What an amazing day seeing so many beautiful sights. We were also lucky enough to see a moose and reindeer in the wild. Bert, our guide was very informative, knowledgeable and friendly. He clearly loves his job. You won’t have any regrets booking the trip. It’s a wonderful experience.

So beautiful and exceptional tour guide taking us to the most incredible locations. We loved his stories and knowledge

Excellent tour through which we were able to see several gorgeous places on Kvaloya: fjords, inlets, mountains and beaches. Our tour guide Simon shared a lot of interesting information about Norwegian and Sami cultures. He also took very nice photos of participants. We were lucky enough to see some wildlife (seals, reindeer, white-tailed eagle). There was a nice lunch/snack break with pastries and warm drinks. The pacing and time was OK - I never felt rushed.

The tour was full of amazing views.
Our tour guide Simon was great and very knowledgeable, he took us to his favourite spots to see beautiful fiords and beaches and he made sure to take pictures of everyone. We got lucky and we saw wild reindeers on the road. The norwegian pastry and the mocha were also very good. Definitely recommend ✨

A lovely trip. Simon was very friendly and knowledgeable. Saw some lovely scenic spots and learnt about the area and it's history. Unfortunately the wildlife didn't play ball but didn't take away from the trip. Had lovely hot drinks and pastries on the beach and followed up with some lovely photos.
Miriam_O, Feb 2026
Our tour was not interesting. We did not see any wildlife. Drove from one Fiord to another. I think that it was a waste of time and money

Our tour guide Simon was super friendly and knowledgeable and regaled us with lots of interesting and informative facts about the different locations and Norwegian and Sami culture. Simon stopped of at several different locations, allowing us to admire the view, take photos of the stunning scenery and at the same time pointing out any wildlife which on this occasion included seals and reindeer. There was always something interesting to observe on our trip and the tour flew by and was greatly enjoyed by myself and my grown up daughters. On our last stop we picnicked on the beach and it was very heart warming for myself to be provided with food which addressed my complex food allergy. I did not expect that and I have never had that level of service in the U.K. Thank you Simon for this and the lovely memories that we made. I thoroughly recommend Simon and this company for any trips to be made in Tromso.

Barbara was an excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and took fantastic photos. I highly recommend this tour.

It's been a lovely experience with Simon. Beautiful scenery everywhere, tasty treats and good commentary. Not rushed. Friendly and fun guide.

We left Tromso in a blizzard, and yet when we reached our first stop the skies had cleared, views were stunning, and the history fascinating. Simon you were a brilliant guide, thank you for your kindness and patience with our questions. Great photos too, a treat to have you as tour photographer. Magical landscape, well worth exploring.

My daughter and I joined the Arctic fjord drive with Northern Horizon on 31 December, guided by Bert and Dom, and had a wonderful experience. After days of stormy weather, we were lucky to have calm, clear skies and temperatures around -10°C, allowing the landscapes to truly shine.
The mountains, fjords, lakes, and hills were stunning, lit by the soft winter light of the hidden sun. We also spotted wildlife including reindeer and moose. Dom is a very capable driver, and Bert is informative and passionate about the local flora and fauna.
A fantastic and highly recommended Arctic experience.

Saw some wildlife but the weather was so bad it was hardly worth going as no views at all and spent most of the time sat in dark minibus. Bert the guide was great and full of enthusiasm which helped but if weather is poor it’s not worth the money.

We had a truly wonderful fjord tour with Simon. He took us through Kvaloya, sharing stunning views of dramatic fjords, beautiful frozen lakes and waterfalls along the way. We were lucky enough to spot reindeers and even otters in the wild, which made the experience feel extra special.
To end the day, we stopped at a cosy beach for hot chocolate and pastries, a perfect, peaceful moment. On the drive back, Simon played Sami and Viking music, helping us feel and understand the contrast between the cultures.
His passion, deep knowledge of Nordic life, and genuine love for what he does made this an unforgettable experience.

