This was one of my favorite tours. It was cold, very cold out on the water. Lots of layers needed. The tour guides were excellent and were so respectful of the whales. Lots of interesting information provided and we were looked after. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience! We saw 2 male Orcas and then got to witness the main pod of females and babies feeding on herring. It was so special. 4 hour bus ride to the island and about 4 hours spent there. Suits and boots were provided but I'd heavily reccomend wearing mamy layers of warm clothes. It's windy and you will get splashed. Bring backup cloths for the bus ride home.

It will be cold so layer up! The experience was great and we got very close to orcas and humpbacks. We even got lucky enough to see the orcas and seagulls feeding on herring!

Very cool experience! The drive is about 3-4 hours in one direction and with only ~3 hours of daylight it's important to be on time. The location of the bus pick up is a bit incorrect. If you go to the described location (the hotel), facing the water you need to look right and you'll see a bus terminal with red buses parked, about a 3 minute walk. That is the proper pickup location.
Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. You need to dress very warmly, especially your fingers and toes as you're on a speeding RIB boat and the windchill was definitely in the negative double digits (which you are exposed to for 3+ hours).
We got to see so many orcas and two humpbacks, getting VERY close to them! We even got to see the fjords. 10/10 would recommend

The experience was amazing in the since that we were able to see so many orca. With that said, we were very rushed. I appreciate the desire to have as much time seeing the water, but in doing so, we had to stop because someone lost their glasses. Some people didn’t have the appropriate size in attire and could hardly see. I would recommend spending a little time ensuring everything fits right before getting on the rib.

What an amazing experience!!!! Andy was our tour guide and he gave us once in a life time experience!!! Very knowledgeable and fun sense of humor. We really had a great time! Will definitely be booking again if we ever come back to tromso! So proud to be booking with a few of Norwegian native tours!! Thank you Andy!!!

It was ok. Go into the bus, drive 4 hours.. always in a hurry to get on the water. But then you see the whales and it was amazing. Afterwards again hurry and drive home.
Manihi_K, Nov 2024
It was amazing seeing the orcas over time. Beautiful! A memorable experience. Long drive on the way up and back and a little rushed at the end.
Amy_N, Nov 2024
An absolutely incredible experience! We saw various pods of Orchas and we saw 2 humpback whales. Even the rib boat was an experience in itself, so much adrenaline on the way back! It was magical and I would 100% do it again.
Robin_W, Nov 2024
We had the best time, and saw many families of Orcas and Humpbacks just hanging out at the surface! Definitely dress warm, it gets chilly, but totally worth it!!
Sarina_P, Nov 2024
Amazing trip, we got to see loads of orcas and humpback whales! Brigitta is very knowledgeable and gave us some interesting facts about the whales. Highly recommend!
jerrell_t, Nov 2024
Lovely boat tour that allowed us to see the diff whales like orcas, fin whale and humpback. The guide is very knowledgable and skilful at driving the boat (none of us got wet). We even managed to get close to a family of orcas

Great experience. I came to Norway to see the whales and did several whale watching trips. This one was the best. We got lucky and saw many whales. The guide and information was also great. They also respected the whales.

