This is an absolute must for any trip to Tokyo—or Japan as a whole. It was a truly enjoyable and memorable experience, offering a fantastic introduction to a fun and varied selection of local restaurants and eateries in Ginza.
The evening was brilliantly organised, and our guide was a thoroughly lovely chap—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating local stories that really brought the experience to life. It was the perfect blend of great food, good company, and cultural insight.
A wonderful way to spend an evening and create lasting memories. Many thanks for such a delightful experience.

I ended up having a one-on-one tour, which made the experience feel very personal and relaxed. My guide tailored the evening based on what I had already tried and where I had been, which I really appreciated after traveling through multiple cities.
We spent time walking through back alleys and small market streets, even on a Sunday evening, which gave a different and more local perspective of Tokyo. It wasn’t rushed, and there was space to simply take it all in.
What stood out most was how thoughtful the experience was. It didn’t feel scripted, and the guide adjusted naturally throughout the evening. He even helped me find the last souvenir I had been looking for, which was a nice unexpected touch.
Overall, a very enjoyable and genuine way to end my trip.

Had a rocky start as meeting point once more did was nit correct but a beautiful local lady dropped what she was doing to help me reach out to the guide and helped us meet up as l was the only one on the tour luckily no one else was put out.We started with a quick walk around and then a truly amazing meal which was very generous from there my tour guide asked me if there was anything l wanted to do and he then personalised the tour to what l wanted to do and as l had another group booking stright after we made our way towards my dinner booking which was truly amazing after visiting some shops and finding everything l wanted we also visited a few temple and then another geat meal in a tucked away restaurant which is generally a local haunt then made our way through the market to the train station with perfect directions to my next experience thank you so much to my guide Naoto Kato it was an honour spending the day with you.

Hello dear Guest,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We truly appreciate your understanding regarding the initial meeting point confusion, and we’re very glad everything was resolved smoothly. We’re also touched by the kindness of the local lady who helped you — moments like these truly reflect the warmth and hospitality of Japan.
We’re delighted that once the tour began, you were able to fully enjoy the experience, from the generous and delicious meals to the personalized itinerary tailored to your interests. Creating flexible, guest-focused experiences is at the heart of what we do at Washoku Club, and we’re so happy to know this made your day special.

At Washoku Club, we believe that a great tour is not only about what you see or taste, but also about the stories, culture, and personal connections that make each experience truly memorable. We’re so happy to know that Naoto helped create that for you.
Thank you very much for your high recommendation.
We would be honored to welcome you again on another cultural or culinary journey in Osaka or Kyoto with us in the future.

Highly recommended. Why? Because this gets you away from the standard "touristy" destinations that everybody goes to, such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ginza. Here, you get to see a more earthy side of Tokyo that some call "Salaryman Paradise." I thought it was very interesting, including a stand up sushi bar that I otherwise would never have gone to. Caveat: If you are expecting glitz and glamour, this is not the tour for you. This is not high brow entertainment. You won't see many Westerners or tour busses in this area.

Hello our dear guest,
Thank you so much, Mitchell, for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience.
At Washoku Club culture and food tours, our mission is to take travelers beyond the obvious and let them experience Japan through authentic food and local neighborhoods. Reviews like yours truly mean a lot because they show that our efforts to highlight hidden gems, like the stand-up sushi bar in Shimbashi, are exactly what make the tours special.
Our guides work hard to customize each experience and bring out the real flavor of the city, whether it’s the bustling streets of Shimbashi or the more iconic areas like Shibuya or Shinjuku. It makes us happy to know you enjoyed discovering the “Salaryman Paradise” side of Tokyo with us.
We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you again on another foodie adventure—perhaps our Tokyo Walking Food Tour or Osaka Food Tour and Kyoto Food Tour. There’s always more deliciousness waiting for you!
Thank you
