Silvia and Alessandra welcomed us into their lovely home to teach us how to properly make an authentic pesto and gnocchi. This seemed less like a cooking class and more like visiting and cooking with a group of old friends. They were patient and generous with their time and knowledge. We laughed and sipped wine and enjoyed the fragrant flowers on the balcony while overlooking the city of Genoa. I highly recommend this class to people staying in Genoa or just visiting for the day on a cruise. The location is convenient to the port as well as the city center. The food is excellent and so is the company. We will definitely come back and do this again the next time we are in Genoa.

We had an amazing meal. Both Alexandra & Lydia were patient, friendly & warm. Passion for food is obvious & we learned skills that we can use.

True Italian Experience

Christine_A, May 2024
Alberto was a wonderful host and shared historical, traditional knowledge with us to teach us not just how to make pesto and fresh pasta, but how to make the very best! It was delicious and he was charming and hospitable. He’s as Italian as they come! Just know that there are many stairs to climb-our app didn’t inform us of that—and leave plenty of time to find the location.

Alberto’s cooking class was a highlight of our trip to Genoa. He’s very kind and instructive. In addition to making pesto and pasta we were also served some Genovese pies, focaccia and wine. A delicious experience!

Excellent experience and a lot of fun cooking in a local flat. Gave us a true home cooking feeling. Definitely recommend. Food was great too.

Authentic and welcoming pasta cooking class with Cristina

Nico_L, Aug 2021
It was an excellent cooking event. Cristina, our host, has warmly welcomed us at her house and shared with us her pasta and pesto insight. We, adults and kids loved the cooking and enjoyed the food and friendliness of Cristina. Thanks a lot.

The location was a little hard to find definitely not a hotel pickup and we recommend you take an Uber to the class. However, our teacher was so welcoming and sweet though her english was so-so--- definitely a language barrier! We learned how to make pesto and pasta and both were fantastic! The lunch was great, served on the terrace with a beautiful sea view. The wine was refreshing and delicious and we loved the melon with port wine for dessert. Would have loved to learn how to make the focaccia she served, but we were overall very pleased with this cooking course! Great home cooking experience. We can't wait to make pasta and pesto in the US!

Our family of four went to the cooking class, aIong with 3 other ladies on May 25th, 2018. The advertisement for the class mentions he and she that his name is Chiara and that he has extensive cooking experience, but it was a female who led the class. If you can call it a class. We were VERY disappointed considering we didn't get a chance to cook things listed on the menu, except for the pasta we all got turns kneading the dough, making the pesto and to bread the anchovies. The menu mentions: 1 PANZANELLA, appetizer 2 main : trofiette pasta with pesto sauce 3 second : Chicken at the Genoese with roasted potatoes 4 dessert : Home made Yogurt Cake or canestrellini liguri di Pannarello 5 Authentic Moka Coffe. It also mentions that the house is in Nervi, which it wasn't. Not sure how we got so mislead. We were served focaccia which wasn't that fresh, and possibly boughten, pasta with pesto, fried anchovies which are very cheap and ample to buy at this time of year, according to the hostess, and boughten gelato. We did have some wine and an espresso. At a 106./person we were a family of 4, I would say that at a maximum, the meal would have cost 100. in total. The hostess was a very nice lady, but this cooking class was rip-off, and would not recommend anyone to take it.
