While other tours can take 7 hours or more due to long lines and big groups of 20–40 people per guide, our small-group adventure (around 10 participants per guide) ensures a more personal, safe, and relaxed experience. You’ll connect directly with your guide, move efficiently through each spot, and make the most of every moment, without the rush or chaos that comes from participating in a large, crowded group. It’s like having a Fast Pass at Disney park! [Step 1]: You can choose between one of our two options: From 7:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm, whichever is more convenient for you. Guests staying closer to El Yunque (Luquillo, Fajardo, Río Grande) have a later pickup time. We’ll confirm your exact pickup time the day before. Feel free to contact us with any questions! [Step 2]: You will be picked up at your preferred hotel, resort, residence, Airbnb or Cruise Port in San Juan, Isla Verde or Condado (Although hotels in Rio Grande or Fajardo may not qualify, we can arrange a convenient meeting point near your accommodation for your ease and comfort). [Step 3]: Your guide will contact you the day before the activity in the evening around 7:30 pm via text message to provide you with your pick-up time and you must sign a digital waiver before starting the tour. [Step 4]: Before your pick up, please be sure to put on your bathing suit, sneakers with good grip and bring your towel and an extra set of clothes with you to dry off and change after your tour. Note: NO Yeezys slides, Crocs, sandals or water shoes allowed (too slippery for this hiking). [Step 5]: Please make sure you are ready to board the vehicle at the pickup time set by your guide. Drivers will wait no longer than 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. Our tour guide will text or call you when arrived at the agreed location. Important: Our activity is designed for people between 10 and 60 years old with excellent physical condition. You have to be able to walk by your own in uneven surfaces. (Keep in mind that disembarking could take around 30 minutes to an hour.) • Once off the cruise ship, we will meet you in front of the 'I LOVE PUERTO RICO' sign at the agreed-upon time. We look forward to making your Rainforest experience memorable!” • If you choose the morning tour, please confirm your cruise departs from Puerto Rico after 1:30 pm to guarantee timely arrival. For the 1:00 pm tour, kindly verify that your cruise departs after 8:00 pm to ensure a smooth arrival.

- IMPORTANT: Our activity is designed for people between (10 and 60 years old) with good physical condition. You have to be able to walk by your own in uneven surfaces. For safety reasons, people who are overweight, have previous injuries, are pregnant, or have health problems are not allowed to participate. Evidence of age via license or birth certificate will be required to ensure compliance with these requirements. Furthermore, no exceptions or refunds will be made to those who fail to comply with these conditions.
- Participants must be physically capable of walking thru steep, rocky, muddy and uneven surfaces without assistance.
- This tour operates based weather and river conditions. In the event of poor weather, you will be offered an option to reschedule or refund.
- Use of lifejacket and helmet is mandatory.
- On Saturdays the hike is around 15 minutes longer since we depart from a different point.
- Tours Hacker reserves the right of admission - If a person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not following instructions, causing disruptions, or providing false information, such as lying about their age, the guide has the right to cancel their reservation at any moment. In such cases, no refunds will be issued. We prioritize the safety and enjoyment of all participants and expect honesty in all aspects of the booking process.
- Persons with the previously listed health restrictions cannot participate on the tour. No refunds will be authorized if a person neglects to read complete description and does not meet the safety requirements and limitations on the day of the tour.
- Personal Belongings Policy for the Rainforest Excursion: At our Rainforest Excursion, the safety and experience of our guests are our top priorities. Due to the nature of the activity, which involves hiking, water contact, and constant movement in a natural environment, we strongly recommend that participants do not bring any personal belongings unless absolutely necessary. While we do allow the use of prescription glasses for those who need them for vision, all other personal items should be left in a secure location before the excursion.
- Liability Waiver: Our company is not responsible for the loss, damage, or misplacement of any personal belongings during the excursion. We understand that the nature of the tour involves activities that may increase the risk of losing items, such as walking on uneven terrain, swimming in the river, sliding on rocks, and jumping into the water. If a participant chooses to bring personal items, they do so at their own risk. We will not be able to stop the excursion to search for lost items in the forest or river. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring that everyone enjoys a worry free experience.

