While visiting Roatan on a cruise, we decided to skip the ship-sponsored excursions and try something different, and I'm so glad we did. Although the area just outside the cruise port was a bit crowded with taxi drivers and tour operators competing for attention, we had no trouble locating our tour guide.
Once everyone gathered, we boarded the van and set off for a wonderful day exploring the island. Our entire group happened to be from the same cruise ship, which made for a fun and friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed not only seeing the sights but also getting to know our fellow passengers and our guides along the way.
Fibi and her driver were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. We appreciated all the information they shared about Roatan's history, culture, and the places we visited. Every stop was well planned, and the local food was delicious.
I think this tour gave us a much more personal and authentic experience than we would have had on a large cruise excursion at a great price. And they were very conscious of the time and getting us back to the ship, so no worries if that's one of your concerns! I highly recommend this tour, especially if you're looking for a smaller, more intimate way to explore Roatan. Thank you, Fibi, for helping make our visit so memorable!

This tour was great and fun. Five stars!
Met our tour guide Jim-L after getting off the ship. Jim-L was energetic and a lifelong Honduran who shared a lot of information as we traveled to a chocolate tour where we sampled some homemade chocolate.
Next, we drove to Manawakie Park (Monkey and Sloth sanctuary). We entered an enclosure where a monkey playfully hopped around and on us as the Park guide left sunflower seeds in our open hands. Also visited the sloth enclosure. Great photos.
We had a brief stop at a Rum distillery and sampled Island Eddy’s unique rum blends/flavors and we soon traveled to West Bay beach where we were able to swim and purchase drinks and lunch.
Our last stop was at the colorful Roatan sign to take photos in front of it.
The tour was well designed and paced comfortably.
Note: bring bug repellent for the monkey sanctuary as there are mosquitos in the park, and also wear a dark shirt as the “hopping” monkeys have dirt on their feet leaving footprints on your shirt.

We were greeted by one of the most sweetest people I think I’ve ever met Cesia she was our tour guide while Otto was our driver! What a complete blast we had with them! I think we had more laughs and fun with them than we did didn’t really doing the excursion with all of the other things going on but the monkey that was amazing! The sloth that was funny, his name is “Flash!” The chocolate is devine, absolutely devine, however very expensive! It is neat, knowing that the handmade all of the items there instead of coming from China. We loved having the choice of going to the resort area and eating there or eating somewhere along the route and we all as a group chose to eat along the route and that was the best! If you go, you must ask for Cesia & Otto!!! Tell Otto to drive faster!! Hemade that drive so fun!!!

Cesia was an amazing guide and gave all of her passengers the care and attention of a 5 star service. She was knowledgeable and answered any question we could throw at her. She’s an amazing human being and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

My family had a great time with Jiml. He was knowledgeable about the area, friendly and kept us on ships time! I would prefer not doing the chocolate tasting to have more beach time. It's really just a small chocolate store, but otherwise a good experience. I recommend.

Our tour guide was great! All of the experiences were great as well. He and my boyfriend at the time were working so hard to find the perfect place to propose. 6 days later, we are currently engaged. Everything was wonderful!
Elizabeth_G, Aug 2026
As first time visitors in Roatan, we were extremely fortunate to have booked this tour. Our driver/guide Cesia was awful, genuinely considerate and just fantastic with thorough explanations and making sure everyone was having a great time. A must do.
Julie_W, Aug 2026
The whole experience was amazing! The monkeys were such fun! The chocolate and rum tastings were great and the time at the beach was relaxing. The absolutely best part was our guide, Julie! She even took the time to take my daughter on a short walking side quest at the beach. It was all lovely.
Jimmy_A, Aug 2026
Travelled with family and even with a rough start, weather didn’t behave in the morning, we were still able to enjoy a full days worth of visiting all sites and stops!
Annietra_U, Aug 2026
Phoebe was a wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and kind. She shared in-depth about the rich culture and real life of Roatan. The monkey and sloth sanctuary was so fun. We got to stop at local shops for rum, chocolate, and souvenirs. We also got to stop at an amazing local restaurant. Wish we had more time at the beach, but our cruise line just didn’t allow enough time. Would definitely book again.

Alanys and the driver provided an incredible, informative and enjoyable tour for the entire family.
Thank you. We really recommend this tour.

