Port of Mahogany Bay (Carnival Cruise Port) As soon as you get off of the cruise ship you must walk about 1/4 mile, we apologize in advance for the distance. Due to company policy, the port does not allow independent tour operators to enter the cruise port. You will pass a two-story red roofed building. You must walk through the plaza where you will see many stores. Then you will go down the covered gangway. Take a left onto the paved road near the security gate. You will have to walk about 250 yards up a small hill. There you will see your driver holding a Roatan Ocean Adventures Sign (ROA). Port of Roatan Town center (Royal Caribbean / Norwegian) We will be waiting for you when you arrive to the cruise port at Coxen Hole. As soon as you get off of the cruise ship, please walk out to the main road. You can follow the town exit signs to gate #1. Across the street, you will see your driver holding a Roatan Ocean Adventures Sign (ROA). NOTE: Pick up is 30 minutes to an hour after the cruise ship arrives at the port, thank you. Don't rush yourselves, we will be waiting for you, we understand that it takes time for you to get off of the ship.

Our snorkeling adventure was the very best we’ve ever had! The dive site was absolutely beautiful, and there were soooo many incredible fish and coral to see! Our guide knew the perfect spot to see the most wildlife, and he knew the name of every fish that we saw. He was patient, extremely knowledgeable, and made us feel like family! The snorkeling was definitely the highlight of our trip! And Norma was simply INCREDIBLE! She became indispensable to us and became our guide for the weekend! Everything we wanted to see and do, she assured that we had the most incredible time! It was our first time in Roatan, and we would not have had such a beautiful time if not for Norma! She was so sweet! She took us to Punta Gorda, mangroves, etc. and she knew absolutely everyone on the island! We are absolutely family now, and we will be back for sure!

This activity was very interactive and fun for all ages. The staff was very friendly. I always felt safe. Also, very educational.
We were so very well taken care of from beginning to end. Our driver made it clear we were at his beck and call and the snorkeling operators (Roaton Outdoor Adventures) were also very professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. Loved every minute!
Best experience ever. Everyone was friendly and loved their job. Our tour guide on the monkey tour was especially awesome. He took grest care of us. The snorkeling was amazing as well. The views are spectacular.
The monkey and sloth sanctuary was amazing. It was so much fun to have monkeys loose and on us. I didn’t snorkel but my husband said it was great. All the people involved were excellent and very friendly.
We had such a great time. My son really loved the Monkeys and sloths and my husband the snorkeling. The amount of time was perfect. The guide was good and informative about local history. On the snorkeling part the guide gave me his personal face mask because mine was leaking. That made my experience more enjoyable.
My teenage daughter and I had a wonderful experience on the Monkey, Sloth, and Drift Snorkel Tour in Roatán! It was just the two of us, and we felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the entire excursion.
Meeting our guide just outside the cruise port was easy, and we had our own private driver. He was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our guide at the monkey and sloth sanctuary was amazing—welcoming, informative, and patient. He answered all our questions and made sure we each had plenty of time interacting with the animals.
Our snorkeling guide was also wonderful. He explained everything clearly and helped ease any anxiety we had about snorkeling in the ocean, making us feel safe and confident.
The entire experience was well organized, personal, and enjoyable from beginning to end. My daughter and I made incredible memories, and I would absolutely recommend this tour—especially to mothers traveling alone with their children or teenagers!
Soooooo much fun! Especially with the monkeys!! Everyone who works for ROA was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and kind. I wish I would’ve brought more money to tip everyone.
Our driver Norma was amazing !!! The 2 guys that led the snorkeling did an awesome job and showed us so many different sea fish and creatures. Coming back in November and definitely are doing again.

