Our driver Joel was top notch! We told him what was important to us for our excursion and he was happy to oblige. We saw sloths and monkeys, had a rum tasting and chocolate tasting and explored Roatan. Highly recommend Joel. 10 out of 10!!!
Wonderful tour of the island with Dolfus! He was very flexible and took us all over the island to places we told him we wanted to go, as well as others we would not have known to ask about. We had a great time and will ask for him on our next trip.
Dolphus’s tour was the highlight of our cruise! He was so informative and friendly. It was really interesting getting a view of the island, including where the locals live. He took us to the Mayan Eden animal sanctuary which was a great experience as well, and also to the chocolate factory and rum tasting place. He also made a great recommendation on where to have lunch. Definitely recommend this tour, my husband and I had the best time!
Amazing experience with our driver Dolphus who drove us to the mangroves and to many other beautiful spots around the island!
Dauphas was the best. He we waiting for us when we got off the ship at Isla Tropical. He took us to see sloths and capuchins at AJ's, he took us to go on a tour of the mangrove tunnels, and took us to a local spot for lunch. Dauphus was explaining everything about the island to us between locations and even stopped to get us some cassava bread.
It was so nice to get out of "Cruise world" and into the real world with a local who could support our day's adventure. Michael picked up immediately on the types of experiences we wanted to have with our day for our family and young kids. He provided exceptional suggestions, and helped make it all work together seamlessly. We also learned a lot about life on Roatan.
Outstanding! Orrie will take you everywhere and save you money in doing so! We went to the sloth/monkey zoo ($15 pp) the cacao souvenir market place, both rum outlets, and spent the afternoon at the clean, rock free West Bay playa ($30 pp) where they served delicious and reasonably priced conch salad, fresh caribbean lobster!, and banging margaritas!
Orie was amazing! I’m so glad I booked this tour! He customize the trip exactly what we were looking for, and he was so knowledgeable about the island and its history! Orie is the best!
I like that it qas customizable and private and intimate. The driver was very accommodating ans knowledgeable.
Best experience I’ve had traveling. Joel was great local. He translated and talked to the locals in their native language and the other locals in Spanish. Saved more money then what the taxi service cost by getting his price and not ripped of by knowing we’re tourists. Just tell him what you wanna do and he will get you there. Ask for the local experience. We went on a boat tour with another local and he road with us. Definitely recommend. Got to experience all of the island in 8 hours.
Our guide- Dolfus was extremely pleasing and customized our experience to our needs and the time we had available. The communication through the App was very efficient for us to be able to coordinate everything for our day visit in Roatan. We will use it again for sure and Roatan Adventure Tours were very responsive. Thanks!
Joel at Best of Roatan Island Tour is awesome. He gave us the best excursion we have ever had on any island. Truly a 10 out of 10 experience. Meet us properly after our arrival. We chose to take a private boat ride touring the mangrove and visited a marine rescue. Took a nice tour of the island in an extremely clean van. We visited sloths and monkeys. Went to both rum and chocolate factories. Had an amazing time as it exceeded all of our expectations.
Wonderful experience in Roatan! Joel is an excellent guide, friendly, very well informed, charismatic. We when to the Mangrove tour with him and we enjoyed this beautiful place, the tarpons, the turtles, the ocean!
Be prepared for surprises. Our original driver did not show up. So we were an hour late , things started. Even though our substitute driver was very nice and knew her way around, she handed the tour three hours early.
Experience was ok- nothing special- we went t where we wanted to but when it was time to eat lunch he took us to a spot close to the cruise ship where he got free food- food was gross and the service wasn’t good- I never got my food after waiting for 50 min while the rest of my family all got their meals- long story but I would still recommend the tour just pick out your own place to eat before you get here so you can pick something good- tour says 9 hours and he took us back after 5 1/2 hours
I booked this as an alternative to some of the cruise excursions. I wanted to flexibility to do activities around the island but leave when my kids had enough. Joel was our driver/guide and he was great. Super friendly, native to the area and knowledgeable about the island. I think he sold my kids on moving to Roaton when they heard from him how the school schedule works (7-12,12-4 or 4-8 families choose the time!).
We went to AJs monkey and sloth experience. They were busy and we had to wait about 30 mins but was so worth it if you have animal lovers in your family. My kids could have stayed there all day. We then went to the iguana park which was very cool and I never knew you could interact with them the way we did.
We stopped at the chocolate factory. It’s really just sampling some chocolates so not a big deal if you miss it. It was hot and my kids were done at that point but we had a great and memorable day and were happy to have Joel as our guide!
We were looking forward to experiencing the island. Our tour guide vehicle was older missing a door handle and not great ac. We may not have specific enough but got the feeling that our driver only wanted to tour certain areas. It was fine but probably go a different route next time

