We had an amazing trip, thanks to David and Arnt. We unfortunately did not see any proper Northern Lights, but you can’t preplan this. Still, both of our guides made absolutely the best out of our experience. They were insightful, kind and fun. They did everything they could, from changing locations to stopping on the way, to maximize our chances of seeing northern lights. We didn’t see any, but we learned a lot and saw some beautiful nature. Well done, we highly recommend to chose this tour and would do it again!

Well organised tour , with our very enthusiastic, kind and attentive guide Margo. Comfortable & warm mini bus, with night camera attached for aurora viewing. Travelled approx 1.5 hours to the centre of Ringvassoya Island, searching for a micro climate & the stars’, which we found , despite persistent rain in Tromso! After a barbecue of hot dogs and roasted marshmallow’s, plus plenty of hot coffee / chocolate, the stars appeared, followed in time by a beautiful dancing aurora show. A second beautiful aurora burst , this time on our way home on the eastern coast line of Kvaloya, Fantastic photos and great company, made for a really excellent evening ( out for 7 hours) and wonderful memories.

David and our driver (sorry forgot name) were both amazing, attentive and informative.
On our way they were busy checking the science for the right spot, and on a challenging night they pulled it out the hat, took loads of photos, while somehow setting up camp sorting dinner and showing people how to photograph on phones. We also had a loo tent that was warmed. Kind enough to drop everyone back their accommodation.

Amazing experience. Special thanks to Margaux (guide) and Gregor (Bus Pilot). They were amazing. Margaux kept us entertained throughout the tour. Both were very efficient in arranging the fireside experience when we reached the spot for viewing, and Margaux took some amazing photos of the Northern Lights for us. Margaux made our experience amazing. If we visit Tromso again, we will definitely seek out the tour with this company and especially with Margaux and Gregor.

David, our tour guide was excellent. He was so excited to go looking for a clear sky to see the aurora. While waiting he prepared a fire and we cooked hotdogs and marshmallows. Even though it is nature and cannot expect to see the lights, David did his best and made sure we saw them in a couple of locations. He took many pictures which were complimentary (not all companies do this) and emailed them to me the next day.

Fantastic work finding and photographing the Northern Lights. Had a short drive to an amazingly brilliant light display.
Downside was the dinner (cold hot dog with small stale bun and a Dixie cup of semi warm hot chocolate).

A great trip. Signs of aurora was low, but they came out dancing. The guide Monica was very knowledgeable and took care of everything. We only had to drive about an hour out of Tromso. The minibus had a sky cam which was great to keep a watch as we went along. When we set up camp we had hot dogs drinks and snacks. They also proved a heated tent for the toilet which was a great perk. Overall a great trip.

David was a very enthusiastic and attentive guide. He was very knowledgeable and gave us photography tips. The sausages and marshmallows on the camp fire were a lovely touch. Would highly recommend. Definitely borrow the thermal suits!
The photos provided by David were great too.

It was a cloudy night, the tour guide Margo worked very hard to find some Northern Light for us. She made more than 5 stops without any luck. However when everyone gave up and on our way back she finally found some; and everyone on the tour got the chance to take photos.

We were well looked after by Margot. She took great photos of us. We were lucky and saw amazing Northern lights that night. We were also given photos and time lapse video of what she took. Amazing images.

This northern lights tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity that includes a relaxing dinner and phenomenal family and individual pictures. Our host (Margot) was extremely knowledgeable and guided us patiently to see this natural wonder. We were lucky enough to get an extraordinary display of the lights! We couldn’t have asked for a better night.

We got driven to a spot where our guides set up a fire and some chairs, then set up tripods for us. They took heaps of professional photos for us and were overall very helpful, nice, and kind.

Even though the Northern Lights didn’t show up, the tour was still worth it. Margaux was a fantastic host - friendly, knowledgeable, and great at keeping the group in good spirits. We even crossed into Finland, which was nice to tick off the list. Loved the campfire, hot dogs, and stories. Bad weather, but great guiding and driving on a small mini bus which felt more personal. Would happily go again and hope we get lucky next time!