Roatan Ocean Adventures is an amazing local company. Communication was great, everyone was so friendly, and we had such a great day in Roatan. There are no words for how incredible the snorkeling was, and I've snorkeled a lot! It's open water, so if you're not a strong swimmer, ask for the life jacket and noodle!!
We were picked up by our driver, Norma, who was local to the area and pointed out a lot of interesting things on our way. We traveled about 25 minutes in a newer Toyota minivan, which was much nicer than I had anticipated. The day started with the monkey and sloth sanctuary. The staff was very informative and knowledgeable, and our daughters (11 & 14) loved it, especially the monkeys. There were several food stands at the sanctuary, and we had probably the best smoothie we've ever had. We then traveled about 20 minutes with our same driver and van for snorkeling. The snorkeling equipment was all in good condition, and they had all of the different sizes that we needed from child to larger adult. It took 15-20 minutes in the boat to make it to the reef, which was a beautiful ride. Both our snorkeling guide and boat captain were very kind and interacted well with the adults as well as the kids on board. The snorkeling experience was absolutely beautiful. We were dropped by the boat, and basically drifted with the current for over an hour. It was great because we were able to see different areas, without the need to swim around if we didn't feel like it. The boat remained nearby in case anyone wanted a break or drink, etc. My whole family loved the snorkeling, and it was the favorite part of our 7 day cruise for my older daughter. Overall I would definitely recommend this trip. And we were back our port with plenty of time to spare.
This excursion is excellent. Monkeys and sloth experience was fun and the snorkeling was beautiful. We were on a cruise and booked this excursion which was less expensive and a better option than the excursion offerings on the ship. We were picked up from the ship dock making the transportation easy. Highly recommend this activity!

I am writing this review as soon as I got back to the ship so I can remember everyone’s name because they were so good.
First, off the boat was easy, ROA made it easy even though there were dozens of other groups waiting. They were very professional. Our driver, Norma was amazing. She gave us some information about history and local culture and took us to a great lunch spot and local market for chocolate and coffee.
Daniel Johnson’s Sloth and Monkey sanctuary was fun. Robert was our guide there and made it fun and interactive. A great stop and totally worth it.
Erickson and Garrett took us out on the water for snorkeling. Erickson was with us in the water and kept us safe and showed us some different things. The guys put us in the water a little ways from other groups so we didn’t feel crowded and it felt like a private tour. I know they can’t control the current or weather but it was great.
After our couple of local stops Martha had us back to the port with more than enough time to get back to our cruise. She knew when we had to be back and made sure we’re on time.
The whole ROA team was great and I would highly recommend them. They made our single day on Roatan so good, my kids are already asking to come for a full on vacation here.
So many excursions to choose from, and I was truly overwhelmed with the decision. I am THRILLED that I chose this excursion with ROA. Brandon was our dedicated guide along with countless others who pitched in here and there to make this a perfect day in Roatan. We spent the morning with THE Daniel Johnson as we learned about the love that he and his people pour into the animals they care for. Then, the afternoon snorkeling in a breathtaking coral reef and later a stop at a cool container venue to sample chocolate, coffee and honey and had the opportunity to grab a few souvenirs on the way back to the ship. Arrived “home” exhausted from a great day and with plenty of time to spare. The price was right, and I truly cannot say enough about Brandon, who shared so much information with us about his incredible island home!
Fun experience for the family. Easy for a cruise stop day trip, really enjoyed the sanctuary and the snorkeling.
I cannot praise this tour enough. Herbert is an expert leader. He realized there was a large group going with just the 2 of us so he arranged for Kaylie to take us on our own. She could not have been nicer and more informative and professional. All in all just a great day! Highly recommend!
This was our favorite excursion during our trip! :) We have a seven year old and four year old twins. We each had a monkey on us at some point, got a picture with the sloths, and were landed on by the parrots! :D During the snorkeling piece, the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. He made sure everyone was included, even the kiddos. He pointed out colorful fish, a barracuda, brought up a beautiful conch shell (that he then returned where he found it). When we hit some unexpected jellies, he was able to pivot and bring us to another location. All around an amazing trip!
So much fun! The monkeys are all over you and are so cute! You cant hold the sloths anymore, but still can get close! We loved it.