Hi good night were so sorry about the door handle that was broke days before your tour and we have to wait for it to come from the states we will find out with the driver what happen about the tour that day
Today was our second trip to Roatan and last time we did a group excursion through the cruise line and…..it was….ok. BUT, TODAY was an awesome day with Courtney as our driver. She asked us what we wanted to do, which was the mangroves, animals, and eat good, and she started making calls immediately as we walked to the car. The mangroves were amazing and the water was a turquoise so clear, I have never seen anything like it. After we visited the animals we had a great lunch with an amazing view. We tried iguana and ox tail and some yellow chili sauce, all delicious. Wonderful experience thanks to Courtney and her team at Roatan Adventure Tours.
Highly recommend! Our guide, Michael was wonderful. We wanted to visit the mangroves. He was able to get us an amazing boat tour and then recommended a wonderful local restaurant with hammocks on the deck! if you want to get away from some of the usual tourist spots, this is definitely a must do! Can't say enough good things about Michael and the tour!!!

Our driver, Michael is a native Roatan and he was able to take us to the locations that catered to much smaller groups. He listened to what we were interested in doing along with taking us to a restaurant that was simply unbelievable with access to beautiful water, clean bathrooms, and clean facilities all the best food around
We spent the day with tour guide Tracy and he rocked it! Very friendly, super accommodating and knowledgeable about the island he loves. I would highly recommend asking for Tracy.
We had an amazing day in Roatán thanks to our guide, Dolphus Stanley, a Roatán native who loved to talk and tell stories just like us Cajuns from Louisiana. We connected immediately over music, family, hurricanes, island life, and local culture. He taught us so much about the island’s history, schools, tourism, and traditions, which made the experience feel authentic and personal instead of just another tour.
He also gave us great practical advice throughout the day, including stopping early for family pictures at the big Roatán sign before the crowds arrived and helping us get perfect beach chairs at the Thirsty Turtle on Bananarama Beach. We felt safe, relaxed, and well taken care of the entire time, and the conversations and stories made this one of our favorite cruise excursions ever.
I didn't go on this tour due to wrong pricing for another tour in another city ama when speaking with customer service to explain the issue i didn't get it resolved and would like a refund for being charged 2 times for one trip.

Our tour guide, Orey, was attentive to our needs, provided our family with many fun and varied activities throughout our tour of Roatan, and he did so without being pushy about certain destinations ...he gave us options and let us pick our choices. We had a great time. Roatan Adventure Tours has an exceptional employee! Based upon our experience, I will be recommending Viator.

Perfect way to explore Roatan. Our driver was very friendly. We just told him all the places we wanted to see and he got us there. When we wanted to spend extra time somewhere he was very flexible with that too. Would definitely book this again if ever in Roatan again.
The different names of this company is very confusing! After walking a great distance from the berth Norwegian escape was in, we had to contend with all the other private companies and their passengers with only a sidewalk between us and all the traffic. Many of the companies had similar names

My family had the best time today. Very informative and patient tour guide. Will def book again when we return to Honduras.
My husband and i traveled with another couple. This excursion is completely customizable. We felt safe the entire time. Garfield was our guide and he was the best. We wanted to see more of the island than what we had seen on cruise company excursions. Highly recommend and will repeat when we come back
