Plenty of seats available and Lorenzo was very helpful and knowledgeable on the area and its wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a few families of orcas. Worth every penny

Excellent day out - great guides and lots of information given. We were lucky to see a large pod of orcas and two humpback whales.

Well equipped boat
Knowledgeable and informative guide, who made sure everyone got to see the awesome whales
Great day to see orcas and fin whales
The highlight of our trip to Tromso
Sabina_G, Dec 2025
The staff is exceptional, especially Lorenzo, whose english is on the high level, clear and excellent pronunciation, and above everything he's very informational, about whales and generally. The other staff are very polite and reachable.
Seeing whales are lifetime experience!
Worth every penny spent!
Heidi_K, Dec 2025
The humpback whale viewing was difficult because guests at the front wouldn’t kneel to allow more people to see. Otherwise, the guide was great and seeing the orcas was delightful! The cabin was comfortable and overall we really enjoyed our experience

Great bunch of folks running the ship, helpful and chatty.
Guide gave an in interesting talk on the whale's of the area.
Managed to get really good view of Orcas and two hump backed whale's.
James_W, Oct 2025
Amazing day out, in addition to finding spots where we saw both humpback whales and orcas, the tour guide spent a lot of time answering the million questions from my children.
JaneWinum_T, Oct 2025
What a wunderfull trip! The guides were so very kind, clever and funny throughout the 9 hours we were on the boat. Eventhough it was very early in the season, we saw both Ocras and Humpback whales very close to the ship! YEAH! Just go!
Claire_J, Oct 2025
Very knowledgeable staff and although the whales didn't come out to play a lot, the orcas fins and a hump back whale breach was seen by some people on the cruise.
David_K, Jul 2025
The guide was very knowledgeable! We got to see a pod of Orcas and two sets of Humpback whales on the trip. The ship we were on had a front deck, upper back deck, and lower back deck. Make sure to wear your extra warm clothes as it is a lot colder out on the water with the wind (we went in early January). Highly recommend purchasing Dramamine if you get motion sick, they sell the sea bands but my wife started to feel a but faint even with both the meds and bands. The tour takes most of the day but you get to see lots of pretty scenery. We even got to see one of the Norwegian salmon farms on the way back. The trip did not provide free food, but the food on the boat was not over priced. On our trip they sold traditional Norwegian candy that my wife and I shared with a cup of ramen and some snacks we had also packed for the trip.

Whales were not available but the substitute was over-sold. Significantly fewer birds and animals were seen than promised and the fishing village had nothing to offer.

It was an amazing experience, the cruise team was very good, Raul the whale expert was very knowledgeable about whales and guided the tour in a fun and interesting way, after we reached high seas we were able to see the whales and it was incredible. Raul went the extra mile when ensuring to share the best video taken of a close whale encounter at sunset that amazed all of us.

Amazing experience can’t recommend this trip enough. Reccomend getting early to assure a good seat, but best times spent on the deck! Really cool experience very impressed with the facilities on board also!

Not a great experience - the trip barely made it to 6 hours, if that, so feels like a rip off. We were one of the last boats to leave, but a first one to return but a long shot..
I get that the weather and lack of proper daylight this time of year is a factor, but there seemed no genuine interest from any crew on the boat to look for whales. Instead they seemed to be more interested in their phones, and getting the trip over with.
Saw one pod of orcas, and even those were spotted by a fellow passenger and not the crew. There was an announcement that other boat saw some whales elsewhere, but that we won’t bother because ‘they might not be there by the time we get there’ - which is an absolute opposite statement from every other whale watching trip I’ve been on! That’s the whole point of it - to see whales, so no one looking out for them or making any effort made a really poor impression. I get that any sightings are not guaranteed, but the lack of effort was a real let down.
As well as that, there were only 2 bathrooms for 170 or so people, some basic tea and coffee (but no milk..) and the boat just seemed way too small for the amount of people as some areas would get very crowded.
So overall not a great experience & definitely not worth the money.

Crew were friendly and informative. We saw a pod of orcas but not in the ‘usual’ spot but as a consequence of stopping we no longer had time to go to the ‘usual’ spot of activity. The question is of course - better see something than risk seeing nothing. I think though it caught a lot of passengers off guard that we weren’t going to the area of normal activity for humpbacks too. All in all a good day of general sightseeing of the fjords. The downside like so many excursions was the chaos of finding ‘your’ trip in the overwhelming crowds of the many many trips.

Eide, the guide was fantastic and had an obvious love of her job. She was extremely well researched and knowledgeable which made it a fabulous experience. Seeing Orcas and Humpbacks in the wild was incredible. Wrap up warm and waterproof. Get a phone pouch. And take snacks and warm drinks. Well worth the money

Having gone all the way to Tromso for my daughter's 21st birthday specifically to see some whales, the thing she wanted most, 12 hours before departure the trip was cancelled, leaving us with nothing to do on New Year's Eve and waiting to hear if the very large sum of money we paid will ever be refunded.
Disappointing.
Aarthi_S, Dec 2024
The crew members and the activity itself was good. Great views and decent orca and whale sighting. Crew member checked in on us and helped us out when needed. Do not underestimate the motion sickness bit as it is pretty bumpy when we get closer to the berent sea and several people threw up. This is only a part of the trip and not the whole time. They will give you a heads up.
The worst part was, getting on the boat was chaotic. They had people booked on a different cruise whose boat broke down board first. They took all the good seats and the rest of us were left with whatever was there even though we have also paid to be on the boat. Also they changed the boarding location multiple times once they docked and finally there was no line and a bunch of people fighting to get on the boat. I expected better organization and communication.
Kathryn_K, Dec 2024
It was exciting and fun and we met some great people, but the boat was very crowded and some shorter people got stuck behind taller people in the front and were not able to see the whales very well. Couldn't they install some risers with railings on the deck so that people in the back can see over those in the front?
Charlotte_P, Dec 2024
What a day! The weather wasn’t great but they warned us with motion sickness bands or meds as the bumps as we crossed the Barents Sea straight were pretty big! Many other companies cancelled but we are so pleased they didn’t! After travelling about 2 hrs we reached the area and the orcas welcomed us. We saw about 4 pods of beautiful majestic orcas. The humpbacks were more coy only showing us flashes of their tails. Well worth the round-trip!!!
Alfred_J, Dec 2024
While I appreciate the crew doing their best in looking for the whales. Also being knowledgeable and explaining about whales and such. But considering the price, it’s not worth it. The journey is a bit long and barely see the whales and whale sharks. Also, the boat’s deck is not large enough to cater all of the guests.
Heather_H, Dec 2024
Really great trip. The scenery on the way out to Skjervoy is beautiful. Once we arrived, we managed to see approx 10 Humpbacks and a similar number of Orca, who also had a calf! Boat offers few snacks and a decent variety of drinks. Warm and cozy inside, but layer up for when you're on deck because it's freezing! Having seen the reviews of this boat on other sites I had originally avoided it, however had to book as other other trip was cancelled due to bad weather and this is all that was left. I need not have worried as it was great, and I actually think we saw more than the other boats.
Susan_B, Dec 2024
Nice, easy way to see whales comfortably and cozy. We saw both orcas and humpback whales. Friendly crew. Wonderful time!
Patrik_G, Feb 2026
Great scenery, friendly crew, clean ship. Because the whales had already left Alternative program with fjord shipping