Jamal was an excellent guide! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the best time, and felt very safe and comfortable. The monkeys, parrots, and sloth were so awesome to interact with. Make sure you have your camera ready! You have to try the frozen, chocolate, dipped pineapple at the chocolate stop. It’s a must! The beach was true paradise! My teens and I had an excellent day in Roatan!
Mary_R, Jul 2026
Alanys and her husband were amazing! Alanys was a great tour guide giving so much information about the island of Roatan. They were super easy to locate when we got outside of the cruise pier. Step by step instructions were given and they were on point! we had so much fun with the monkeys and sloth. The rum tasting was great as well! Unfortunately, the day we went was raining and we were not able to go to the beach, but when it cleared up they brought us to the most beautiful location to see they coral and also went to a local establishment for some delicious local cuisine. Highly recommend!!!

The tour was well organised, from the moment we saw the team with the sign everything was smooth. The care shown to their passengers included a safe, less busy area to stand, stopping cars with ease so we could cross the road carefully and talking us through each step so we had no questions to ask.
Alanis was not your typical tour guide, it was like an old friend was showing you around. She is so warm and smiley and our whole family enjoyed the experience she gave.
Everything she does throughout the tour is to ensure each family ticks their bucket list while keeping a timely schedule and removing any stress about being late back to the ship. I would 100% recommend you ask for her and you will not be disappointed. Also her bond with our driver Mr Mario was very sweet to see, its clear this is a company that focuses on positive staff relationships as a foundation.

The MONKEYS ARE THE BEST!! It was a great tour we took off a cruise ship. The tour guide was informative and personable. We were very glad we booked this tour.
Clarissa_M, Jul 2026
We had an amazing experience! This was our first time booking an excursion outside of the cruise line, and we were a little nervous, but everything was incredibly easy from start to finish.
Our tour guide, Alanys, was absolutely wonderful. She made us feel like family from the moment we met her. She was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and made sure everyone was having a great time throughout the day. Most importantly, she made sure we got back to the cruise port with plenty of time before our ship departed, which gave us complete peace of mind.
We did the sloth and monkey excursion, visited the chocolate factory, and enjoyed some relaxing beach time. Every stop was well planned and so much fun. Seeing and interacting with the sloths and monkeys was definitely a highlight of our trip!
If you’re considering booking an excursion outside of your cruise line, don’t hesitate. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend asking for Alanys if you can. She truly made our day unforgettable!
Misti_L, Jul 2026
Alanys was phenomenal!!! And so was the driver! 😉 We visited the monkeys/sloth, tried the chocolate and coffee, then enjoyed rum and the ocean view! We had rainy weather, so as a group, we opted not to go to the beach. She helped us figure out some other plans, so we ate it a great restaurant and stopped at the driver's favorite viewing area. I felt like we learned so much about their culture, island, and daily life. I would recommend her to anyone! We had a fabulous time and would do it all over again! 5⭐
Also, thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Sissy prior to the excursion!
Katherine_D, Jul 2026
We had a wonderful experience with Jemell during our day in roatan. Highlights were definitely the time with monkeys as well as the beautiful pristine beach. Thanks for showing us around your beautiful island!
Queila_F, Jul 2026
We booked the monkey, sloth, and beach excursion in Roatan and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide was amazing – she gave so much attention to our kids, making sure everyone felt included and had a great time. The animals were well cared for and we loved getting up close with the monkeys and sloths. The beach stop was the perfect way to end the day. Highly recommend this excursion for families!

Our experience was awesome…Our Tour Guide was outstanding…His name was Jamal, I believe…He was so kind and patient with my mother during the entire tour…She wants to take him back to Texas…His knowledge of the tour was impeccable…

interesting tour of the island, tour guide Julie was excellent. the animal encounter was very crowded
Tracey_N, Jul 2026
It was the perfect excursion to get a sample of the island of Roatan. Our tour guide, Phoebe was great and very engaging! Great value, great trip!
Lucretisha_C, Jul 2026
It was an amazing family experience. I would recommend any one to do a tour with them. Jose and Phoebe.
JEREMY_H, Jul 2026
Beach area was super crowded. If you wanted a chair…you had to rent one…chocolate and rum cake experiences were stores….no factory to see how it was made.
Beach area at Princess cruise terminal was much nicer than the one on the tour. Also chocolate and rum cakes were also available there at cruise terminal as well. Wish we would have saved the money and stayed at the cruise port.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re sorry to hear that the tour didn’t fully meet your expectations. The beach we visit is West Bay Beach, widely considered the best beach in Roatán, with crystal-clear turquoise water, white sand, and a completely natural setting. Because it is the island’s most popular beach, it can be busy, especially on cruise ship days.
While beach chairs are available as an optional rental through the beach clubs, there are always free areas where guests can relax in the shade under the palm trees or enjoy the beach without renting a chair.
Regarding the chocolate and rum cake stops, these are tasting experiences at local stores featuring locally made products rather than factory tours. Our goal is to introduce visitors to some of Roatán’s most popular local specialties.
We understand that every traveler has different preferences. Thank you for your feedback, and we wish you all the best on your future travels.

