Rafael the GOAT

I went as a solo female tourist and had a pleasant experience with Rafael who also speaks English. He knew I was very timid yet he remained patient with me like suggesting smaller waves, showing how to duck for big waves, holding my arm to guide me through the water and even taking some Go Pro videos of me. When I was nervous he would sing in Portuguese or make jokes to reassure me. 10/10 recommend Rafael.

Best small group surf in rio

Wow had such a great lesson with Rafael, I took an early morning lesson to catch the sun rise. He was very joyful and accommodating to my skill level and I felt like I improved a lot in a short time! I’ll definitely be taking a few more lessons from him!

My instructor was extremely patient and kind. His knowledge and training experience helped ease my nerves as I was extremely nervous. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and conquer. My instructor helped me do just that! I would highly recommend!