With snow forecast and cloudy cover for the past two days. Tour should have been canceled. Rode around in snowing conditions, stopped numerous times, had a hot dog cooked over an open flame while pouring down snow. Tour should have been canceled or at least and opportunity to get out of tour. Terrible experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations.
Winter weather in Northern Norway can be extremely unpredictable, and it often changes quickly, even on nights with challenging forecasts. For that reason, we always conduct multiple live checks before and during the tour using real-time sky cameras and updated weather data. On this night, conditions showed potential openings, which is why the tour went ahead.
That said, we completely understand your frustration. Driving in snowfall and searching for clearer skies can be uncomfortable, and we’re sorry that the experience felt disappointing rather than enjoyable. Our goal is always to offer guests every possible chance to see the Northern Lights, but also to ensure they feel safe, informed, and taken care of.
We would very much appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can review your experience and find a fair solution. Please feel free to contact us through Viator or directly with your booking details.
Thank you again for your feedback — it helps us improve.

We had an amazing experience. The guide was friendly and enthusiastic. The driver drove with care. It was a small group of 15 and we went to places where there was nobody else around. We were able to experience the Northern lights without the crowds you get on big bus tours.
The bus cameras showed us some amazing displays even before we stopped.
We stopped in several places to view the lights and they didn’t disappoint. Absolutely spectacular.
The little warm toilet tent was private and clean. Much nicer than the bushes when you have lots of layers to contend with.

Arctic Circle Tours did a great job of showing us some *amazing* lights on our evening. Perhaps we were lucky with the night; however, they provided great photos and food for the evening and everyone was so helpful!
Thanks!!!!

The Northern Lights came out to play and our wonderful guides made it so much better. We were treated to a campfire under the Milky Way, snacks and excellent stories while we waited for the show. Our guide was enthusiastic and we are so glad we went with this tour. Thanks!

Mother nature is in control of weather you see the northern lights or not. However a great guide like Margo and a wonderful safe driver like Martina navigated and I was able to witness the most beautiful aurora

Amazing Aurora watching tour. David is a great guide, He made sure we got comfortable at the cold night by providing us hot chocolate, delicious hot dog sandwiches, hot soup, and some blankets. He lit camp fire for us too. I was freezing cold, the blanket and fire really helped. while we were waiting for the activities, David even offered to take pictures for us for free and look around for any things happening. Can’t expect more. The best part, the magic happened at last, the aurora dance on the sky with colorful lights. It was incredible moments. We all screamed and ready for shooting this once in a lifetime photos. Wow, what an experience!
Thanks David and his girlfriend( she was a great assistant for us)
I love you and best wishes!

Amazing experience! David was so passionate about giving us the best experience. Although weather wasn’t the best in Tromso, with his experience, he drove us to Finland. We saw beautiful Northern lights, ate hot dogs over the fire and Norwegian chocolate for dessert. David took some of the most wonderful pics of everyone in our small group.

We traveled 3hrs to find the lights, got home at 3am. Team worked hard. ‘Meal’ was do-minimum hot dogs warmed over the fire. It was bitterly cold. Lights are difficult to see with human eyes so slightly disappointing.

This was an amazing experience! We met at the Ami hotel where we could borrow thermal suits and boots. We set out in a minibus. It was clean and comfortable .
Our guide was Margo who was knowledgeable and friendly. She went through the science of the Northern Lights, told us legend about the lights and talked about the Sami People. She set up a campfire where we roasted hot dogs and had hot drinks. A heated outhouse was set up. We were worried as it was rainy, hailing, windy, and cloudy. But Margo told us not to lose hope as she had done her research and took us to an area where the clouds were supposed to part. She was correct as we saw a fantastic light show! There are also tripods for us to borrow for phones or cameras.
100% recommended!