We had an excellent experience with our guide, Mairy, in Roatán! She did a fantastic job showing us around the island and made sure our entire family had a wonderful time. She was especially helpful while we were visiting the animals, even keeping an eye on our belongings so we could fully enjoy the experience without worrying. The only thing to note is that the pickup point is outside the cruise port, so be prepared for a bit of a walk. Other than that, everything was smooth, and Mairy was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the day. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Roatán!

Oscar was great!!!!!!! We were late and he stayed behind and still gave us a great tour!!! Best experience.
Pamela_C, Jul 2026
There were 3 other cruise ships on the island (plus our cruise ship), so the island was VERY BUSY. The monkey, sloth and macaw santuary was crowded but we still had time to see the sloth and monkeys. The stop at the chocolate tasting was pretty much walking around the gift shop, not really a tour. BUT- the chocolate covered pineapple and mint ice cream bar were very yummy. Rum tasting (try the tropical mango!) and rum cakes were good as well. We were informed there were different beach options - ones where you pay $20, $15, or free. Our group of 7 chose free :) For the free access, there were local vendors trying to see things, but they were friendly. We were only there for 2 hours so it wasnt a big deal. Some lounge chairs were available for $15 all day use. The water was clear and perfect ; all sand and no rocks.

Our guide Alanys was amazing. So much fun and she was very friendly and accommodating and knowledgeable.

We had an amazing excursion in Honduras thanks to Nahum! He was an outstanding driver and guide who made our day unforgettable. He took us to see monkeys and sloths, a scenic island tour, a delicious chocolate tour, and even gave us time to relax at a beautiful beach.
Nahum was incredibly kind, made sure we had plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy each location, and even took photos for our family. He even stopped off the road to pick us the freshest mangos! They were delicious! Most importantly, he got us safely back to the cruise port with plenty of time to spare.
If you’re looking for a fun, stress-free, and memorable excursion in Honduras, I highly recommend Nahum!

The experience with the monkeys and the sloths was SOOO much fun. Our guide was wonderful with the animals.
I was not a fan of the chocolate and rum tasting, but that is just personal preferences. I left the tasting and went outside and some ladies asked me if I wanted a massage. I told them no. One of the ladies proceeded to massage my neck while I was standing there. I thought she was just trying to convince me to get a massage. She kept on and put some greasy stuff on me and kept massaging. I finally realized she was expecting money. I asked her what it was going to cost me, and she said $60. What???? I told her I did not want the massage. Be careful-they do not give up. They also did the same thing to my brother in law and sister. If I am going to pay $60 for a massage, it is going to be my choice and not in the middle of the sidewalk standing up.
Our last stop was the Paradise Beach. The beach was good, but we got cheated big time on our food. On the menu it was $10 for a margarita, $17 dollars for a bucket of beer, and $25 for a large pizza. We asked for water. They brought us our food, drinks, and 4 water bottles. Our total for this was $113. According to my math it should have been 80 for the food and drinks, and I am not sure how much the water was. We were expecting a cup of water not to pay $18.50 for 4 bottles of water. They charged us three different gratuities. So another $23. We won't be eating there next time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your honest feedback.
We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed meeting the monkeys and sloths and that your guide made that part of the tour so memorable.
We are truly sorry to hear about your experience with the massage vendors. While they are not affiliated with our company, we understand how uncomfortable that situation must have been. We will make sure to remind our guides to better inform guests about these vendors and to help prevent situations like this in the future.
We’re also sorry about what happened at the beach restaurant. The restaurant operates independently from our tour company, so we do not control their pricing or billing. However, we take comments like yours seriously and will share your feedback with their management, as transparency in pricing is very important.
We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve the overall experience for our guests, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Roatan and provide an even better experience in the future.