Prepare to be wet the entire time! You don’t need sunblock, bug spray, phones, or drinking water for the hike. Wear clothes that are comfortable when wet or just a bathing suit and you’ll be comfortable. Our tour guide, Michael, was fantastic. He knew so much about the rainforest, he was funny, and super helpful. You do want shoes with good grip, it’s slippery. The water was beautiful. We were a group of 3, parents and 1 sixteen year old. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

It was as challenging as it was fun & exciting. The water slide was so rewarding after working up a sweat to get to that point. Arnel was an awesome guide & very helpful. So glad I did this, if I would have waited a few more years, I would have been over the age limit for this tour. Also, Thank you Arnel for taking so many pix & sending them to us. One of the best excursions if not the best our family has been on. We had a great time hiking and climbing through the rainforest and jumping from the cliffs, rope swings and natural water slides. This was a really fun experience! The hiking was challenging, but not that long, and the payoff was worth it. El Yunque is a good 60.-90 minute drive away, so you’re at the forest for about 1 hour and 1/2 to 2. We all loved it and our guides were great!

This has to be the best tour in my opinion on account for us being the first ones there! We had quiet for the first 30 minutes, unbothered and unrushed for all my questions about plants along the hike, and then the real crowds arrived just as we were leaving. Wouldn't have wanted to be in a later group. Michael was an informative and hilarious guide.

Our guide Eli was very knowledgeable and made the trip so fun and memorable while keeping safety first!! He also took pics and video and we had them before we were back at our hotel. I do not recommend this company. They canceled my tour at 6:20am when I was scheduled to be picked up at 7am. Nothing other than we can’t make the pickup we provided you work anymore.
I have reached out multiple times using multiple mediums and have yet to receive a refund.

Before the tour, welcome messages and reminders were sent through the Viator platform, along with text messages that included your approximate pickup time. After receiving no confirmation, our guide made multiple attempts to contact you on the morning of the tour. During one of those phone calls, you confirmed that you would not be ready for pickup.
Our tours operate on a strict schedule with other guests who are also scheduled for pickup, so it is not possible to delay the entire excursion once the route has begun.
Additionally, your refund request was promptly addressed through the Viator platform, along with all supporting documentation and communication records related to this case.
We always do everything possible to maintain clear communication with our guests and provide a safe, organized, and punctual experience for everyone.

Great experience, the slides, hiking and rope swings were very fun. From a planning perspective, be prepared to leave early. 6:30 or earlier from San Juan. The reward is you will likely get there before the crowds and get to enjoy the beauty. Onyx did a great job communicating.

First off, listen to your guide they know what they are talking about. Michael was our guide and he was kind, patient, professional, knowledgeable and family friendly and trustworthy. Michael started off by picking us up at our selected pick-up point. Then off to the next pick-up point before we headed to El Yunque. The drive is the drive, but when the roads get sketchy, Michael is a pro. We arrived safely, received safety information continuously throughout the journey. Before we left, we were outfitted in life jackets and helmets.
We started the trail learning about the local wildlife. Ask about the plant that closes when you touch it. Awesome. Oh before I get to far into this, it was recommended that you leave everything secured in the vehicle. Michael took all the photos and videos (great quality). Ok back to the adventure. Eventually we made it to the point of putting on the helmets. Please understand when they say you need to be in good health, it’s a work out for the older folks. The younger crowd can dominate this adventure. We had a 6 year old in the group that climbed anything and everything with no worries. Either way we pushed through the slippery surfaces (Listen to your guide), small pathways, and high rock climbing locations. It was worth it. The rock slide is amazing, then off to rock jumps or cliff dives. You also go through a small tunnel.
Lastly you spend your remaining time with all the other groups jumping off cliffs or swinging from the rope swing. My husband did the majority of the jumps and rope swing. It’s an adventure for sure. We left with all smiles as we climbed our way out of the river and water falls. It’s a hike back to the vehicle. We saw a Coqui along the way. Pretty cool. We had the option to change before departing and we were given snacks and water. Water is available though out the adventure. Then we headed back to our drop off points. This is a Highly recommended bucket list check-off. Just do it. We are truly happy we did it and Michael sent us the photos and videos later that day. Thank you Michael for the memories you allowed us to enjoy. A true professional. I Highly recommend this experience.

