As you walk to your first tasting, immerse yourself in the area’s breathtaking French and Spanish architecture, some of which is more than 500 years old, listening as your guide explains the history of the location and its colorful Colonial architecture.
Visit several small local restaurants to enjoy delicious bites and learn about the diverse culinary influences, including Spanish, African, and indigenous cuisines, that give Puerto Rican food its distinctive flavor.

Leslie is an outstanding guide whose customer service is simply praiseworthy. She took excellent care of us, providing a comprehensive agenda that highlighted the unique history and cultural background of Puerto Rico while we toured local restaurants. She was attentive to every detail—even going so far as to collect our trash so we could enjoy the tour without interruption. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting.

It was a highlight of our trip! Jesus was incredible, very knowledgeable, engaging, and really made our tour special. The food variety was great. We would highly recommend!
Jesus was a fantastic tour guide. He moved at a pace that worked for our family. Two of us had been on this tour so we were not sure if we would be stopping at the same places. We were delighted to see that new locations and tastes had been added.
Pablo was the absolute best. My husband and I had a blast learning about both the history of San Juan and the importance of the foods we were trying. It clear that Pablo absolutely loves what does and that made it even more special and even more fun. We’d definitely do this tour again or any other tour he hosts next time we visit.
Amazing and such a great tour with amazing food and knowledgeable and super friendly tour guide. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting.
Very informative, and got to try a couple pretty authentic things, including creating our own mufongo. Very fun

Pablo was one of the best tour guides we have ever had, and we’ve done numerous tours tours around the world. He was a wealth of knowledge about Puerto Rican history, culture, and just all around information. He was passionate, enthusiastic, and patient. The tour included multiple food samples and allowed us to walk through the streets to see some sites. Pablo shared details of the area, of each dish, and of the cultural significance/history along the way. His humor and wit made the experience even more enjoyable. Excellent tour and phenomenal guide. Nahiomy was great ! She was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Along with the food, she gave us backstories of specific places we visited and it made the food much more special. It seemed very personal since it was just our boyfriend and I which made the food experience a little more better. Our favorite was the ham and cheese croissant with guava butter, we even went back a couple days later to get it again ! So we were really happy she introduced that to us. I’d highly recommend trying this tour, the only thing I’d suggest is to bring comfortable shoes to walk in as you will be walking hilly terrain. Otherwise, if you’re new and want to try authentic food , I’d definitely start here if I were you !

Naomi’s food tour was phenomenal. The walking distance was spot‑on — short, easy stretches with breaks in the shade, so you’re never roasting in the sun. The food portions were perfect for a tasting experience. If you’re expecting a buffet, skip this and head to Burger King or McDonald’s.
This tour is about learning, not overeating — discovering local dishes, hearing the stories behind them, and understanding the culture that shaped Puerto Rican cuisine. Naomi excels at that.
Even when she was delayed a few minutes because of protestors and parking chaos, she messaged ahead of time. Professional. Respectful. On point.
Her passion is obvious. Naomi talks about Puerto Rican food and culture with the pride of someone who truly carries the island in her heart. She’s the kind of guide who elevates the whole experience. Extra points for the mofongo atop.

We wanted to tour Old San Juan and what better way than with food! Andres was knowledgeable about the history of Old San Juan and Puerto Rico. The food was varied and delicious! We started with a brunch of Puerto Rican coffee and a ham-and-cheese croissant with guava butter. After that, we revisited our youth and had passionfruit popsicles. The next stop was appetizers where we had Alcapurria and Ceviche. We loved this restaurant so much that we went back again for dinner later in our trip. The fourth stop was dinner of Mofongo de Pollo and Rice and beans. Not only did we eat dinner, we also were able to make our own mofongo, which definitely added to the adventure. It was here that we also had a delicious pina colada. We ended with the fifith stop for dessert of Budin with ice cream. This stop was on a roof top restaurant overlooking the bay. If you are looking for an Old San Juan tour while experiencing authentic Puerto Rican dishes, this is the tour for you!

What a great tour and a great way to start our trip to PR. Leslie was energetic, organized and informative from the check-in process and throughout the tour. It was a great mix of tastes, each was great. My daughter and I loved each of the stops and ended the tour pretty full while getting a bit of history along the way. Carola was amazing! She has so much knowledge on Puerto Rico! We learned a ton doing this tour with Carola and enjoyed all the traditional foods she introduced us to. The tour was so well organized and Carola didn’t just focus on the restaurant stops, but also the sights in between. Just beautiful.

This was one of the best guided tours I've experienced in my travels abroad. Andrès was not only knowledgeable, but also personable and engaging. His commentary was thoughtful, informative, and easily understood - never overwhelming nor boring. He is an outstanding guide and a great human! I could not imagine a better guide for this particular tour. We would take any tour with him. The scope and sequence of the tour was just right. It offered more than we expected, giving us insight into aspects of Puertorican culture we would never have known or experienced otherwise. This tour was definitely worth every penny.

The entire experience was delightful. Each stop was quite different and it felt like we got a sense of the food culture of San Juan. Jesus was our tour guide and he did an excellent job mixing history into the outing and and was exceptionally engaging and helpful.

This was a wonderful time on the Authentic Flavors of San Juan Food Tour! It was the perfect way to explore Old San Juan while enjoying delicious Puerto Rican food. My group nad I sampled local favorites like mofongo, rice and beans, Caribbean chocolate, Puerto Rican coffee, and a refreshing cocktail. The food was plentiful, so come hungry! Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing interesting stories about Puerto Rico's history, culture, and the Spanish, African, and Indigenous influences on its cuisine. Walking through the colorful cobblestone streets and historic landmarks made the experience even more enjoyable. This tour was one of the best highlights of the trip.