Our guide was fantastic

An amazing day! Well organised, great staff and just stunning sights. I saw orcas and humpback whales. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough 😊
CarlaS_C, Dec 2023
The tour was great, we saw a lot of orcas, and were very pleased. It is definitely worth it.
But it is important to mention that this a very TOUGH tour from beginning to end. It starts at 5:30am with a 4-hour bus ride into the island, then a 1-hour boat ride to the whale area, around 1.5 hours of the whales, then everything going back.
It’s extremely cold, you DO get wet (you have overalls, but to the very least, your face will get wet), and in general, I don’t think there is enough warning about all this. If you feel this might be too much, choose the other type of boat.
Miranda_S, Dec 2023
The tour operator was literally just transportation. The communication was nearly non-existent from the bus through to the location where we were suited for the cold weather. There was also nearly no communication on the boat. One of the "guides" would say "over there" from behind everyone. There is no way to even turn your head to see which way he might be indicating given all the winter wear and suits you are wearing.
The whales were cool, but we probably saw them for about a total of 10 minutes on a 12 hour day.
Natalie_E, Nov 2023
The early start in the ice and snow was worth it. Timekeeping is important to ensure maximum time on the water. The boat trip itself feels like an adventure from the start. We were lucky enough to see Fin Whales and Orcas feeding. One of the best wildlife watching experiences I have ever had! Only disappointment is that I will probably never enjoy another whale watching trip as much as this one - haha!
Luigi_A, Nov 2023
It took us only 5 mins from the port to see the orcas and whales. They were left and right. Such an amazing experience. Our guide was so informative. She knows what she’s really doing. It’s like she owns that area. 😂😂 I forgot her name but she said she used to live in Fiji. I hope she reads this review. Thank you.
Carly_W, Jan 2023
It’s a once in a lifetime trip but not for the faint hearted as hard going saw so many whales and orcas they really get you where you need to be, they hurry you along but to get the return ferry the driver needs to leave promptly I will never forget this experience
Melissa_R, Jan 2023
Got to see lots of orcas, which was my life goal. Definitely recommend if you’re traveling with someone or family. As a solo traveler, I feel so-so about recommending. Not the friendliest staff but again, I got to see whales and was warm throughout the experience thanks to their equipment.
Alessa_F, Jan 2023
We were very lucky and saw over 50! Orcas in total.
It was a really amazing trip and experience.
Being in a RIB Boat was an incredible experience but it was also super cold 🥶
Kelly_H, Jan 2023
This was a amazing tour from the beginning to the end! The captain of the boat was amazing . She made sure we saw the Orcas and Humpback whales.
Sonya_W, Jan 2023
Although an early start as it was January & a bit of a journey from Tromso to Skjervoy it was definitely worth it. You get all the gear to wear to keep you warm & dry on the RIB. We saw pods of Orca, they were feeding & came close to the boat. The crew give you chance to see them from both sides of the boat. We also saw 4 or 5 humpback whales that were resting. It was starting to get a bit choppy on the way back to the harbour so be prepared for a bumpy, wet but fun ride!
An amazing experience that I will remember always. Highly recommended.
Ashleigh_W, Jan 2023
Such a wonderful experience. Finally got to see HumpBack whales in the wild! Saw atleast 10 or more swimming, playing and feeding. Also saw a Fin Whale, the 2nd largest mammal to Grace this earth.
One of the most breathtaking, once in a lifetime experience. Øystein and his crew were super informative, kind and very entertaining. Highly recommend this tour.
Sarah_D, Jan 2023
It was awesome to be so close. However it was so cold. My mittens were not enough. Take the goggles when offered. We were given only a sandwich after with no water available or anywhere to warm up.
AnnetteS_O, Dec 2022
This was an adventure and an amazing experience! The tour guide was super nice, knowledgeable and very aware of what she was doing. Get ready to get wet.
theresa_d, Nov 2022
The whale watch was incredible. We saw orcas, humpbacks, and minke whales. It did not disappoint. I see reviews saying how rushed it felt. We were on a bus from Tromso. Every minute the bus runs behind that is less time on the boat due to limited sunlight. Our bus had to stop a few time’s either for road cleanup of falling debris then we waited 15 minutes for a tunnel. No fault of the bus driver. When you arrive yes they rush to get you ready but for your benefit. They want you to be able to spend as much time on the water as possible. Yes, you are rushed again to get all the gear off and loaded on the bus. Why because you take two ferries back to Tromso. The bus driver has to get there on time for the ferries. Indeed you will be handed a sandwich to go. Which was delicious. The bus has a try table to eat on. First ferry has drinks and chips if you are thirsty or hungry. Just know it will rushed. My recommendations waterproof socks for extreme cold weather. Our feet were warm with them. Second get glove liners for your gloves. Only part that was cold was my face. It was a cold day 27 degrees Fahrenheit.

While we were very blessed to see so many whales and orcas and that was the main aim, I was a little disappointed with the manner in which the tour was conducted. It felt rushed , there was no greeting or introduction, very little information was given whilst on the RIB, or only to the front few rows and that most of the whale activity was manly on one side of the boat. We were then rushed out the door with a pannini in hand. I have done many types of tours around the world but this one just lacked a little passion and thought for those who spent the time and their money to attend.
Sophia_K, Nov 2022
We had an amazing time! Although the weather was very bad we were extremely lucky and saw Orcas and Humpbacks! The tour guides really tried everything to find the perfect spot and they did not fail :) I would recommend that experience to anyone!!
