This was by far our favorite day trip while visiting Italy. The cooking lesson was fantastic and Virginia and her mother made us feel so welcome. After preparing the pasta, our host served a wonderful meal, complete with caprese salad made with their homegrown tomatoes, dessert and wine. Absolutely the best!

What a wonderful experience. Beautiful family and fabulous food. Just loved it! It was a little way out of Parma, so make sure you have your own transport, otherwise talk to the host.

Beautiful little town outside of Parma. Learned a lot of pasta making secrets, and Virginia was an excellent teacher. Our lunch was held on their beautiful terrace. A lovely way to get personal with pasta!

Truly the highlight of our Parma experience! I cannot rate this high enough! Virginia was able to pick us up in the city center and bring us to the beautiful place her and her mother reside. Virginia is a fantastic instructor and we were able to relax on her balcony and eat some of the best pasta we’ve ever had. The ingredients were so fresh, we literally watched Virginia’s mom pick basil off of a plant on her balcony for our meal. We felt so at ease and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Parma!

FANTASTIC! Highlight of our trip! Virginia is a pasta expert! Our meal was extraordinary and we enjoyed it overlooking a beautiful view of a small and very quaint town from the rooftop of her apt. It was perfect!

We took the train from Bologna to Parma, and thanks to Virginia for being our transfer driver as well as our host and teacher. Her mother was delightful, and Cesar the cat was very cute.
Her home is situated in the town of Calestano... very beautiful. The view from the terrace is stunning.
We had so much fun making ravioli with truffle ricotta filling as well as tagliatelle. Virginia is an excellent teacher, and is very patient.
The aperitivo and wine were wonderful, as was the homemade tiramisù. The stars of our lunch however were our ravioli and the tagliatelle with homemade red sauce... buonissimo!
Grazie mille a Virginia!
Highly recommend this experience.

We had the best best time. Virginia her mum and grandmother were incredibly accommodating. The lesson was explained well and we had a good giggle. It was heaven to reap the rewards, eating truffle pasta while looking at a beautiful view. Doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

The town was beautiful. Virginia was an awesome instructor and we had a great time in her kitchen learning to make pasta. We would definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants an authentic experience in and around Parma. Loved it!

I really wanted to do a pasta class while bagpacking in Italy. I browsed quite a lot of them, but I wanted something more simple yet more authentic. Getting to learn the basics without feeling like I'm part of a turistic spectacle.
Well, the experience prepared by Virginia and her mother is WAY beyond that. First, the road to their town was astonishingly scenic, and so was Calestano. I got to walk around a bit, and loved loved loved the medieval atmosphere.
Then we get to the cooking class, we learned how to do 2 types of pastas, and also some extra shapes for the raviolis. Virginia explains everything very clearly, and makes sure we honour the Italians' traditions. I had already tried to do my own pasta with a YouTube video, and if I expected (of course) it to be very different, I didn't expect THAT MUCH. You really leave with some wonderful tricks!
As for the food itself... what can I say, it's going to be the BEST meal you'll have in Italy, because it tastes like dedication, patience, and tenderness. Yes we made the pasta, but all the rest is Virginia and her mom, and I couldn't believe my luck to be tasting such wonderful homemade food with such a mind-blowing view.
I'll also have to add Virginia picked me up and dropped me off in Parma as I was travelling by train, and I absolutely enjoyed talking with her during theses moments. She's a very wonderful person that has a lot to share and I'm sure she'll keep on doing amazing things.
Well you've probably guessed it, this experience could mean something specific for everyone; to me it meant a lot. I'll keep these moments very close to my heart!

Virginia was a very gentle host and teacher, explained every step with patience. First time making pasta in such a nice place in a small mountainside village and enjoy it afterwards with a nice view is definetly worth to book this class.

Virginia taught us how to make great pasta in a way that we will remember when we get home. Then served us a most delightful dinner on the balcony overlooking a lovely, medieval village. It was really nice to get out of the city and into the countryside. There is a fee for the shuttle.

Virginia was super friendly and welcoming. She really knew her stuff about the food and region. We had an amazing time on the terrace and cooking with her and her cat! We didn’t even mind paying extra for the transfer service as everything was worth it!

We were driven about 30 minutes away from Parma through picturesque towns. We arrived at Virginia's home which was located in a charming Italian town. The views from the terrace were amazing. Virginia and her mom were very welcoming and friendly. The instructions were very simple and straightforward. English was used which facilitated communication. From beginning to end the whole experience was more than we expected. We absolutely recommend learning to make pasta with Virginia and her mom. Be ready to drink delicious wine, eat lost of pasta and a delicious home-made tiramisu.

We already loved the car ride to the small town where we were going to have the workshop, it’s a beautiful landscape. The workshop itself was a lot of fun too: to learn about the process of making pasta, doing it ourselves and then that awesome dinner at Virginia’s beautiful balcony!
Matt_W, Oct 2023
Virginia and her mother were excellent hostess'. They invited us into their home and family. The class was a lot of fun, and after making the pastas, they were prepared and served to us in a traditional Italian manner. Virginia is excited about what she does, and she will share in depth all the knowledge she has on the topic.
Karen_G, Oct 2023
We had a lovely time and can’t wait to go home and try making pasta ourselves. The town is beautiful and so glad a ride was provided. Very fun experience!
Natalie_B, Sep 2023
Such an incredible experience set in a beautiful location- after learning to make pasta you are able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view with wine.
Virginia was knowledgeable and a great teacher and the food was so delicious.

Virginia, her lovely mother and friend Silvia were excellent hosts for a family experience which both was a nice break from our city-to-city vacation run, and also provided good memories from doing something practical together. Very intimate and personal. Our family of five is extremely pleased with the experience. Recommended.

We had such a wonderful time and this is a great memory from an overall wonderful trip! The cooking was great, the food was wonderful (especially the tiramisu!), and the views from the balcony are really great. Everyone in my family of six had fun, even the non-cooks!