This experience is like no other. This is a must. This company was amazing. Very tailored to a small group, the tour guide would explain about everything and the experience along the way was amazing. They were very attentive, made the whole experience better and better. They care a lot about everyone enjoying the experience and ensure that everyone is comfortable. You get the best package here. You get a scenic drive, some history, a lot of snacks, chocolates, marshmellows, sausages, drinks, overall great, they even have a bonfire ready for you to feel cozy goving the cold outside it is truly appreciated, and a porter potty with even a warmer for you! Not all companies do this. That means that you dont have to freeze and pee in a corner or hold it in for 7 hours. To add to this they take their time to show you how to use your camera and even take photos for you. We drove to Finland because that is where the clear skies were and they did everything to find the aurora and we did! It was spectacular! We will definitely use this company again and our tour guide David just made the whole experience 11/10! Great company, great staff!

From the start to finish, it was an incredible experience. From the meetup at the Ami Hotel where we were greeted warmly to the drop-off near a taxi stand well past midnight, it was a perfectly managed tour. We were taken to a frozen lake near the Finnish border, two hours drive from Tromsø, where the sky was clear. Lady Aurora then obliged and put on an incredible dance in the sky. Meanwhile the two lovely ladies on the ground managed the entire experience incredibly well. They set up a warm toilet and a bonfire, told us stories about Auroras and took great photos. Overall, an experience to remember. I reccomend this company very highly.

We’ve been on Northern Lights tours in Alaska, Iceland, Canada and Finland and none compare to this tour and the guides! First the vehicle used seats 15ish there were 13 last night. While we met up with another group from the same company they had their space and we had ours so the small group setting stayed intact. The vehicle is equipped with a sky camera that everyone can monitor during the evening. When we set out the cloud cover was 100% and it was snowing pretty heavy but Margot and Marie drove us 2+ hours into Finland where we stopped at the perfect spot with skies full of stars on a frozen lake with incredible landscape. They set up a fire, ring of chairs, reindeer skin blankets and incredibly a toasty warm toilet! We honestly were in heaven with the stars and camp fire, roasting marshmallows, hot dogs, hot drinks, dessert and listening to the history of Northern Lights belief s from all over the world. We stayed for about 90 minutes and were packing up to head to another spot when the sky opened up and did its thing! We enjoyed one of the best lights displays we’ve seen and we we’ve seen a few! What set this company apart is the lengths that they went to make sure we were comfortable (I was traveling with a broken foot) and had the best odds of a fantastic night and memorable experience … Mission accomplished Ladies! Thank you both for an incredible night full of fun times and laughs! You set the bar extremely high this a MUST book when in Tromso regardless of weather and/or sky conditions!!!!

From the first interaction with David I knew it was a good omen for the night ahead. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about getting everyone in his remit the best experience he can. He was postive throughout the trip, pulled over whenever there was a glimpse of the northern lights and set up a nice spot for a bbq. We were extremely fortunate to witness what we did with seconds of arriving at the final destination. Thank you David from the both of us! You are the man and made our trip one to remember.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give this great feedback. You are absolutely right, it is never boring on a trip with David, his interest in photography and the Northern Lights as well as his good mood contribute to a great experience. We look forward to seeing you again in the future! :)

We did this tour a year ago and having done other Northern Lights tours elsewhere more recently, this still lives on as the best one by far!
We had Bert as our guide as well as a driver (whose name I'm afraid I can't remember) but they were an incredible team. Bert was the best tour guide we could've asked for - super knowledgeable and interesting, very attentive and friendly and really made our night memorable. We didn't think we'd end up seeing the Northern Lights after 7 hours despite best efforts chasing them all the way to the Finland border, but on our way back to the hotel, suddenly we got lucky and had a beautiful show - with beautiful photos to follow! Totally worth it and thanks again to Bert for making it such a memorable night!

The transportation was comfortable, the guides were fab (Martine and Margaux). We had an amazing show of lights. It had been cloudy during our travels so we were unsure we would see anything but our guides took us to the perfect spot close to the Finland border. The bonfire was a nice touch. Overall I would recommend this activity 100%.
