Port of Mahogany Bay (Carnival Cruise Port) As soon as you get off of the cruise ship you must walk about 1/4 mile, we apologize in advance for the distance. Due to company policy, the port does not allow independent tour operators to enter the cruise port. You will pass a two-story red roofed building. You must walk through the plaza where you will see many stores. Then you will go down the covered gangway. Take a left onto the paved road near the security gate. You will have to walk about 250 yards up a small hill. There you will see your driver holding a Roatan Ocean Adventures Sign (ROA). Port of Roatan Town center (Royal Caribbean / Norwegian) We will be waiting for you when you arrive to the cruise port at Coxen Hole. As soon as you get off of the cruise ship, please walk out to the main road. You can follow the town exit signs to gate #1. Across the street, you will see your driver holding a Roatan Ocean Adventures Sign (ROA). NOTE: Pick up is 30 minutes to an hour after the cruise ship arrives at the port, thank you. Don't rush yourselves, we will be waiting for you, we understand that it takes time for you to get off of the ship.

Our snorkeling adventure was the very best we’ve ever had! The dive site was absolutely beautiful, and there were soooo many incredible fish and coral to see! Our guide knew the perfect spot to see the most wildlife, and he knew the name of every fish that we saw. He was patient, extremely knowledgeable, and made us feel like family! The snorkeling was definitely the highlight of our trip! And Norma was simply INCREDIBLE! She became indispensable to us and became our guide for the weekend! Everything we wanted to see and do, she assured that we had the most incredible time! It was our first time in Roatan, and we would not have had such a beautiful time if not for Norma! She was so sweet! She took us to Punta Gorda, mangroves, etc. and she knew absolutely everyone on the island! We are absolutely family now, and we will be back for sure!

These 2 activities were awesome. Both very accommodating facilities, staff, knowledgeable, entertaining and interactive. A must try for first time visitors for sure! I'd do it again when I visit back. Thanks to the staffing and coordination by Viator

Our driver David was awesome! He answered all the questions we had and was a good safe driver. We went to the sloth, monkey and Macaw place and it was great. Saw the sloths and got to have the monkeys and macaws land on us. After we drove to the dock to get ready for snorkeling. It was only the 6 of us so it was a nice private experience. We followed the tour guide through the water and he was knowledgeable about all the fish. Was such a great snorkel experience. Then David brought us to a chocolate and coffee place so we could get some to bring home. Overall was a great experience in Roatan! Thank you ROA.

Wow! This was one of the highlights of our cruise, during our stop in Roatan. The excursion was fantastic from our driver, to the animal sanctuary, and the snorkeling. Our driver also offered to stop at a local market on our way back to Port to do more of a local shopping experience.
It was quite chaotic outside the cruise port so it took us sometime to find our guide but once we found them, the process was seamless. Have the tour operator company name handy and there were lots of locals to help find the correct tour operator. I would absolutely do this excursion again and bring my kids along.

Getting off the boat/out of the port was the most stressful part of the day! Once we found the crew from ROA there was no stress. Our driver was a font of knowledge and so friendly. Our weather wasn’t great for the snorkel so Hector told us we were going to have to do a shallow snorkel, when I mentioned that we were strong swimmers and would prefer deep if possible, he agreed to try as long as it was safe. We ended up getting a private snorkel at their 2nd favorite spot (not shallow) which was awesome.
The beach time was at big key and it was fine, although very touristy. We preferred the rest of the trip, but did chill in the hammocks for awhile.
The sloth and monkey farm was so fun. We went early - so the animals were very frisky.
My teens wanted to check out a Honduran grocery store, so Ann brought us to where she usually shopped. My youngest wanted to collect currency where we travelled, and she gave him a few bills!
All in all I couldn’t recommend this tour/experience enough. Just make sure you save/pull up your actual receipt so you know where you’re going getting off the ship. Everyone is very helpful but it was chaos. Know that you’re booking with ROA so people can point you in the right direction.

This was a wonderful time! From the driver to seeing sloths and having monkeys monkeying around you. So many laughs to be had. The snorkelling was absolutely stunning.

We were surprised that an older couple in their 70s joined the group with difficulty getting into the van from the cruise ship. However, the guides help them through the visit to the sloths/monkeys and then to get in the boat, into the water, out of the boat and back into the van. At first, I didn't think it was wise for an older couple to come on a snorkeling trip. Afterwards, I was really happy they were able to have that experience, because the snorkeling was great!

