Itinerary

After meeting up with your knowledgeable local guide in the center of Palermo, get a brief instructional on the Segway and how to properly ride this two-wheeled electric wonder. Once you're at ease on the vehicle, set off to commence this history-packed tour.

Cruise through Piazza Verdi and view Italy's biggest opera house and then go through the Capo Market, a spot where locals buy fruits and veggies and is home to some of the keysest street food in all of Sicily.

Glide through the streets of the city, through the usually crowded Piazza della Vittoria and stop for a photo op in front of the the imposing Palace of the Normans, named for the Vikings that inhabited Sicily for a while in the Middle Ages. Move on to the lush gardens of Villa Bonanno, crammed with palm trees and other shrubs, flowers and trees.

Float around the city some more, going by churches and buildings that were architecturally influenced by many of Sicily’s erstwhile occupiers, including the Arabs, the Vikings and the French. In Piazza Bolgoni, stop to see two beautiful palaces, Villafranca and Belmote-Riso, and learn about King Charles V.

Take a short break at Mirto Place, take a photo, and then cruise through verdant Garibaldi Garden, before gliding over to the neighborhood of La Kalsa. Ride by the Greek Gate and by Palermo's seafront before stopping for a brief time at the gorgeous Butera Palace and the Church of Santa Maria della Catena.

After a ride through the area of Castellammare, go back to the point where the tour started.

The translator was very difficult to understand. There were also some moments where we rode through heavy traffic. It was interesting but I have been on other tours that were much more informative and entertaining.

tour was great, very good instruction how to use them, and tour was awsome, only thing i would say is that you should give better diretions as to were and how to walk to the pick up place, because it was a guessing game for us as we had to ask where the hotel was, i sugest better job on that part as all you told us was the name of the hotel to meet at and then it was up to us to figure out were it was at thank you mike and robin mcdonnell

Awesome experience! We loved our Segway tour of Palermo. Instruction on Segway use and our guide were the best! Highlight of tour was traveling through the back streets and through the Market area! Loved it!

It was nice because our family of 4 with 2 bigger children first experience with a segway. 2 people from the organisation, 1 to help/guide with the Segway Leo who was very helpfull and funny and 1 guide, but she did not want/dare to use the segway so had to go by foot and had to adapt to her pace and she came only to the real highlights. Palermo is also not such a special city, but was better then on foot as it was really hot.