This was a great tour. The guide was knowledgable and helpful.
We had a very windy day so it was hard to stay at each viewpoint too long. (And the fog covered a lot of the scenery). But you could see how beautiful it would be if the weather were nice.

Beautiful views with the added bonus of seeing a seal, 2 Golden Eagles and a moose.
Lots of information given during the journey.

The tour took you away from Tromso island to an area to the north west towards Tromvic.
Several stops are made at scenic spots with the option to take photos. The guide also took some photos and will , if wanted, take photos of yourself and forward them on to you. Just before returning to Tromso a stop was made for a drink and cookie. Make sure you wear lots of layers as if windy the temperature is a lot lower than in Tromso itself. The tour lasted just over 4 hours.

Beautiful fjords and scenery.
Best thing about the tour was definitely the continuous insightful commentary by Barbara. She gave the tour real value.

The team was incredible. They did a great job showing us a variety of Fjords, setting us up for cool pictures and explaining the areas. It was cold so they offered boots and warm suits to those who needed it. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy during the snack portion which was awesome. They had tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus the snacks. Tour was ~4.5 hours long. Saw lots of reindeer.

We went on this tour expecting to see some pretty scenery and the team at Northern Horizon delivered and then some. A lot of great information, local knowledge and insight to everything around us. We throughly enjoyed this whole trip and the drinks snacks were also well appreciated (now looking into recipes for Skolebrød as this was delicious! Some even took a dip into one of the fjords! We saw a seal, an eagle and even an orca made an appearance off in the distance. It was nice to take part ina tour where the guides were so enthusiastic about the trip and we fully recommend this tour with Claire and Wojciech. They did their best to make sure everyone was taken care of and comfortable. Will book again when we return!

What a great trip. Knowledgeable and friendly guide and driver. A great choice of stopping points- with never too much driving between them. Plus Herman gave me free photography trips which was a real bonus.
What a great way to see this stunning landscape.

I really enjoyed the tour, seeing a good deal of reindeer and a ton of beautiful scenery. Claire was an amazing tour guide and was very friendly and conversational. It's nice when you can tell someone enjoys what they do. Highly recommend.

We had the best time on our nature tour and Kamil was a fantastic guide and photographer! He made it so much fun and the landscapes were just breathtaking. Definitely a top highlight of our trip. 10 stars!!
Ashley_R, Mar 2025
Adrian and Johanna were great guides. They were very kind and welcoming and they had great info to share. I thought the path we took around the fjords was good.
This tour was a little less structured than I would have liked. I think the weather dictated where we could go. We also walked through LOTS of snow. I watched people fall, almost fall and get stuck in (sometimes) waist deep snow trekking to the photo spots. I would have liked the guide to be a little more attentive during this time. I just hadn't planned on that level of walking for the tour.
There also isn't really lunch included. For us lunch was coffee and a pastry.
Overall it was pretty good. Focusing on photos more than anything else.

Despite the rainy weather, our tour guide Adrien and the charming lady driver made our group tour through the Kavaloya area, Grotfjord, and the arctic mountain region truly unforgettable. The mini bus stopped at various scenic spots, allowing ample time for photos, and Adrien even took several pictures of the guests. Throughout the journey, he provided insightful commentary on the history and geographical features of the areas we traveled through. We were also fortunate enough to spot two wild reindeers. Highly recommended for nature lovers!

Nice guide, explanations with humor, the best spots and excellent group size! An amazing day! Would definitely recommandatie this tour

Big thank you to Michael who was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. We had a wonderful time exploring the Kvaloya island which is must do day trip. We stopped at many picturesque places to see the fjords and the scenery is breath-taking. Michael was very good at adjusting the stops to make the best use of the light and gave us a lovely insight into the area and general facts about Tromso/Norway. The places we stopped at were very quiet and peaceful and we hardly bumped into other tourists. Highly recommended day trip.

Went on this tour last October. Our tour guide was Kamil, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He also had a professional camera and captured many lovely photos of us. Would definitely recommend. 😊