This is an excursion you don't want to miss. From Mahogany Bay Cruise Port, you walk a steep hill ( taxi available). We were brought to a van, there was only one other couple, then takem to the monkey/sloth sanctuary. It was great, we had monkeys on our heads, laps, they were so friendly. You're right next to quite a few sloths, great photo opportunities. Then it is off to snorkel. Again, only 4 people for excursion. Small boat, crewmen provided assistance for my wife to board the boat. Not only that, they helpef her into and out off the water. The guide that lead the snorkrling tour had her hold onto a ring and towed her through the entire time. The water was crystal clear, so many different types amd colors of fish, the reef was beautiful. We were in the water for at least 45 minutes, probably an hour. A great snorkel tour. This was the highlight of our cruise. Absolutely the best. You will have a blast, do this one!

This was the best experience we had on our 8-Day cruise. If there was one negative to the day, it was the beginning. When we exited our cruise ship, we were a bit overwhelmed with the Port of Roatan. It is VERY hectic as you walk through the shops and restaurants and make your way out of the gate to the main road. There are tourists, taxis, vendors, excursion sales people and drivers. We found our Viator rep, and he introduced us to David our driver. He was patient and kind and made us feel safe while walking to his van. As he drove, he told us much about the island, then took us to the sloth and monkey sanctuary (which was first rate). We held monkeys, saw the sloths who were waking up and eating, then we held parrots & makaws and it was a very special experience. Then we headed for the ocean and David dropped us off at the dock area, where we were fitted with swim fins and loaded onto a pontoon-type boat. Our family of nine was joined by a young couple, and as we headed to the reef, our guide Norman explained many things about the specific area we were going to. Once we got our face masks adjusted and our fins on, we slipped off the end of the boat onto the reef. The dive site was absolutely beautiful, and there were so many incredible fish and coral to see! Norman was in the water with us, and the boat stayed close to us in case anyone got tired or wanted to get out of the water. Norman knew the perfect spot and he knew the name of every fish that we saw. He was patient, extremely knowledgeable, and made us feel like family! As we tired, we climbed back onto the waiting boat and it took us back to the dock area and David was there waiting for us again. He was communicative the whole time we were riding with him. As he drove, David shared some personal facts about the island and his story growing up in Honduras. He then returned us to the gate area an hour before we had to board the ship, so we had time to walk around the port and visit shops. I highly recommend doing business with this company and ask for David to drive you.

It can be hectic yes finding your driver/guide on a busy day at port. Everyone is always nice and willing to help if you let them know the name of the operator you’re looking for. We are glad even though it was a crazy day at port you got to find David he is a great guide and always ready to tell you about Roatan.
Having Norman as your snorkel guide seems like a great fit. His high energy and always ready to go, especially when it’s to snorkel out on the reef. It’s so much to see out there and we are happy you had a great snorkel day,

Well run organization. We were waiting for another group that was late, so they sent us out with our own personal driver. She was very sweet and took us wherever we wanted. The sloths are very cool and the monkeys were a lot of fun. My 13 year old favorite part of the trip. Probably mine too.

We had a great time, our guide Dale was fantastic!! We really enjoyed Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth sanctuary, very well run. Our Snorkeling was a great stop, so many beautiful fish along the reef. Highly recommend.

I don't think I can accurately describe how amazing this experience was! The animal sanctuary was better than expected. You get to interact with the monkeys and the birds and get as close as you want to the sloths without touching them. I felt like we had plenty of time at the location and it wasn't too far of a drive from the cruise port. The drive from the sanctuary to the snorkel site wasn't too far either. Its a no frills location but the snorkeling was the best I have ever experienced. It was like looking into a National Geographic magazine. The amount of reefs, coral, sealife both plant and fish was incredible. We got to see a moray eel and some squid and too many fish to recall and even a sunken ship. Some of the fish were so colorful they looked like they had been colored by children. The staff provide the basic snorkel equipment and fins and a noodle if needed. I think the amount of time in the water was just right. I would definietly do this excursion again. Very reasonabley priced as well.

The monkey and Sloth sanctuary is always a fun stop, getting up close with the sloths and playing with the monkeys is amazing and fun.
Snorkeling is amazing and what we do best, we are so happy you enjoyed your snorkel adventure with us. We always take you to the best spots we can depending on the weather. Those fish you are described has to be the “stoplight parrotfish” beautiful colors.

This was a great tour! Everyone we interacted with was so kind and accommodating. Our kids really enjoyed it as well. It was nice to be able to experience a few different things the island has to offer and still make it back to the cruise ship in plenty of time. Our guides were great, and we would highly recommend this to anyone coming visiting Roatan!

