- You can enter the museum anytime from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. The museum is closed on Tuesdays
- Our works travel and presently the works of Paul Cézanne (1839-1906) and Auguste Renoir (1841–1919) preserved at the Musée de l'Orangerie are travelling to Japan for exhibition until January 2026. So please note that these will not be available for display at Musée de l'Orangerie during this period.
- The permanent collections will be exceptionally closed on February 11, 12, and 13, 2026, on these three dates for access to the Claude Monet's Water Lilies only.

DON'T BUY the dual D'orsay and L'orangerie ticket. The line up for tickets without entry times is the same line as people without tickets so its completely useless. You may as well not have a ticket. I ended up not using my ticket because the line was so long.

For the unscheduled ENTRY ticket, asking what time I want the ticket in the ordering process is not germane. It took reading the fine print on the actual pdf ticket to realize that it was not a scheduled entry, and if you want you can try to schedule an entry, which, by the time you get the ticket is of course sold out.
Definitely book your ticket on the museum website- with a scheduled entry- because when it’s busy, the management of the entry queues is a fiasco
IMO, the is no value add from viatour with the unscheduled entry ticket.

This ticket is only to access the museum, not a timed entry. After standing in line in the baking sun to enter for nearly an hour without the line moving, we gave up. Wasted money unless you’re very patient and the weather is cool and cloudy.

The museum itself was wonderful. There is so much art packed into the space and the Monets or just amazing. However, I would not book this through Viator. When we got to the museum, our tickets did not have the price listed suggesting that this was a scam. It was supposed to be a designated time ticket. The museum worked with us, but I would not utilize this company again.

This provider was really amazing. We managed to secure a time entry ticket to Musee de l'Orangerie even though we book it last minute. The confirmation was instant, and the voucher was immediately sent to us via whatsapp

Fraudulent tickets DO NOT PURCHASE. The tour operator sent me two pdfs. The girl at the ticket counter questioned me embarassingly about where i got the tickets. The timed pdf did not scan and the untimed tickets gave an error message when she tried to scan and we were turned away. The operator issued us new tickets a half hour later after we had already left the venue and would not issue a refund. I will be disputing the purchase with my credit card company.

The museum was everything I had expected. Seeing Monets Water Liliies was exceptional. Getting into the museum was challenging with the “so called Viator ticket”. Was a nightmare. I had to go back through emails to actually find what was the ticket.
The museum was wonderful, purchasing through Viator, not so much

Easy booking through Viator. The day prior to our booking, I received an email and a message via WhatsApp containing our confirmation of timed entry and our actual tickets (2 PDFs).
We showed up at the museum and entry was very easy. I simply showed the ticket PDF and we were able to enter. We were even about 20 minutes behind in our timing, but this was a non issue.
Just a note that the gift shop closes at 5:45 PM, not 6 PM like the rest of the museum.
When the 15 minutes to closing announcement came on, we shifted our toward visiting the gift shop before leaving. Luckily my mom got in moments before they stopped letting people in. I was stopped at the entrance and told they were closed, despite her getting in right before me… myself and many other guests were turned away. I thought this was odd, but we luckily still got what we wanted as my mom made it in. Just something to note if you plan to visit close to closing.
Otherwise, great experience!

The audio guide provided is not the official audio guide and not indexed in a useful way. It was very difficult to associate a specific place in the museum with the appropriate segment of the audio guide. The audio guide was therefore virtually worthless, except for the introduction.

While the museum is interesting, would not buy this ticket again. It said I was buying a "timed" ticket, which is why I bought it. However when I opened it, it was an "anytime" ticket. Not a big deal for most people and could be a bonus for some, but at this museum, the timed tickets were getting in much faster. We ended up having to wait in line for almost 1.5 hours just to get in. Keep in mind that musee de orangerie is also small, so we only were in the museum itself for about that same amount of time! Try to buy directly from museum if you can!

Lovely, small art gallery with the stunning water lillies.
However, do NOT book with Viator. They use a third party who send you a link to an out of date map and audio guide that is only correct for the Monet part. The rest changes and their guide does not. I complained and the third party denied any fault and Viator finished there. No responsibility taken. End of story. We paid for a timed entrance, which we got, but the audio guide is NOT the museum guide, it is some bored monotone woman reading a write up which is now 50% out of date. Just get the entrance and get the official museum guide. Waste of money otherwise.
Oh, and the Viator "support" on WhatsApp drops you if you don't respond within 3 minutes and you have to start all over again. Then they say the third party has refused any sort of compensation for the faulty product and that is it. I've used Viator 5 times and it has been fine, but their support is awful when there is something wrong

Don’t miss it. Be sure to make a reservation or you may not get in. We went to Giverny first and saw the Lily Pond where he painted and then to L’Orangerie to see what he painted. Wonderful!

I can’t thank Viator enough for all they did to correct an error in this booking that was not their error. It was handled professionally and efficiently. I have always placed my trust in Viator for all of our side travel and I have never been disappointed. With their rapid action, my husband and I were able to complete this wonderful visit to the Musee l’Orangerie in Paris and see Monet’s breathtaking Water Lilies. It is a scam. I payed for two tickets and they gave me two free tickets. But in order to be able to use them I needed to be under 18 or a student. And I was neither so I needed to buy my ticket again.

A nightmare using Viator. I bought a timed entry ticket to L’Orangerie gallery in Paris and paid >double the cost of entry to avoid the long queue. When I showed the ticket at the Musée they said it was a scam; Viator had issued me with a “free” ticket so Viator gets all the money. The Musée information team said I had to reclaim the cost and buy another ticket, wasting a lot of time. After trying to contact Viator they were obliged to re-issue the ticket. Caused a lot of unnecessary stress.
As an art lover I would not recommend L’Orangerie as most of the tourists don’t look at the masterpieces, they just want photos in front of them. Such a shame. And they let too many people in at a time.