We had a great time - professional employees, clean, well-maintained vehicle, excellent experience with the sloths/monkeys and snorkeling. The snorkeling here is beautiful... we had to slightly alter our snorkeling route due to jellyfish and our tour guide was very reassuring and helped us recognize a variety of fish. No issue returning to port timely. I could not be happier, considering I was blindly trusting this company to keep me safe in a new country, and they definitely did a great job of showing us around!
We had such an amazing time in Roatan!! I was hesitant to book outside of the cruise line but wow, I am so glad I did it. Brandon was a fabulous tour guide and taught us so much about the island. The monkeys, sloths, and macaws were so fun! Our whole group got great pictures. Snorkeling on the reef was truly a highlight of the trip and our lives! Our guide took us far into the water and pointed out so many things. We saw rays, eels, tons of beautiful fish, and lobsters, among others!! It was incredible and I cannot recommend it enough.
We had Jenny for our tour guide and driver and she was absolutely wonderful! Thank you Jenny for all of your help and being so kind to me (Adeline) and my daughter Brooklyn. If there is a way to give her a tip since I didn’t have any cash please let me know. She most definitely deserves it. We went to see the monkeys and sloths first then headed to the beach for a bit then went scuba diving. Everything was absolutely wonderful.
Service was great and our hosts were nice. The day we went the waves were high and they drop off you off in the ocean about 30 feet deep in spots and come back 30-45 minutes later. Make sure you are strong swimmers. The wait for the boat was also pretty long.
This was the first time I used Viator for an excursion during a cruise port stop. It was very easy. We found the tour operator, Roatan Ocean Adventures (ROA), right away. Our driver, Keylie, was super nice and informative. Our first stop, the Monkey/Sloth tour, was an awesome experience! A monkey climbed on us, but we were not allowed to touch the sloths. The next stop was snorkeling. We snorkeled at 2 nice locations with beautiful crystal-clear blue water. There were a lot of colorful fish and even a stingray, however, sadly, the reefs did seem to have coral bleaching. Keylie waited for us at each stop and took us back to the port. We were fortunate to have her as our driver since she added pleasure to our experience.
Our driver, Norma, provided great service, giving us lots of info about the local area. Had a lot of fun at the monkey and sloth sanctuary where Isaac was our guide, then made it to snorkeling where my partner and I had a blast. Saw so many fish and beautiful reefs, though our swim was cut short by turbulent weather. 10/10 would recommend
Hands down one of the best excursions we have ever booked! Our driver Anne was beyond amazing and gave us a unique insight into the island! The sloths and monkeys were the highlight of our trip and my husband and I were the only 2 on our tour! We saw so much life while snorkeling and the reef was breathtaking! There were so many sweet cats and a dog to sit and visit with while we were waiting on another couple to join us for our snorkeling adventure. Then Anne took us to a local restaurant for lunch before we had to head back. Everyone we encountered has beyond friendly and caring. You did't just feel like a tourist being pushed along. We will always book with them in the future whenever we are back in Roatan!
It was the best tour we had on our trip. Our driver was so knowledgeable about the country and places that we traveled past on our way to see the monkeys, parrots and sloths. Everything was timely and so much fun. Seeing a parrot sitting on my husbands head was priceless. The snorkeling was superb. We have snorkeled several times in different locations. This was even better than Maui. We drifted with the current which made it even better than trying to swim to see all the sea life including a big turtle. The guides were also so helpful with our 5 year old grandson. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks to the wonderful friendly people who guide this tour.
We had a lot of fun! Jenny was our private driver for the morning. She took us to the sloth/monkey sanctuary where we took a tour with a group. The guides were very knowledgable and getting up close with the animals was fun. The snorkeling was also fun and well organized. The only drawback was I tried to reach out to the company to confirm the start time of the tour and didn't hear back but we were able to find the guide with the sign pretty easily.
Amazing team - so much fun. Would definitely return to Roatan and book more adventures with these guides.
These 2 activities were awesome. Both very accommodating facilities, staff, knowledgeable, entertaining and interactive. A must try for first time visitors for sure! I'd do it again when I visit back. Thanks to the staffing and coordination by Viator