We absolutely loved this excursion! This is the first time I booked with an outside vendor while on a cruise. Coming from the high-end hospitality industry myself, I was incredibly impressed with the service from the entire team at ROA. The experience was seamless. The entire team communicated easily, clearly, joyfully and were on top of every detail. Our needs were met before I could even think of them. Incredible service! Most of all, everyone- from the owner, drivers, coordinators and guides- were so genuine, calm and happy to have us. We felt like family, not just clients.
Our driver Ann was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The staff at the animal sanctuary made the experience a lot of fun! Our boat team for snorkeling, Will and Uiel were amazing. There were some nervous adult swimmers in our group and the guys’ steady, open-hearted nature let everyone know they were available to meet any request. I was traveling with my seven year old daughter for her first time snorkeling. Uiel took the time to show her special fish and parts of the coral reef. The reef was lovely and not overcrowded with snorkelers.
I appreciate how they took the time to split everyone into small groups which also allowed us to arrive early to each stop. It felt like we had the sanctuary and the reef all to ourselves.
Everyone intermittently asked if we needed anything or wanted to experience anything else while on the island. My kiddo was pretty tired, but there was so much we could have seen and done.
This excursion was the highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to come back to Roatan and let the ROA team guide us through more memories!

This tour is well organized and very family friendly. My family of 7 had a great time, the snorkel site is so beautiful and we saw tons of fishes, monkey and sloth sanctuary was such a unique experience. Our driver David was so nice and professional, our 6 year old got sick in the car and on the boat, ROA handled it with patience and care, we are very grateful to have this unforgettable tour in Roatan. Highly recommended to every family, and the price and value is unbeatable.

Even though it was a rainy day in Roatan, Norma, our guide, brought the sunshine. She tooks us to the Monkey, Sloth and Parrot rescue which was really fun and interesting. Then the rain came but we made the best by going to local restaurant and getting a tour of the island, We stopped at a chocolate factory and viewed the coastal neighborhoods. Norma is a star! We loved her enthusiasm for the island.

Kisha with ROA, was very knowledgeable and kind. She stayed with our group and made sure we made it back to the boat with time to spare. The monkey sloth tour was perfect, the snorkeling was amazing.

Roatan Ocean Adventures ROA, is family-owned and customer focused. My first visit was with my son, my most recent was a solo tour, and I will bring my husband in the spring.
I have met ROA from both cruise ports in Roatan, and they are easy to find in either one. Just walk to the taxis and look right beyond the cabs for someone with an ROA sign.
Each visit, my guide drove us to our selected destinations in a comfortable, well air-conditioned car. We were seamlessly transitioned to specialized guides at each destination, then driven to the next stop. We were consistently offered refreshment or alternative activities at every step.
The Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary was fantastic! New regulations ban holding sloths, for good sloth reasons but the photo ops are great. We were delighted to find the sloths are not captive. The monkeys and parrots are also lovely.
The snorkeling on Roatan with ROA was great. The guides are attentive and helpful. They were experienced, able to adapt the swim for different skill levels with ease, watchful for unique species, overall terrific. Also, the launch area for the snorkeling boat featured several sleepy cats and a sweet dog.
Overall, 11/10. I have just booked them for the third time. Great for most groups. I especially recommend them for folks who want to try an outside tour but are nervous. They know all the ships’ schedules for each day. They will have you back with time to spare, even if you lose track of time. Easier, less waiting, better activity choices, no worries, I can’t recommend them enough.

Extremely well run... Pick up and drop off were seamless. Animal encounters were great, and the drift snorkel was a lot of fun. We didn't get to go to the typical snorkel location due to weather, but the alternative location was still very nice. It felt very safe, which was important since traveling with a child. Highly recommend! Would absolutely do it again!

Our guide was simply amazing! Definitely the best snorkeling adventure we have ever experienced. They constantly stopped to point out fish and new all their details. He pointed out so many features, fish, corals and more. We couldn't have asked for a better adventure.

This was an outstanding excursion. Meeting with ROA just outside the port was quick and ease. We were immediately assigned our driver and were on our way to the Monkey and Sloth tour. The facility and guide were outstanding.
Our driver was waiting to take us to the drift snorkel portion, just a short drive away, immediately after the monkeys.
As soon as we arrived at the dock, we were outfitted and on our way for snorkeling. An extremely knowledgeable guild (Joseph) was with us for the entire time we were in the water (about an hour). He pointed out points of interest and various species of marine life throughout the tour.
Overall, everything was efficient, friendly, and absolutely worth the price. I would highly recommend this tour.
