We had an incredible morning catching the waves with Gabriel. My teen daughter had never surfed previously and she caught a few waves, absolutely loving the experience. I had taken a few surf lessons before but this was by far the best one. We loved how Gabriel took us through a mindful warm up to not only minimize risk of injury but to allow us to be focused and present. There was just one other surfer in the group so we had a very personalized experience. Gabriel broke down the technique for pop up simply and successfully. His positive energy was infectious. He had a photographer capture the essence of our experience and once the lesson was over, even took us to a beautiful overlook where we could take in even more amazing views of Rio. This was the perfect way to end our trip. I’d highly recommend the surf experience with Gabriel and when we return to Rio we will be sure to contact him for other outdoor adventures!

This is an amazing experience if you have ever wanted to try water sports. I will say standing up is far easier than other water sports I've tried. Needless to say, this does still require some strength and coordination to actually enjoy the experience. Know that shoulder day will be taken care of for that week. Be sure you pack lite to this event, where flip flops/shoes you don't mind getting sand in.

Was great experience. We surfed longer then was supposed to which was great. The guides were great help for us beginners an the viewpoint we went to after surfing was spectacular. Gabriel and the other guy whose name I forgot were very nice and friendly.

Best surf lesson! Great vibes guide! Got the pop up, caught some waves, lasting memories! Perfect Rio experience.🌊🤙

This was a great experience. All gear provided and our tour guide was very helpful and friendly. The water and scenery was great despite the bit of drizzle. Gabriel made trying a new activity super seamless!

To expensive to have such poor communication

They had poor communication - every other Rio tour group reaches out before the tour to confirm and clarify this company does not. Its transportation is from a random site not your hotel. For $90 - USD better communication is expected - so they have my money and since nothing was confirmed I didn’t get to surf. I even tried to use the Viator app to communicate with them but it took Viator reaching out to them for them to finally respond to my initial chat message

You shouldn't leave a bad review on an experience that you didn't participate because of your misunderstanding. The meeting place is shown clearly on the experience description, plus is not written anywhere that the pick up from the hotel was included. We waited for you for 30 minutes and we had another guest who arrived on time, so it wouldn't be fair to make her wait more 50 minutes for you to come. Your first e-mail was answered 8 minutes after you sent it, so the communication wasn't bad at all. I will contact the support and show them all the proof to remove your review since it doesn't reflect the experience quality (just check the other reviews). You are just frustrated by your own mistake and lack of planning. Nevertheless, I wish all the best

Great group of surfing instructors that gave us clear directions with a lot of encouragement and guidance during each time we rode the waves. I would be looking to take the lessons again when back in Rio and maybe try their other tours to see more of Rio.

Gabriel was amazing! What a wonderful day and experience. We were a family with beginners and he took us to the right beach/conditions for us to learn and have a good time. Great surf instruction, knowledgeable about the area, and perfect English speaking. One of the highlights of our stay in Rio.

Gabriel made us feel like a true local!! He taught us to surf at an amazing spot in Rio where we caught some of the best waves I’ve rode. We then got photos to commemorate it. After, we drove to spots only true locals from Rio know about and saw some amazing views! It was amazing!

Had a great day surfing with Gabriel. He found a beach with the perfect conditions for my level and was extremely helpful in getting me in the right spots and catching waves. Would recommend to anyone to do a surfing day with Gabriel!
