Itinerary

Begin your sightseeing tour in central Taormina. Meet your guide (and small group, depending on the option selected), and get comfortable on your Segway with an orientation session.

Once you're ready, take off through the city streets to Taormina’s oldest quarter, the Borgo Medievale. Check out the Baroque fountain in Piazza del Duomo, the town hall, and the San Domenico Hotel, once used as an ancient monastery.

Gaze out at the Ionian Sea as you cruise through Piazza IX Aprile, and travel down Corso Umberto, Taormina’s main drag. Then head inside the nearby Villa Comunale to wander the city park, resplendent with flowers and cypress trees, and offering views of Mt. Etna.

Afterward, make your way to the Teatro Greco, dating back to the 3rd century BC. Hear about the gladiatorial games once hosted in the ancient Greek amphitheater as you wander the city's star attraction.

Continue to Porta Catania, where you pause outside the Capuchin church before concluding at your original departure point.

Taormina is a strange but beautiful place. Everything is on a hill. We stayed for 3 days and did this right at the beginning and it gave us an immediate feel where everything is - and not getting out of breath!. This made our visit extra special as we could revisit places we had seen en route at our leisure. Apart from that segways are a blast for any age - you must do it.

Great Tour. Very safe- even with the crowded Taormina streets in the evening. Even got to go to Roberto's for cannoli! Very few activity/tour options in the evenings but we found this one. It was from 6-9pm and was a ton of fun!

It was very well done. We felt completely safe. Leo and Valentina were wonderful. We saw lots that we would not have seen on our own. Spent time making sure we were comfortable on the Segway.

This was a great way to see Taormina. Guide was extremely knowledgeable about Taormina and its history. Segway technician who accompanied us ensured we were confident in the use of the Segway and provided us with helmets.

Our Segway tour was so much fun. None of us had been on a Segway before, and they spent the time teaching us how to operate it. It was scary at first thinking about driving through all the tourists on the streets, but it was surprising very easy. Would definitely do another Segway tour again. My husband now wants one. Our guides were very good.
