My daughter and I did this tour while visiting Roatan on a cruise. Easy to find our tour right outside the port. Our driver Brandon was excellent and gave us lots of information about Roatan during our travels. Our guide Luke at the Hangout was wonderful as well. I highly recommend this tour. We were back at the ship in plenty of time.

Not sure if my first review went through but here i go again. Keisha was great. Booked a beach excursion after going to the Animal Sanctuary but before we got in our boat going to the island, a sudden downpour came out of nowhere and it went on for a while. We decided to not do it and they actually refunded our money even though it was weather related. I feel like they could have kept our money. Thank you!

This was so much fun. There were 13 of us. The bus driver that took us from the port, Brandon, was great. He talked about local culture and even stopped so we can get coffee and chocolate. The guides at the sanctuary were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They took their time and didn't rush us though. One of them even pushed a one of our members in a wheel chair for the entire tour. So much fun to interact with the monkeys. That was the highlight. Would highly recommend!!!

Long walk from ship and needs signage as we had to ask people where to go. Driver was amazing and we learned a lot about the country. Having monkeys walk and jump on us was so much fun. You cannot hold the sloths but you can get very close and take great pictures! The beautiful Macaws were an added bonus! Great event!!

We would give this experience more stars if possible!! We were excited about the sanctuary but had no idea our driver would make such an awesome impression too.
Ms. Rose, our driver, was the first person we met outside of the cruise staff and she greeted us with a smile. We expected to be shuttled in a bus, but it was a pleasant surprise to get to ride in Rose’s cozy, air conditioned car. It was my first time visiting Roatan, so Rose explained the island while in the car. She also patiently waited while we enjoyed the sanctuary. I’d book again just to spend more time with her and learn about the community!
We also loved the sanctuary experience. It was well organized and paced so everyone has plenty of time to interact with the animals. The employees knew everyone wanted pictures, so they provided lots of opportunities and never rushed our group. Everyone got to hold a macaw and several monkeys. The sloths were spread out so there were lots of picture/interaction opportunities.
My son and I went to the sanctuary while my daughter and husband stayed on the ship. They definitely missed out. This has been one of my favorite experiences while cruising!
The sanctuary and Ms. Rose made such a wonderful impression that we definitely plan to come back and will be sure to use this company again!!

We had a lot of fun interacting with the monkeys and macaws and getting up close to the sloths. Our tour guide, Ana, offered a few optional stops for souvenirs or chocolate if we were interested and we were glad to take her up on her offer. It was interesting hearing her talk about her family and their experiences living in Roatan. Definitely recommend as easy excursion for families.

Amazing excursions, our driver Kessie was the best! She told us all about the island and even took us to a great local shopping spot to sample local coffee and chocolate. Perfect for adults and kids of all ages! The Monkey and Sloth park was also great and the Monkeys are very friendly. Highly recommended.

This is a pretty short experience, but some of the most fun that we have had on a cruise. Our guides were fantastic and the facilities were clean and organized.

Very interactive experience. Due to government regulations, you can’t touch or hold the sloths. This was very disappointing as it is a relatively recent law. However, they are in an open air area where you can get really, really close. I had one right by my head. You can take pictures and videos all you want. You can also have a macaw on your arm. The funniest part was the monkeys. You are placed in a large monkey habitat( enclosed) and monkeys jump on your head, shoulders, and arms. They are very cute and very entertaining. You really will not know what they will do ( nothing to harm anyone). The workers encourage them to come to you with bits of apple. There is a lot of laughter with the monkeys. This is suitable for all ages. Be advised that people can’t scream (especially with the monkeys) as it scares the animals. Therefore, consider the age and maturity of your child when booking. Our experience was about an hour long.

Keylie, our driver, was so sweet. This was a private tour in a private car. It was awesome! We had the greatest experience there. We got there early. And we’re the first people there. So there were only four of us. We got to go into the cages and interact one on one with the animals. The sloths you can’t hold, of course, but you can get very close for good pictures. Just not touching them. Great experience. Loved our driver. Thank you so much.

Monkeys were very cheeky & fun. Sloths were sloths sound asleep but low enough in the trees to get some great pictures. David our guide was super friendly and informative. Vehicle was very clean and comfortable. This is a very easy tour for families with younger children but be aware the monkeys do climb and jump on you so if you think you kids might be frightened this might not be your tour. They have a parrot enclosure and they hoped the birds would want to participate but they didn’t we were lucky enough to get the one and only bird/person photos. The boys 10 & 12 really enjoyed the cheeky monkeys

The Slothes and Monkeys were awesome. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. I could have taken all the monkeys home. So much fun and the best experience I’ve ever had. Thank you to all the amazing staff for taking the e to explain everything to us. You are all ROCKSTARS!!! ❤️

Pick up was efficient and on time once we have navigated our way out of the cruiseport terminal. Sanctuary was highly interactive and good fun and well worth the visit although it was nothing like the advertised 3 hours although it could take longer on busy days when Cruise ships are in port at the same time

Kaylee was right on time at the cruise port to escort us to the exhibit. She was so personable and provided much detail about Roatan - which is a beautiful island!
At the excursion, we had wonderful guides who allowed us time to take pictures or video the animals. You could immediately tell how much they loved the animals! The tour did not last too long but in no way did we feel rushed. The drive from the cruise port was approximately 15 minutes each way.

You don't get to home the sloths because of the new laws, but it was still fun aeeing them and letting the monkeys climb all over you.

We had a great time. The sloths and monkeys and macaws are very entertaining, and our guide was great. We chose well! Our guide Ann was very knowledgeable, very friendly, the ride was very comfortable, she was exceptionally accommodating. We highly recommend Ann!!

It's a small sanctuary but you get to spend time with the sloths and monkeys. Plus the birds

Guided tour within enclosures for monkeys and large birds…wear appropriate clothing that isn’t loose fitting and avoid strong perfumes to prevent the animals from reacting. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. The sloths were in an open area and although no touch was allowed you can get so close to them. It was a well kept facility and we enjoyed the experience thoroughly!

Thank you for pointing out the strong perfumes. Also, sunblock and bug repellent should not be used before going into the enclosures. Our guides are always ready to help and to insure you have the best day visiting the sanctuary.

We never got to go. After a long walk to the meeting point we found out that our excursion was canceled and we were never notified. Very disappointing

We’re very sorry your experience never happened. The excursion wasn’t cancelled, the driver waited for you until 12:40pm local time. A hour after your meeting time, perhaps you got to the meeting point shortly after the driver had already left.
For this we are so sorry we know at the port you arrived at is indeed a long walk. If you give us a chance to make it right in the future, please contact us for the same tour fully free for both of you.

Highly recommend booking through this company. Our driver Joe was so lovely and kind. He had so much information about the island. The experience with the animals was fabulous. The monkeys were so much fun and bounced all over our heads and shoulders. While you can’t hold the sloths anymore by law (which we fully support) you can be right next to them and experience something you can’t anywhere else. If you go to Roatan and you like animals, this is a must!

Roatan Ocean Adventures gave helpful information on how to get to the meeting place. The tour was amazing. Getting close to the sloths was an incredible experience. Then the monkeys and birds was a bonus. Take this tour with this company. You won’t be disappointed.
