not selling so many tickets that you cannot fit everyone in at the same time, or, give more time and then allow everyone to eat together once all have had the experience.
The food offering was great and the environment was fantastic, being offered more if you were hungry and vegetarian was offered for those that do not wish to eat reindeer stew. Bread, biscuits, tea and coffee were all on the table as well which was a nice touch. The Sami story telling after was great and really gave a good insight to the Sami lifestyle. Prompt departure had everyone back on time in downtown Tromsø.

Great experience feeding the reindeer and learning about the SAMI culture. We were supposed to go sledding with the Reindeer but due to soft snow we couldnt, the tour company gave us about 30% off due to this, pretty awesome! The reindeer were friendly and easygoing, we had the ability to take pictures with them, not all of them wanted to be petted and they let us know by shying away. The lunch provided consisted of stew, cookies, tea, hot chocolate and coffee, there was a firepit and beautiful scenery.