Highly recommend this tour! My husband and I are in our 40s, moderately active, our 3 teens are active. We all made it through the tour without issue.
The forest is peaceful, beautiful. The water slide, cliff jump, and rope swing are fun and feel safe. If heights is not your thing, there's a medium cliff option that still looks/is thrilling. The water is cool and crisp, a nice break from the heat.
Arnel was our tour guide, very friendly and engaging. He shares neat facts about the forest, is very supportive and helpful on trickier parts of the hike.
Just to be upfront, it was about an hour drive from our pickup spot to the excursion. The van was airconditioned and comfortable. Definitely a must do for the first trip to PR, a strong "would do it again" for subsequent visits.

I had a blast. It was the first time that I have intentionally walked thru the stream, mud etc. I have hiked a fair bit but my first time on a natural waterfall slide, jump and rope swing. For the benefit of future guests reading this review, we would like to clarify that we follow a detailed communication process before every excursion. As soon as a reservation is made, guests receive a welcome message with important information about the experience. If a guest is staying outside of our pickup area, we also provide the nearest meeting point along with clear instructions.
In addition, the assigned guide contacts each participant the day before the tour to confirm all details and provide the approximate pickup time. Guests are expected to be ready when the guide arrives at their pickup location or designated meeting point.
In this particular case, our guide was in direct communication with you throughout the process, and all pickup details were confirmed in advance. When the guide arrived at the agreed meeting point, you were not ready for pickup, a situation that was communicated by you directly to the guide.
Unfortunately, because our tours operate on a strict schedule and transport other participants who were already prepared and waiting, it was not possible to delay the entire excursion. As a company, we have a responsibility to respect the time and experience of all guests participating in the tour.
We always do everything within our power to maintain clear and consistent communication with our guests. However, we must also respect the time and space of the other participants and adhere to established schedules to ensure that the experience remains safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone.

It was such a fun excursion. Half a day with a small group was perfect and the tour took safety seriously with helmets and lifejackets. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour.

This tour was amazing! A bit of a drive to get there but so worth it! They provide transportation to and from which was super helpful. The tour includes hiking and climbing some rocks. Best part was the time in the water with cliff jumps, a rope swing, and sliding down the waterfall! Our guide, Michael was super fun and engaging. He made sure everyone had a good time and pointed out hard to find animals in nature. Definitely recommend if you like adventure and water

I went on this trip to El Yunque National Forest as a solo female traveler, and I had an amazing experience. Michael initially texted me the pickup details since my location wasn’t a standard stop. However, because I was traveling alone, I didn’t feel comfortable being dropped off at a pick up point at 6:30 AM. When I asked if there was a safe place to park my rental car instead, he was very accommodating and arranged a secure location for me.
We stayed in touch about our ETAs, which made everything feel organized and reassuring. The group included three couples, Michael, and myself, and he was very genuine and naturally made me feel included throughout the experience.
When we first arrived, it was completely empty, which made the experience even more special. By the time we were wrapping up, it had gotten much busier, and we saw additional vans arriving as we were leaving, so the timing felt perfect.
I felt completely safe the entire time, which gave me the confidence to try things I normally wouldn’t like both waterslides and even a cliff jump. The safety gear provided made a huge difference, especially compared to other groups we saw who didn’t seem to have much (if any) equipment. Without that level of safety and support, I don’t think I would have participated in those activities.
The drive to and from El Yunque is winding but absolutely beautiful. You also get to see local communities along the way, which adds to the overall experience.
I was the first drop-off and the last pickup, and I was still able to get back to my car before 11 AM. It’s perfect for someone short on time or anyone who still wants to enjoy a full day at the beach or pool afterward.
Overall, I highly recommend this tour especially for solo travelers looking for something adventurous, safe, and well-organized.

It was a perfect blend of a short hike, natural water slide, and rope jumping into a natural pool. Our guide Arnell was very professional and ensured that everyone had the best time while keeping safety and security (of personal belongings) at the top of his priority. Half day tour was perfect for my family. Shoes and socks do get fully wet, but we were able to return to our hotel with towel on our seats, without having to change our clothes.
